I just had this too with a fresh install of ubuntu-gnome, after install and update and dist-upgrade everything was fine. More specifically, we need your gdm logs but I think apport-collect will attach them for you. Thus, we will have this long-living bug for another half a year unless it will be fixed. At the moment, Raring shows promise to be quite good and stable release. There are no links to what service it's talking about. There are no links to this person's profile page. I also don't see an option to table to request. Do I have to respond to it immediately? Is closing the dialogue the same as declining it? It's also not clear how to get to a list of currently active subscription requests. I'm pretty sure I had a bunch of subscription requests but I am unsure where they went or what happened to them after I closed them. [Bug 1162466] [NEW] GDM wont start on Ubuntu GNOME using Gnome3 ppa
Public bug reported: I tried to upgrade to pre Gnome 3.8 by using the Gnome3 ppa, the update itself went well but when i restarted the only thing I got was the blue blinds background with a mouse courser, nothing else, no login promt. I tried hitting Ctrl-Alt-Del which brought up the log out dialog box and asked if I wanted to log out from GDM-session ? Strange...
