[Bug 1102707] [NEW] New Standard - Need to add Multi-Graph View with Disk Monitoring
Public bug reported: Windows 8 has raised the bar when it comes to the default application an operating system provides for monitoring your system. In the attached screen shot, you'll see that not only do I get a large graph for the thumbnail I've selected (on the left), but each thumbnail provides (in itself) a real-time graph of the stats I'd normally have to do additional steps to see in other operating systems. This is awesome, because in one window you can see what is bottle- necking your system (Processor, Disk Read/Write, Network Speed, Ram, etc) at any given point in time (real time). Often, the hard drive is what is bottle-necking tasks you are trying to accomplish, however Gnome-System-Monitor doesn't provide monitoring for this aspect of system monitoring. I'm a big time Linux fan here, but when I see something that's awesome somewhere else, I fell compelled to report it I'd like to see our default system monitor be as complete: providing disk-transfer-utilization stats, and allowing us to see all graphs a once. ** Affects: gnome-system-monitor (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "TaskManager.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1102707/+attachment/3493377/+files/TaskManager.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-system-monitor in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1102707 Title: New Standard - Need to add Multi-Graph View with Disk Monitoring To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-system-monitor/+bug/1102707/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1102630] [NEW] gnome-terminal resizes itself when I click away
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 12.10 gnome-terminal 3.6.0-0ubuntu1 Already posted on Answers by someone other than me, but I couldn't find a bug for it. gnome-terminal will not stay resized when I click away from it. I can maximize and un-maximize, but if I drag the corner or edge to resize, it will immediately revert back to its previous size when I select a new window. Steps to reproduce, from Richard George, which are the same as mine: To reproduce: - Open a single terminal (CTRL-ALT-T or similar) - Stretch the window [1] - Switch to any other app (click on it or alt-tab) - - Terminal window will NOT resize - Return to the new teminal window - Add a new tab (Shift-CTRL-T or similar) - Switch to any other app (click on it or alt-tab) - - Terminal window will still NOT resize - Return to the new teminal window (now with 2 tabs) - Stretch the window [2] - Switch to any other app (click on it or alt-tab) - - Terminal window WILL revert to the size it was before you added a tab to it. - - Expected behavior: Terminal will retain size set by last resize [2] until the user stretches it again to a different size. Size attained by resize in [1] should be forgotten. [Bug 1075923] Re: nautilus hangs copying large directories from a samba share
I believe this bug also impacts me too. Some simple tests made against the same remote network mount (windows server via 100mbps Ethernet) when rsyncing a 1GB file produce quite different results. First when mounted via Nautilus (i.e. via /var/run/user/$user/gvfs/foo) I get a transfer rate of under 3MB/s. Then when using a permanent mount (i.e. mount -t cifs //foo/bar /mnt/bar) I get a transfer rate of over 9MB/s, which is nearly saturating the Ethernet link. I've repeated these checks in reverse order to eliminate the effects of caching, and it seems that gvfs is having the problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gvfs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1075923 Title: nautilus hangs copying large directories from a samba share To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/1075923/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Here is one where the bug does appear: http://arxiv.org/pdf/1205.6214v2 to reproduce it, open the document an scroll down towards the end of a page, as this is reached, the display of the current page swaps into the next such that the next page is doubled. Please give this top priority, it is extremely annoying! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1060435 Title: Evince duplicates a PDF page and omits the next page To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/1060435/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1102342] [NEW] Lower-right resize control jumps to near-maximized
Public bug reported: When I open a document in evince and attempt to resize it, the resize control in the lower right corner will resize the window to the maximum size, rather than stay under the cursor. Grabbing a window edge and resizing from there works as expected, so as a workaround, I can resize the evince window to the size I want by dragging from the window edges rather than from the corner control; but the workaround is annoying and cumbersome, and the impulse to use the corner control is hard to unlearn. I include the OS version info etc and below that a command-line sequence demostrating the problem. Between the first and the second xwininfo commands, I just barely had time to reach for the mouse and click and hold the button over the bottom-right corner of the evince window. I am running Xubuntu, pretty much out of the box. Perhaps the problem is in the window manager or something? For lack of repeatability in other applications, I am assuming this is a bug in evince, but I could of course be wrong. I am running dual monitors, the screen geometry as reported by xwininfo -root is 3840x1080. era@precise$ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS Release: 12.04 era@precise$ apt-cache policy evince evince: Installed: 3.4.0-0ubuntu1.4 Candidate: 3.4.0-0ubuntu1.4 Version table: *** 3.4.0-0ubuntu1.4 0 500 http://fi.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise-updates/main amd64 Packages 500 http://mirrors.nic.funet.fi/ubuntu/ precise-updates/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 3.4.0-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://fi.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/main amd64 Packages era@precise$ : before resize era@precise$ xwininfo xwininfo: Please select the window about which you would like information by clicking the mouse in that window. xwininfo: Window id: 0x543 "Cloud-Storage-Security_a4.pdf" Absolute upper-left X: 152 Absolute upper-left Y: 49 Relative upper-left X: 1 Relative upper-left Y: 24 Width: 889 Height: 767 Depth: 24 Visual: 0x21 Visual Class: TrueColor Border width: 0 Class: InputOutput Colormap: 0x20 (installed) Bit Gravity State: NorthWestGravity Window Gravity State: NorthWestGravity Backing Store State: NotUseful Save Under State: no Map State: IsViewable Override Redirect State: no Corners: +152+49 -2799+49 -2799-264 +152-264 -geometry 889x767+151+25 era@precise$ sleep 2; xwininfo -id 0x543 xwininfo: Window id: 0x543 "Cloud-Storage-Security_a4.pdf" Absolute upper-left X: 152 Absolute upper-left Y: 49 Relative upper-left X: 1 Relative upper-left Y: 24 Width: 2806 Height: 768 Depth: 24 Visual: 0x21 Visual Class: TrueColor Border width: 0 Class: InputOutput Colormap: 0x20 (installed) Bit Gravity State: NorthWestGravity Window Gravity State: NorthWestGravity Backing Store State: NotUseful Save Under State: no Map State: IsViewable Override Redirect State: no Corners: +152+49 -882+49 -882-263 +152-263 -geometry 2806x768+151+25 ** Affects: evince (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1102342 Title: Lower-right resize control jumps to near-maximized To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/1102342/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1075923] Re: nautilus hangs copying large directories from a samba share
I asked a question "how to get some attention to a important bug" - during an chat with one of the guys from ubuntu. "ubuntu on air" he told me I needed to contact "developer team" - easier said, than done, after much searching I found mail address of somewhat significant member, team admin. Sent mail, explaining that this is very important to many users, business users, and very, very, discouraging to anyone that tries Ubuntu at home and have som sort of network/NAS/server. no response - that was >1 week ago.
