[Bug 745780] Re: multiple prompts from gnome-keyring
I noticed that if you enter the password into the first appearing prompt immediately after it appears just when other things still load after startup. I only get this one password prompt. But if I do not enter it directly but wait till everything has finished loading after startup I will get 3 prompts. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-keyring in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/745780 Title: multiple prompts from gnome-keyring To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-keyring/+bug/745780/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 270331] Re: gnome-power-manager crashed using gpm_feedback_display_value
Hey! I haven’t gotten this bug since 2008, and it was something I reproduced by just waiting around for it to crash (it happened often). So, it’s fair to say for now that it’s fixed. I suppose one thing that might be relevant is that back then, the power receptacle on my compy was busted and so the AC power was constantly activating and deactivating whenever the system was nudged. I’ve replaced the receptacle since then, though (and it’s something I should’ve done much sooner; it’s a problem that can easily fry your motherboard). I can’t remember if there was any connection between fixing the receptacle and the power manager no longer crashing, though. [Bug 653731] Re: layers, channels, paths, undo doesnot display in their window
Hi, I am sorry to say I haven't updated to the Natty Narwhal, due to reported performance glitches, and will not be updating to it in the foreseeable future, as this is my work machine. I can only update on the problem so far, which is that it has somehow changed in nature over time. I have been using GIMP in a Photoshop lookalike layout (see attached screenshot) and those windows won't work in this layout. But, for the past few months, as soon as I drag them out of it, they do work. When I drag them back to it, they go back to being greyed out. (I came across a tutorial in a blog online a long time ago on how to get GIMP to this layout, thus I can't point you to it now.) I hope this helps somehow and sorry for not being able to be more helpful. ** Attachment added: "GIMPScreenshot.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gimp/+bug/653731/+attachment/2202795/+files/GIMPScreenshot.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gimp in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/653731 Title: layers, channels, paths, undo doesnot display in their window To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gimp/+bug/653731/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 808918] Re: gedit usually sleeps indefinitely when launched by unity-2d-places
** Description changed: In a unity-2d session on an Oneiric i386 system with gedit 3.1.1-0ubuntu4 and unity-2d/unity-2d-places 3.8.10-0ubuntu2, running gedit from unity-2d-places (by clicking the home button, typing in gedit, and clicking Text Editor in the search results; or by pressing Alt+F2, typing in gedit, and pressing enter) almost always results in gedit sleeping indefinitely and never becoming usable or creating any visible windows: ek@Zim:~$ ps ax | grep -v grep | grep gedit - 1911 ?Sl 0:00 gedit + 1911 ?Sl 0:00 gedit When this happens, I see the gedit icon appear in the unity-2d launcher for a short time, but then the icon disappears (and gedit continues running nonfunctionally in the background). Usually, gedit can be killed by SIGTERM; occasionally, it seems that SIGKILL is required. On rare occasion, gedit runs successfully when launched in this way. When I run gedit from a Terminal window (by running the command: gedit), it almost always works correctly, but on rare occasion, it sleeps indefinitely (in these cases, ps shows it as having state Sl+ rather than Sl, but I don't think that's a relevant difference). In these cases, SIGINT (from Ctrl+C) and SIGTERM have always been successful at terminating it, but I have only gotten the problem to occur a few times when running gedit from the Terminal. + When I run gedit from unity-2d-launcher (I am able to pin it to the + launcher when it is running from the Terminal), it also works OK. I have + not run it from the launcher frequently enough to know if it ever fails + when launched that way, though I suppose it probably does. + I strongly suspect that this is due to a deadlock. I would be pleased to attempt to furnish any further information required for the investigation of this bug.
