[Bug 793616] Re: lucid and maverick are incompatible with latest iOS

2011-07-15 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package libimobiledevice - 0.9.7-1ubuntu1.1

---
libimobiledevice (0.9.7-1ubuntu1.1) lucid-proposed; urgency=low

  * Add compatibility for iOS 4.2 and 4.3. This doesn't add new device
support, it only maintains support for devices which were updated to
the new firmware. (LP: #793616)
- debian/patches/04-ios-42-compat.patch: Fix compatibility with iOS
  4.2 by passing a cert in the handshake.
- debian/patches/05-ios-43-compat.patch: Fix compatibility with iOS
  4.3 by handling invalid null characters in the plist.

[Bug 810894] [NEW] new desktop file in /usr/share/xsessions does not show up in gdm session list

2011-07-15 Thread Andreas
Public bug reported:

Going through the docs, I assume that any .desktop file that is found
inside

/usr/share/xsessions

will show up in the GDM login screen as a valid session. However, this
is not the case. E.g., I have a stumpwm.desktop file with the following
content:

[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=StumpWM
Comment=This session logs you into StumpWM (a minimalistic window manager)
Exec=/usr/local/bin/stumpwm
TryExec=/usr/local/bin/stumpwm
Icon=
Type=Application
X-Ubuntu-Gettext-Domain=gdm

but I do not see an entry for it in the list of sessions. The same is true if I
go to System - Administration - Login Screen - I don't see all sessions in
the list for the default sessions. (I've also tried coping the gnome.desktop
file and modify it, but still no luck). The desktop file has the correct file
permissions (644) and is owned by root.

what's going on here? Do I need to tell GDM to go through this list
again? I've tried restarting GDM but no success. This is ubuntu 11.04
btw.

the debian/rules rename the file:

Could be fine, but ofc all packages that try to read applications.menu fail.

[Bug 732867] Re: gnome-display-properties monitor layout not saved when using docking station (and display port)

2011-07-15 Thread Martin Pitt
I tried this on the current lucid daily build, i. e. what soon will
become 10.04.3. I used the exact same steps as in the bug description.

 * I do not get any lost windows, so I cannot reproduce this part.

 * I confirm that the screen configuration does not get restored when
docking back, it goes to clone mode.

 * After reboot, the original side-by-side configuration is activated
again.

[Bug 677668] Re: Volume doesn't implement mount error when accessing SMB shares from browser

2011-07-15 Thread Dominik Sommer
With the latest 10.10 and 11.04, bookmarks linking to network shares are
no longer displayed in the file chooser dialog of Firefox. In 11.04, the
dialog shows the mounted share in the media list above the bookmarks
though. Uploading network files from there works. Unmounted shares are
not shown at all - neither in the media list nor in the bookmarks list.
In 10.10, network shares are not shown anywhere in the file chooser
dialog, be them mounted or not: There's no way to upload files from a
network share in 10.10.

So basically the original issue cannot be reproduced as the feature has
been removed...

[Bug 810991] [NEW] Canceled or interrupted file copy leaves leaves incomplete files

2011-07-15 Thread buntolo
Public bug reported:

Nautilus doesn't manage well the interruption of copy process:
If I start copying something using nautilus and then I cancel the process, what
has been copied for this time remains.
This is useless, because an incomplete file is unusable, infact Windows
Explorer, Finder and Thunar (as of June 2010:
http://forum.ubuntu-it.org/index.php/topic,389663.msg3026519.html#msg3026519)
erase the incomplete files.

This behaviour is very unfriendly because if the user repeats again the
operation later nautilus could not disinguish between complete and incomplete
files, forcing the user to repeat the whole operation overwriting all files or
checking them one by one.
The problem could also lead to data loss, if the user isn't aware of this
behaviour, he may think that all the file listed in the target folder have been
correctly copied and skip them when repeating the operation.

OS: Ubuntu 11.04 (debian testing and arch x86_64 too)
gnome-desktop 3.0.2
nautilus 3.0.2

It's different from bug #67691
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/67691)
Because the problem of #67691 is the error message, which now has been removed,
so if before the user could know what's happened, now can't, so it's even worse.

The problem is reported also in GNOME's bugzilla:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/process_bug.cgi

This is not really a bug rather a feature bug.

[Bug 802486] Re: Provide a Python3 package

2011-07-15 Thread Martin Pitt
pygobject (2.28.6-3) unstable; urgency=low

  * Cherrypick some fixes from pygobject-2-28 upstream branch:
- 00git_test_case_hang.patch: Fix hang in test suite when
  TestGDBusClient.test_native_calls_async() test case fails.
- 00git_messagebox_type.patch: Fix MessageBox so it correctly handles
  the type constructor param.
- 00git_python3_build.patch, 00git_python3-maketrans.patch: Python 3 fixes.
- 00git_gio_test.patch: Port test_properties from static gio to GI Gio, so
  that the tests will also work with Python 3.
  * debian/control.in, debian/rules: Add and build python3-gobject and
python3-gobject-dbg packages. Until we get py3cairo packaged in Debian (in
the works), we need to build the python3 flavour with --disable-cairo, and
apply some workarounds in debian/rules (see the FIXMEs); these will
disappear again with py3cairo.
