[Bug 1825544] Re: Switch User menu item gone after upgrade to Ubuntu 19.04
I have the same issue. On my machine I have 2 accounts: and admin account and a regular user account. For the admin - the "Switch User" option never appears. For the regular user - the option appears sometimes (can't figure out what the circumstances that cause it to appear are) Please fix this. The Ctrl+Alt+fX workaround for this is not great. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1825544 Title: Switch User menu item gone after upgrade to Ubuntu 19.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1825544/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Again in second attempt to login I got black screen this time I waited for more than a minute and pressed power button once which suspended the pc then I pressed enter and I was presented with login screen. [Bug 830388] [NEW] Apply button remains disabled after changes in empathy chat accounts window if account is disabled
Public bug reported: What ever configuration changes I make in a disabled account can not be saved (apply button is not enabled). Here are the steps to reproduce. - Bring up the empathy chat accounts window - Click on existing configured account that is disabled (from left hand side pane) - In the right hand side window, make some changes like remove the remembered password or change the user name Expected result - Apply button should be enabled to save the configuration changes (these should be applied when next time I try to login to the chat server) Actual result: - Notice that the Apply and Cancel buttons remain disabled even after doing the changes Note that I do not want to connect to an account first and then remove the remembered password and then disconnect it again. I haven't noticed this bug in 8.04 mainly because of another bug (suspend-resume doesn't work under certain conditions - usually when a lot of applications open) which I will log shortly. I will close this bug for now and reopen it if I get the same behavior in 8.04. -- Evolution freezes (for half a minute) in regular intervals if one of the mail/news servers are not accessible over the network https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/157317 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 108928] Re: Scrambled Keys in feisty ubuntu desktop
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 112955 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/112955 I've also encountered this issue. My solution was to capture the xmodmap -pke output as ${HOME}/.Xmodmap at the login screen (DISPLAY=:0 XAUTHORITY=/var/lib/gdm/:0.Xauth sudo xmodmap -pke > ${HOME}/.Xmodmap). When gnome-settings-daemon starts up and finds an .Xmodmap, it asks if it should be loaded -- I answer yes. As a side effect, if gnome- settings-daemon were to be restarted without the .Xmodmap, it'd scramble the keyboard layout again. With an .Xmodmap in place, it'll load the .Xmodmap every time. Due to another issue (#199245, gnome-settings-daemon crashing with BadWindow every time a window is mapped), I disabled the keyboard plugin using gconf-editor, at /apps/gnome_settings_daemon/plugins/keyboard. Since it's not being loaded, I suspect it might not garble the layout even if I remove the .Xmodmap now. So maybe disabling the keyboard plugin is a better fix. -- Scrambled Keys in feisty ubuntu desktop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/108928 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to control-center in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 112955] Re: vino (vnc) keyboard mapping problem
I've also encountered this issue with TightVNC and the hardy release. [Bug 199245] Re: gnome-settings-daemon crash opening any window: "BadWindow" X error under Xvnc
Oh yes, and as more than one person has noted, VNC performance is incredibly poor on hardy. In fact, in my case, it's so poor that gnome- settings-daemon takes long enough to start up that the first thing to appear is a grey blank window that later (in a minute or so) paints to reveal an error that gnome-settings-daemon failed to start (or, more likely, just timed out, since it's running when the desktop appears and killing it to force it to restart gets it working again). It takes that long for the GNOME panels and the background image to appear and for the desktop to become responsive. -- gnome-settings-daemon crash opening any window: "BadWindow" X error under Xvnc https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/199245 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 199245] Re: gnome-settings-daemon crash opening any window: "BadWindow" X error under Xvnc
I confirm that I'm seeing the exact same issues (Xtightvnc causing gnome-settings-daemon to keep crashing with BadWindow on new windows being mapped, and being restarted) with the same fix (disabling the keyboard plugin for gnome-settings-daemon), in addition to the other issue with TightVNC (keyboard layout issues, #108928).
