[Bug 1300308] Re: "select items matching" (ctrl+s) only selects one file

2014-12-24 Thread Paweł Mański
What I can add with this strange behaviour, that if I use pattern that
should work for many files - it will always mark the same file.

I have such files:
01_Stary_niedzwiedz.mp3
02_Uki.mp3
03_Lokomotywa.mp3
04_Kaczuszki.mp3
05_Banke_lap.mp3
07_Gruszka.mp3
08_Ja jestem Gummi_Mis.mp3
09_Olimpiada_w_Jarzynowie.mp3
10_Cztery_slonie.mp3
11_Uwierz_w_siebie.mp3
12_Mucha_w_mucholocie.mp3
13_Niech_zuje_gol.mp3
14_Spacer_to_przygoda.mp3
15_Piosenka_Buni.mp3
16_Smoczek_smoczek.mp3

If I use pattern "*.mp3" it will always point seccond file "02_Uki.mp3". If I
change extension of that file, and next try with the same pattern nautilus will
select file "11_Uwierz_w_siebie.mp3".
Whatever file I will select before using "select items matching" its always
chose the very same file matching the pattern.

[Bug 525161] Re: sometimes it's never print out any page and hangs on

2014-12-24 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Till Kamppeter, thanks for checking into this.

I just wanted to add a few data points to this issue.

In both Trusty and Vivid, printing to file (PS)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/525161/+attachment/4284552/+files/Grammar%204.djvu
took a few seconds.

However, in Vivid the conversion of this PS file to PDF via either
Evince or ps2pdf took ~2 hours.

In Vista, if one takes this resultant PDF from Vivid and prints to XPS
via Adobe Reader X, that takes ~10 minutes.

In Trusty, If one opens the resultant PDF in Evince and attempts to
print to file (PDF) the preparing to print message took minutes to make
1 page of progress. However, it ultimately finished within 10 minutes.

Overall, given the resultant PDF is so massive for a PDF (100MB+) it's
not a shocker it's taking so long to permute through all these different
printing methods.

Hence, it may be helpful to finely scope this issue to either physical
printer (and further to specific printer mfg.+model), or one
conversation hop printing to file, e.g. ps to PDF, or how djvu to ps
filesize goes from 6.5MB to ~62MB (if that's even a bug, as I'm not
aware of the spec details). Scoping this report to printing to file
allows a wider testing audience, saves on wasted printing paper, may
more finely focus the issue to something more manageable for a
developer, etc. However, I defer to your opinion on printing issues.

What do you think?

2014-12-24 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Matthias Andree, one may import the file via LibreOffice Draw's import
PDF capability (or Adobe Acrobat if you have a license) remove all
branding, and personally identifiable information, re-export to PDF
preserving the issue reproducibility, and attach here.

Not attaching an example document would largely delay this issue from
being addressed in a timely manner.

As written, I will not upload or tamper with the file.

I will provide it off-band by e-mail (not through launchpad) to people
making plausible they will work on the bug. Such people will need to
tell me their e-mail address.

[Bug 1385882] Re: Unable to mount iPad with IOS 8

2014-12-24 Thread paul scarbro
I concur with Max Barry. I too have the same issue. I wonder if Max
has attempted to copy data to the phone? I am able to use Banshee to
copy tracks across but they cannot yet be recognised by the phone! It's
bound to be a small coding issue as the phone is mounted, tracks can be
copied - yet not recognised.

Any ideas?

So like in bugs 1315896 and 1311928 such behavior occurs only in "list
mode", and matching works in "icon mode"

[Bug 1186523] Re: Unicode error when trying to tick or delete an unticked item

2014-12-24 Thread Marion Zepf
Thank you for the reminder, Bruce! I've upgraded to Trusty Tahr in the
meantime and now I can't reproduce the bug any more. It seems to have
been fixed at some point.

[Bug 1247572] Re: Nokia Lumia 620 (WP8) fails to mount reliably via gvfs-mtp in nautilus

2014-12-24 Thread Reece
Kiori's solution didn't work for me.

I ran mtp-detect 10 times, always failing with the same LIBMTP PANIC
message as above.

Ubuntu 14.04, libmtp 1.1.6, Sansa Clip Zip (appropriate libmtp rules
already present).

[Bug 1251281] Re: gnome-session-flashback fails to start without hardware acceleration in cloud/remote environments (Forwarded-X/XRDP/VNC/NX/X2GO/Chromoting)

2014-12-24 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Importance Critical as it fits the following criteria:
+ "A bug which has a severe impact on a large portion of Ubuntu users" ->
Anyone using Unity, gnome-shell, gnome3, etc.
+ "Renders the system temporarily or permanently unusable." Not being able to
remote in via all the applicable remote access protocols renders Ubuntu largely
useless at the workstation level for enterprises (as well as those setting up
home LANs), as they cannot provide the expected remote support.
+ "Severely affects applications beyond the package responsible for the root
cause." Not being able to remotely connect to Ubuntu would fit this criteria.
While one may use Kubuntu, or Xubuntu as a WORKAROUND, this would not help
those folks who have to disrupt their environments (re-install/change desktop
environments) to obtain this outcome, or who want to retain their 5 year
support on an LTS in the case of Xubuntu.

As this has been fixed upstream as per attachment
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=290278 , this should at
least be given an opportunity to test in the Proposed repository to see
if it resolves our issue here in Ubuntu.

[Bug 1405535] [NEW] highlight nested brackets

2014-12-24 Thread Karl-Philipp Richter
Public bug reported:

currently nested brackets, e.g. like in `The building (house (big thing
over there)) is small`, aren't recognized, when the cursor is before or
after the opening or closing bracket sign (`(` and `)`). It'd be nice to
allow recognition of nested brackets and highlight the corresponding
one.

ProblemType: Bug

Package: gedit 3.10.4-0ubuntu6
