it looks like it's more an issue of gnome-terminal, because the inner- width is smaller while scrolling. I did just want to add that it seems the update has affected the mouse as well. Transitions between windows seems to occasionally disable the mouse click momentarily. This is an issue in dragging and dropping, which will occasionally cut out or display unpredictable behavior. I'm also having this problem, changing the gnome tweaks font scale fixes but only until gnome shell restarts.
