[Bug 987331] Re: gedit lacks icons

2013-11-17 Thread Drew Noakes
After upgrading from Ubuntu 13.04 to Ubuntu 13.10, gedit's icon started
disappearing from the app switcher.

However it does appear when searching applications, and in the gutter
alongside other running apps.

[Bug 60442] Re: Dual / Two Batteries, shutdown on empty expansion battery. (GPM does not recognises second battery on hotplug)

2013-11-17 Thread Jan
This bug or a related problems appears to affect Ubuntu up to 13.10
Saucy.

My configuration is a Sony Vaio Pro SVP13 with extended battery. Both
batteries were present when the computer was booted, so the issue is not
related to hotpluggin. Hibernation is not supported on this laptop and
was not used, so the issue is not related to hibernate-resume.

Both batteries can be charged and as long as both are not empty,
everything works as expected. However, when one becomes, empty, Ubuntu
is shut down (due to critical battery). The computer can be restarted
and works fine with from the 2nd battery. However, if the laptop is put
to sleep, after resume, Ubuntu decides that the computer must be shut
down immediately, which leads to data loss.

I suggest to reopen this bug

[Bug 1243806] Re: Folder names in Location area keeps the width (13.10)

2013-11-17 Thread mario
Today I was in airport and I accidentally have cancelled an important file from
the pc and, as usual, I opened the trash for restoring it. Because the width of
the column Original position is fixed I could not restore the file because
the names are all ...(see the attached screen shot). I am not a medium so I
installed thunar with which i could see the file and restore it.
I have no world for whom have had written such a kind of unusable file manager.
Please can we hope that the bug will be corrected?

[Bug 1252095] [NEW] Bookmarks Not Visible

2013-11-17 Thread Tom Colley
Public bug reported:

Some existing bookmarks do not show in Nautilus on startup. Most of my
bookmarks are associated with data on a USB stick, and were created
before updating OS from 13.04 to 13.10. These bookmarks do not show on
startup, even though the device (CRUZ64) is visible and mounted. When I
go to Files Bookmarks, I can see the bookmarks. When I single click, I
can see their file locations. When I double click, Nautilus crashes.
Upon restart, the bookmarks are all visible and usable in the Nautilus
side-pane i.e. problem gone! See demo video attached. Thank you!

[Bug 1252099] [NEW] mouse wheel does not scroll

2013-11-17 Thread Horst Schirmeier
Public bug reported:

Since updating to Ubuntu 13.10 (saucy), my mouse wheel does not scroll
PDFs in evince (3.10.0-0ubuntu2) anymore. The wheel works perfectly in
other programs, such as Adobe Reader (acroread), Firefox or gnome-
terminal.

A few additional details I noticed:

 - The builtin touchpad in my Dell Latitude E6400 *does* work for
scrolling in evince (when using the scrolling area at the right margin
of the pad).

 - The USB mouse's wheel creates the following events when recorded with
xev (same as the touchpad's):

ButtonPress event, serial 37, synthetic NO, window 0x5a1,
root 0x255, subw 0x0, time 1888376, (122,66), root:(753,436),

[Bug 1252105] [NEW] Rhythmbox 2.99.1 crashes, unable to open ~/.mtpz-data

2013-11-17 Thread Yani Raafezaj
Public bug reported:

I started Rhythmbox and it worked fine until I tried to play a song, at
which point it'd freeze. Running it from the terminal I got this
traceback.

(rhythmbox:12839): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: Custom constructor for class
SoupServer returned NULL (which is invalid). Unable to remove object from
construction_objects list, so memory was probably just leaked. Please use
GInitable instead.

AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'get_sample'

Seems like it might be related to this:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/1242806

(Dunno if this is relevant, but just prior I was having some issues with
Rhythmbox not able to open /run/user/1000/pulse when trying to play a
song. I fixed that by taking the ownership of that directory.)

build the package locally, running 'debuild' and see if the .pot file is
available after the build.

[Bug 1251877] Re: Systemd-shim doesn't allow to select suspend state

2013-11-17 Thread Martin Pitt
systemd-shim normally calls pm-suspend if it is available, and only
falls back to writing into /sys/power/state directly without pm-utils.
We really don't want to make systemd-shim configurable, there's already
more than enough configurability in pm-utils, logind, and of course
gnome-control-center.

For the record, I've never heard about standby in /sys/power/state,
what kind of kernel/hardware/architecture is that?

[Bug 492598] Re: extract here doesn't refresh nautilus directory GUI

2013-11-17 Thread Timo Palomaa
Resurfacing ancient bug? I've been getting this behaviour occasioanally
in 13.04 (whatever was the latest and official version of nautilus in
it) and now in 13.10 too with nautilus 1:3.8.2-0ubuntu2.

Also exactly same symptoms to post #4, when files are being created from
an external program and whether or not Nautilus is running while that
happens. Restarting with 'nautilus -q' solves the problem until it
reappears again.
