[Bug 889940] Re: clicking on folder with open Nautilus instance should open in new tab
Put this down as Wishlist, if you like, but I would argue that this is established behaviour in web browsers. There was a paradigm shift from multiple windows to multiple tabs in order to reduce clutter, and all major browsers on all PC and tablet platforms today subscribe to this paradigm. It is easier to shift between tabs in the same window, as compared to windows (which would require activating Scale when there are several windows open). It is also easier to drag between tabs as the distance travelled by the mouse would be smaller. Even without a mouse, Ctrl+C, Alt+#, Ctrl+V is easier than switching windows because Alt+Tab is now an application switcher rather than a window switcher. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/889940 Title: clicking on folder with open Nautilus instance should open in new tab To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/889940/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 890055] [NEW] File properties information no longer expands to fit dialog.
Public bug reported: right-click > Properties In previous versions, the "Name:", "Location:", etc. fields would expand to fit the window width. Now, they are always truncated to about 50% of the dialog's default width. See attached screen-shot. This is a horrible usability problem and makes the Search (Ctrl-F) feature almost useless - I cannot track down the file's location. [Bug 850914] Re: Unity does not start and the menu for nautilus loads with nothing else
FYI, this issue isn't fully gone--I got into this situation today. Logging in with the "Ubuntu" session produced the nautilus-menbar-with- no-launcher issue seen in the screenshots. Logging in with the "Ubuntu 2D" session worked. In ccsm, the Unity plugin was not enabled so I turned it on, and then I also ran unity --reset. After that the problem went away. [Bug 881955] Re: System monitor freezes up when switching to Processes tab
I am running Oneiric x32 with nvidia driver and also get this problem when I enable xorg-edgers ppa. Purging that ppa removes the problem. [Bug 890026] [NEW] Custom GNOME panel launcher icons lost upon upgrade to Oneiric
Public bug reported: One of the user accounts on my system uses GNOME classic and the upgrade from Natty to Oneiric caused that user's custom panel launcher icons to be lost. There were two custom launcher icons in the top panel before the upgrade which the user used as shortcuts for some common tasks. After upgrading (and reinstalling the classic gnome packages that the upgrade removed), there were no launcher icons at all in the panel anymore. I had to look up where the .desktop files used to be stored (.gnome2/panel2.d/default/launchers/), move them to ~/Desktop, and then drag them from the desktop to the top panel. Ironically, Unity handled the situation better; it found the original .desktop files and presented them as pinned applications in the launcher. (But this user does not use Unity.) The new gnome-panel in Oneiric ought to retain support for the old launcher location. [Bug 787475] Re: Rhythmbox [0.12.8] & [0.12.5] Not Fetching Album Information From MusicBrainz
Urgh. So why is importance "Undecided"? As I've mentioned in a prior post, a regression of a feature in a LTS release is a big deal. Also, according to post: https://bugs.launchpad.net/rhythmbox/+bug/787475/comments/20 (#20), the fix is included in the Rhythmbox source tree already, so theoretically, posting an updated version of this app in the LTS repo will fix this. How hard would it be to make an updated version of Rhythmbox available in a LTS 'testing' repo? Then we (the people writing these comments...) could try out the fix and report here if it works? (Or am I over simplifying things?) This happened to me not on my main drive but on a USB thumb drive I use for backup, formatted with FAT32. [Bug 860427] Re: Oneiric displays 'Laptop battery critically low' message after AC is unplugged when 'charged' shown on battery indicator
I've found that editing /usr/share/polkit-1/actions/org.freedesktop.upower.policy so that hibernate's to "no" fixed it for me. It completely removes hibernate functionality (a plus for me as I abhor that garbage). [Bug 860427] Re: Oneiric displays 'Laptop battery critically low' message after AC is unplugged when 'charged' shown on battery indicator
Same behavior here too as well. Very frustrating. Should at the very least be a 'High' importance. Ron, I'm using a Mini 9 and honestly, I'm not sure if I've updated the BIOS ever on here. I'd up it to A07, but haven't had the time as yet to jump through all the hoops necessary (since the only update I've found is a Windows executable). Might try it this week and see if it makes any kind of difference, though with such an unorthodox method of updating the BIOS, I'm understandably nervous about bricking. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/860427 Title: Oneiric displays 'Laptop battery critically low' message after AC is unplugged when 'charged' shown on battery indicator To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-power-manager/+bug/860427/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 886600] Re: Maximized evolution window is not maximized
Indeed... if I set the video device in virt-manager from cirrus to vmvga I am able to select higher screen resolutions within the vm. When the vm has a higher screen resolution, evolution maximizes as expected. So this is actually interaction issue between unity and evolution for expecting too much screen real estate. So I would say that this is indeed related to Bug #23810 but not necessarily a duplicate of it. I think unity should be able to deal with applications that expect higher resolutions even if evolution is not one that shouldn't be expecting it... so maybe this should be reassigned to unity? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/886600 Title: Maximized evolution window is not maximized To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/886600/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
