[Bug 971690] [NEW] adding a bookmark hangs Epiphany
Public bug reported: I'm running Epiphany 3.4.0.1 on Ubuntu 12.04. Whenever I try to add a bookmark, Epiphany hangs and consumes 100% CPU. The bug does not occur on Fedora 17, so this may be related to Ubuntu's changes to GTK. The hang occurs inside gtk_scrolled_window_size_allocate(), so it may be related to overlay scrollbar changes. [Bug 969235] Re: Keyboard shortcuts - Update some window management shortcuts to use Ctrl + Super instead of just Super
John Lea pointed out in chat today that except for the Show Desktop shortcut, the other keyboard shortcuts mentioned in the bug are new to 12.04 so there is no regression (except for beta users). I'll give my +1 from the Docs Team for those. I'll have to talk with dpm to see if this is something we can change in ubuntu-docs now or if we need to wait for the first SRU. I'm not convinced yet about the Show Desktop shortcut changing though. I think people expect either Ctrl+Alt+D (which has been used in Ubuntu pretty consistently for quite a while and is the current default) or Super+D (what Windows does). I hesitate to give a +1 for this change as I don't know if our keyboard shortcut users will appreciate the change this late in the release cycle. John also said Basically we want to end up with all the window shortcuts starting with CTRL+SUPER and all the workspace shortcuts starting with CTRL+ALT. He further made the point that if shortcuts are going to change, it is better to do them before the LTS which is reasonable. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to metacity in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/969235 Title: Keyboard shortcuts - Update some window management shortcuts to use Ctrl + Super instead of just Super To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ayatana-design/+bug/969235/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 971753] [NEW] Precise 12.04 cannot connect to wpa2-enterprise network using PEAP+MSCHAP2
Public bug reported: I upgraded to ubuntu 12.04 a few days ago, and lost the ability to connect to my works wpa2-enterprise network. I just had the chance to reboot off of a 11.10 live CD to verify that 11.10 works, and thus that it is not some problem with the wireless network. Looking at wireshark, 12.04 sends a Client Hello which the AP reponds to with Alert (Level: Fatal, Description: Bad Certificate) while 11.10 seems to accept the Client Hello message. I upped wpasupplicant to debug log level on both attempts and am attaching the part of syslog where I was attempting to connect to the access point. The question https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-nettool/+question/183754 looked similar, but their workaround of upgrading the firmware seemed unlikely after I checked that both 11.10 and 12.04 are using the same firmware version. I'm using a thinkpad with an intel wireless card: root@myrada:/root# sudo lshw -C network; lsb_release -a; uname -a; sudo rfkill list; dmesg | grep -i firm *-network description: Ethernet interface product: 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection vendor: Intel Corporation physical id: 19 bus info: pci@:00:19.0 logical name: eth0 version: 04 serial: f0:de:f1:6f:be:a3 size: 1Gbit/s capacity: 1Gbit/s width: 32 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: pm msi bus_master cap_list ethernet physical tp 10bt 10bt-fd 100bt 100bt-fd 1000bt-fd autonegotiation configuration: autonegotiation=on broadcast=yes driver=e1000e driverversion=1.5.1-k duplex=full firmware=0.13-3 ip=131.215.54.184 latency=0 link=yes multicast=yes port=twisted pair speed=1Gbit/s resources: irq:17 memory:f250-f251 memory:f252b000-f252bfff ioport:5080(size=32) *-network description: Wireless interface product: Centrino Advanced-N 6205 vendor: Intel Corporation physical id: 0 bus info: pci@:03:00.0 logical name: wlan0 version: 34 serial: a0:88:b4:6a:44:3c width: 64 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: pm msi pciexpress bus_master cap_list ethernet physical wireless configuration: broadcast=yes driver=iwlwifi driverversion=3.2.0-21-generic firmware=17.168.5.3 build 42301 latency=0 link=no multicast=yes wireless=IEEE 802.11abgn resources: irq:20 memory:f240-f2401fff No LSB modules are available. That much is public information already.) Note that the stanza received from Google has TWO transport tags, one for a raw-udp transport not supported by Empathy, and one for the standard p2p transport that IS supported. I don't know what standard is at play here, but it seems to imply to me that the client has a choice. Therein lies the problem: In telepathy-gabble, starting at jingle-content.c:499, function gabble_jingle_content_parse_add assumes that there is only one transport tag present. It parses only the first tag, sees that the transport is unsupported, and errors immediately. I'm working on a patch right now; waiting for things to install so I can apply it to my system. ** Visibility changed to: Public ** Changed in: empathy (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to empathy in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/971272 Title: empathy doesn't receive audio calls over Google Talk To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/empathy/+bug/971272/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 876734] Re: gnome-terminal scroll position indicator invisible when left scroll is selected
This bug also affects Ubuntu 12.04 beta 2. With all the other window controls on the left by default, the left-scrollbar should not be that unusual a choice. Since finding the left scrollbar is so difficult (scroll length is set to 2048, so the invisible red indicator is pretty small), a workaround is to simply suppress the new scroll bar, and fall back to the old one. which is always visible. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-terminal in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/876734 Title: gnome-terminal scroll position indicator invisible when left scroll is selected To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-terminal/+bug/876734/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 971468 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/971468 Bruno, Since you're a pro user, I'd recommend checking out the latest gexiv2 source from git://git.yorba.org/gexiv2, building from source, and doing a sudo make install. I noticed that on my dev machine I had several versions of gexiv2 in /usr/lib and /usr/local/lib. [Bug 950817] Re: nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in nautilus_file_invalidate_extension_info_internal()
It's libglib2.0-0 2.31.20-0ubuntu2 which is supposed to not be affected by LP#932627 ... so it must be something else. I don't know what though. [Bug 971898] [NEW] Evolution contact lists broken

I creat the list, all looks good, try to send an email and I get a message that there is a problem with an address, re-open the list and it's changed some of them to whing dings or symbols! Anyone help with this problem? I now have the same problem. Creating a new contacts list ends up with gibberish entries, e.g. fred.b...@somewhere.com becomes a sequence of 6 or 7 non-printable and non-ascii characters.
