[Bug 1071922] Re: double tap does not open folders or files in Nautilus

2013-01-05 Thread Rocko
For me on the nexus 7, double-tap doesn't work even in mouse settings.
When I try 'Test Your Settings' it only ever detects a single click for
a double-tap, even if I set the double-click speed to the slowest
possible (or the fastest possible).

[Bug 987220] Re: System does not power off reliably when "Shut Down" chosen from GUI

2013-01-05 Thread Andre
I cannot concure on the conclusion that it is related to closed-source
drivers exclusively. I have the problem on 2 machines with Intel
graphics, and not a single proprietary driver installed. They only shut
down completely and switch the power off in 50% of the shutdown
attempts. In general all my machines (I oversee more than the two which
won't switch the power off) take ages to shutdown since Precise. I
recenlty upgraded one machine to Quantal: it does shut down, but I can
basically get a coffee until it finaly powers off. Up to Oneiric
everything was fine: quick shutdown, and relyable poweroff.

Although this bug is declared "fixed", none of the above "fixes" have
had any impact on the weird behavior at shutdown.

[Bug 969657] Re: No way to empty trash in gnome-fallback

2013-01-05 Thread Sebastian Meyer
You can make the trashcan visible on the desktop by running:
gsettings set org.gnome.nautilus.desktop trash-icon-visible true
(see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/PreciseGnomeClassicTweaks)

In a gnome-fallback session, the trashcan icon may be added to the panel by
ALT + right click on the panel -> "add to panel..." -> select the trashcan
(see http://askubuntu.com/questions/58172/how-to-revert-to-gnome-classic)

[Bug 987220] Re: System does not power off reliably when "Shut Down" chosen from GUI

2013-01-05 Thread zuliani
Same with my Dell Inspiron 1720 ...

The problem seems to be related to the "Nvidia propietary driver", not
the Ubuntu OS.

Everything (shut down, restart) work perfectly since I have removed all
the Nvidia stuff, as in : http://askubuntu.com/questions/189347/how-
can-i-uninstall-nvidia-proprietary-drivers

Ctrl+Alt+F1
  - Login with your username and password
$ sudo stop lightdm
  - Press Enter
$ sudo apt-get purge nvidia*
  - Y (yes) at the question
  - Press Enter
$ sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-nouveau
  - Press Enter
$ sudo reboot

Done ! The opensource driver "nouveau" works perfectly (and better than
the Nvidia one), so don't worry.

[Bug 221409] Re: Ubuntu Browse Multiple Files dialog does not recognize capital / uppercase JPG as image

2013-01-05 Thread Kosma Kurlowicz
I'm using Frugalware 1.7. I had this same problem, caused by
flashplugin. Removing flashplugin helped.

Some sites (iStore.pl shopping system in my case) are using flash to
download multiple images simultaneously. After removing flashplugin my
shop is using standard firefox/chrome browsing windows recognizing all
lower- and uppercase extensions. I can't download images simultaneously,
but one after another... but it works.

[Bug 1096311] [NEW] totem should support High 4:4:4 Predictive@L3.2 decoding

2013-01-05 Thread Doug McMahon
Public bug reported:

Which it currently does not. Only a white screen is displayed.
As it stands totem is the only player, (i've found), that doesn't decode these
files properly, banshee, vlc, mplayer, ect are fine.

 High 4:4:4 is commonly produced by FFmpeg now & while avconv generally
does "main" & avconv (plain9) will do "high" that's somewhat irrelevant.

To test encode a vid in high444 & attempt playback in totem (Videos), or in a
browser using the totem-mozilla plugin, display will likely be white screen
attached a small screen cap for convenience if needed

[Bug 861171] Re: Shutdown from greeter does nothing when multiple accounts open

2013-01-05 Thread Marius Kotsbak
We could add a checkbox to the dialog that needs to be checked to be
able to select the destructive action, hmm, but it might be confusing
for the other choices. Or maybe an extra verification dialog box with
cancel as default (and maybe the checkbox here instead) that pops up
when selecting the unclean shutdown.
