[Bug 424630] Re: vino-preferences says that your system is reachable using 'localhost'

2010-10-04 Thread ®om
It still happens in Maverick beta : there is no way to use remote
desktop remotely.

I have this configuration on the server :
http://pix.toile-libre.org/upload/original/1286170680.png

I create a ssh tunnel from the client :
ssh -CNL 5900:localhost:5900 lo...@server

And try to connect to localhost:5900 : it does not work.

[Bug 653742] [NEW] Address bar buttons problem for big folder names

2010-10-02 Thread ®om
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

1. Create a very long folder name : for example, I created "/home/rom/a very
very very very very very very very long folder name"
2. Go into it, you see :
http://pix.toile-libre.org/upload/original/1286048285.png
3. Resize the window to a smaller size, you can see :
http://pix.toile-libre.org/upload/original/1286048285.png
4. Resize smaller again, you loose all the buttons :
http://pix.toile-libre.org/upload/original/1286048345.png

The '>' button does nothing when clicking on it.

I think there should be a button containing "a very very v…".

[Bug 645642] [NEW] Bugs when adding a lot of recipients

2010-09-22 Thread ®om
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Evolution freezes for 10 or 20 seconds when adding a lot of recipients.

For example, when I want to send a mail to ALL the members of European
Parliament, I put about 600 recipients in CCi. And it is very very slow…

Another problem : the tooltip on A, CC and CCi lists ALL mails without
limitation, so there are 600 lines, the tooltip has a huge height, and
it crash the window manager (compiz). The tooltip should be limited to
10 mails (adding '…' at the end).

[Bug 633552] [NEW] In systray, battery state stay as "estimating..."

2010-09-08 Thread ®om
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

In systray, when I click on the battery icon, it stays as "estimating..."
instead of "25%", "40%"…
When I click on the menu item, it opens statistic, and in "History" I can check

it in the menu item instead of "estimating…".

[Bug 604515] [NEW] MKV (x264+vorbis) sound problem since Ubuntu 10.04

2010-07-12 Thread ®om
Public bug reported:

I have several mkv files (created by myself from my DVD), where video is
x264 and audio is vorbis. The files are ok (they are played correctly in
VLC and it worked fine in previous versions of Ubuntu).

But in Ubuntu 10.04, the sound suddently disappears (often ~5 seconds
after a seek using 'left' or 'right' keys). I have to seek again to have
the sound back… and it disappears again (maybe a buffer problem?).

The problem appears on 2 different computers having Ubuntu 10.04, with
differents files. Sorry, I can't upload the file (it is 700M and
copyright-protected, and the header will not be sufficient to
reproduce).

But just take any MKV with x264 + vorbis, I think you will reproduce.

Public bug reported:

When creating a new jabber account, it is possible to register to the

authentication failed.

[Bug 543365] [NEW] gthumb thumbnails generation is done in once

2010-03-21 Thread ®om
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gthumb

When opening a photo folder in gthumb 2.11.2.1, it generates all the
thumbnails in once, and it takes time (for example 5 or 10 seconds).

It would be better if thumbnails are generated once photo at a time, and
shown progressively (like in nautilus).

[Bug 533749] [NEW] gthumb 2.11.1 crashes on slideshow

2010-03-07 Thread ®om
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gthumb

gthumb 2.11.1 on ubuntu 10.04 lucid lynx alpha crashes every time I
click on "slideshow".

Gdk-ERROR **: The program 'gthumb' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAccess (attempt to access private resource denied)'.
  (Details: serial 48 error_code 10 request_code 2 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
aborting...

I don't know where to pass "--sync" on command line, it is not "gthumb --sync"…

[Bug 531596] [NEW] Ubuntu does not recognize "kate" subtitles format (default format in ogg)

2010-03-03 Thread ®om
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 9.10 and 10.04a3 do not recognize "kate" subtitles format, which is the
subtitles format for ogv files.
When opening with totem, it searches for a codec, but doesn't find it, while it
should be in gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad (according to some theora dev on
freenode #theora).
VLC cannot open it either because it is not compiled with the option to include
kate.

It is quite disappointing, ogg container (and theora codec) should be
highlighted (and fully supported), it is and will be used in html5
pages, and more (for own dvd-rips for exemple).

To create such a file : ffmpeg2theora video.mpg --subtitles
subtitles.srt -o video.ogv

[Bug 478674] Re: nautilus doesn't show the whole content of a folder (and mouse cursor is busy)

2009-11-29 Thread ®om
Ah, I have a tip for reproducing this bug every time.

- Choose a folder where there are many documents which needs a thumbnail
generation.
- Execute : rm -rf ~/.thumbnails
- In nautilus (in the chosen folder), press F5 (for regenerating thumbnails)
- Before the thumbnails are generated, press F5 again and again : many files
have disappeared
- Reexecute rm -rf ~/.thumbnails for resolving the problem again (then F5).

[Bug 468290] [NEW] Item selection refresh problem in digikam

2009-11-01 Thread ®om
Public bug reported:

I use Ubuntu Karmic with Gnome.

I installed systemsettings and digikam (kde app).

If in systemsettings I select the GTK+ theme, it seems to work, but
there are some refresh problem in digikam : when I put the mouse over an
item (a photo), the photo border becomes enabled, but when I leave this
photo (moving the mouse over another photo), the previous photo border
is not disabled…

[Bug 384113] [NEW] Asks for installing a codec while it works

[Bug 367369] [NEW] gnome-terminal utf-8 characters issue

2009-04-26 Thread ®om
Public bug reported:

gnome-terminal count bytes instead of chars in prompt for handling the
need of new line.

For example, I created a folder "~/Vidéos/ééé".

the char 'é' takes 2 bytes in UTF-8.

When I write something, no problem :
r...@rom-laptop:~/Vidéos/ééé$ echo
abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzabcdefghijklmnopqrst
uvwxyz

The problem appears when pressing ↑ (up) in the terminal to write again
the same command, and editing it : everything is shifted of 4 chars,
cursor is not at the right place, and what appears in the command is not
the command executed (see attached screenshot).

[Bug 214507] Re: evolution doesn't close properly

2008-10-06 Thread ®om
The cause seems to be that is not possible to cancel a task (downloading
emails...), even clicking on cancel...
So when evolution tries to close, it waits until all the tasks are complete...
which can be long if :
- there is a bug in the program which make the task uncompletable
- there is a connexion problem

It would be find to add a way to "kill" the thread who connects (without
waiting for socket timeout).

[Bug 278736] Re: [Intrepid] mouse properties regression : no touchpad tab

2008-10-06 Thread ®om
I don't think it's a gnome-control-center problem, I added this to
xorg.conf :

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Synaptics Touchpad"
Driver "synaptics"
Option "SendCoreEvents""true"
Option "Device""/dev/psaux"
Option "Protocol" "auto-dev"
Option "HorizScrollDelta" "0"
Option "MaxTapTime""0"
Option "SHMConfig" "true"
EndSection

and synclient can't configure it

$ synclient touchpadOff=1
Can't access shared memory area. SHMConfig disabled?

A kernel problem?
