[Bug 60442] Re: Dual / Two Batteries, shutdown on empty expansion battery. (GPM does not recognises second battery on hotplug)
This bug or a related problems appears to affect Ubuntu up to 13.10 Saucy. My configuration is a Sony Vaio Pro SVP13 with extended battery. Both batteries were present when the computer was booted, so the issue is not related to hotpluggin. Hibernation is not supported on this laptop and was not used, so the issue is not related to hibernate-resume. Both batteries can be charged and as long as both are not empty, everything works as expected. However, when one becomes, empty, Ubuntu is shut down (due to critical battery). The computer can be restarted and works fine with from the 2nd battery. However, if the laptop is put to sleep, after resume, Ubuntu decides that the computer must be shut down immediately, which leads to data loss. Public bug reported: Since updating to Ubuntu 13.10 (saucy), my mouse wheel does not scroll PDFs in evince (3.10.0-0ubuntu2) anymore. The wheel works perfectly in other programs, such as Adobe Reader (acroread), Firefox or gnome- terminal. A few additional details I noticed: - The builtin touchpad in my Dell Latitude E6400 *does* work for scrolling in evince (when using the scrolling area at the right margin of the pad). - The USB mouse's wheel creates the following events when recorded with xev (same as the touchpad's): ButtonPress event, serial 37, synthetic NO, window 0x5a1, root 0x255, subw 0x0, time 1888376, (122,66), root:(753,436), state 0x0, button 5, same_screen YES ButtonRelease event, serial 37, synthetic NO, window 0x5a1, root 0x255, subw 0x0, time 1888376, (122,66), root:(753,436), state 0x1000, button 5, same_screen YES ButtonPress event, serial 37, synthetic NO, window 0x5a1, root 0x255, subw 0x0, time 1889640, (122,66), root:(753,436), state 0x0, button 4, same_screen YES ButtonRelease event, serial 37, synthetic NO, window 0x5a1, root 0x255, subw 0x0, time 1889640, (122,66), root:(753,436), state 0x800, button 4, same_screen YES ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.10 Package: evince 3.10.0-0ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.11.0-14.21-generic 3.11.7 Uname: Linux 3.11.0-14-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia ApportVersion: 2.12.5-0ubuntu2.1 Architecture: amd64 Date: Sun Nov 17 23:32:05 2013 InstallationDate: Installed on 2012-07-06 (499 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Precise Pangolin - Release amd64 (20120425) MarkForUpload: True SourcePackage: evince UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to saucy on 2013-10-17 (31 days ago) ** Affects: evince (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug saucy -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1252099 Title: mouse wheel does not scroll To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/1252099/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1252105] [NEW] Rhythmbox 2.99.1 crashes, unable to open ~/.mtpz-data

[Bug 1251877] Re: Systemd-shim doesn't allow to select suspend state
systemd-shim normally calls pm-suspend if it is available, and only falls back to writing into /sys/power/state directly without pm-utils. We really don't want to make systemd-shim configurable, there's already more than enough configurability in pm-utils, logind, and of course gnome-control-center.
