This issue is present in 20.04. It's an inherent issue with the X11 (X.org) design. It has been looked into by a few big developers but solving it is lose to imposible. This make Evolution very slow to work with. A work around is to cancel the ping but this dosn't always work and can quickly turn in to a full time job. But I would still like to say that it is very unclear that the inactive time mentioned in the power managmentstarts after a time of inactivity controlled from the screen saver pannel.
