[Bug 1916255] [NEW] Caps Lock not detected properly by GNOME password dialogs

2021-02-21 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Caps lock is not properly detected, for example if you log in with a
password that is in upper case, when entering the desktop without
deactivating caps lock, when trying to open an encrypted drive whose
password is in upper case even though the indicator shows that Caps lock
is active and detects it as if it were not.

[Bug 1916005] Re: gnome-shell hangs window decorations and dialogs

2021-02-21 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Thanks for the bug report.

Please try uninstalling the 'hidetop...@mathieu.bidon.ca' extension. If
that doesn't fix the problem then next please check for crash reports
using these instructions:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Responses#Missing_a_crash_report_or_having_a_.crash_attachment

Finally, if there are no crash reports then next time the system returns
from a long hang (without rebooting) run this command:

  journalctl -b0 > journal.txt

and attach the resulting text file here.

[Bug 1915824] Re: High CPU load from gnome-shell

2021-02-21 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Thanks for the bug report. The main cause of such bugs is usually
extensions, and you appear to have a lot:

extensions.gcampax.github.com', 'workspace-indicator@gnome-shell-

'appindicatorsupp...@rgcjonas.gmail.com', 'ar...@pew.worldwidemann.com',

Please start by uninstalling all of them (or just disable them via the
'Extensions' app), log in again, and tell us if the high CPU load
persists.

[Bug 1913453] Re: Xorg freeze

2021-02-21 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Thanks. That seems to show the gnome-shell process is freezing for many
seconds at a time. There is a hint it might be related to the fprint
(fingerprint) service. Separately there is also a kernel crash upon
resuming from sleep.

The first thing we should look into is the gnome-shell freeze. Please
run these commands to gather more info:

  apport-collect 1913453
  gsettings list-recursively org.gnome.shell > settings.txt

and attach the resulting text file here.

[Bug 1915481] Re: gnome crashes after running `apt upgrade`

2021-02-21 Thread Daniel van Vugt
It looks like there aren't any crashes coming from gnome-shell directly,
but gnome-shell is dying because it depends on Xorg which is failing.

[Bug 1916390] [NEW] seeding a package that depends/recommends fuse3 causes livefs builds to fail

2021-02-21 Thread Rik Mills
Public bug reported:

Seeding a package that depends/recommends fuse3 causes livefs builds to
fail.

Examples:

kio-fuse: depends fuse3. Upstream KDE have requested/suggested that KDE
distro add this to their default install.

sshfs-fuse: a dependency of kdeconnect, which is a default recommends in
Kubuntu. Currently the version in Ubuntu is
3.6.0+repack+really2.10-0ubuntu1 as the real 3.x release from debian
depends now on fuse3, and so breaks ISO builds.

Example build failure with seeded kio-fuse: https://launchpad.net

[Bug 1908921] Re: No system tray detected by hp-systray

2021-02-21 Thread Fmstrat
I am also affected with HPLIP and Nextcloud. Icon's do not display as
there is no System Tray. Killing the apps and restarting them works, so
the "delay" is likely the issue again.
