[Bug 762918] Re: Natty Screensaver freezes system after some period of inactivity

2011-05-18 Thread David Gillies
I've been having the same problem as well. My machine is using the
onboard graphics of an Intel H67 sandybridge motherboard. Based off
micred's comment of it possibly being the same issue as in Bug 780653, I
tried enabling the option "Lock screen when screensaver is active" in
the screensaver settings. After that I haven't had the screen exhibit
the same behaviour as everyone else has mentioned.

[Bug 402017] Re: GDM login theme change when using accessibility features

2009-10-14 Thread David Gillies
Adding in a "me too". I'm seeing the same on a native machine like Jeff
Sereno after performing the same actions.

[Bug 51194] Re: gnome-volume-manager won't start

2006-11-01 Thread David Gillies
I initially didn't have any /var/run/console directory at all. I created
the directory and updated /etc/pam.d/common-session as per bug 34063.
After a reboot, g-v-m is now behaving as expected.

[Bug 51194] gnome-volume-manager won't start

2006-06-28 Thread David Gillies
Public bug reported:

After upgrading from breezy to dapper, gnome-volume-manager no longer
works on an i386 machine. Running "gnome-volume-manager -n" as suggested
here:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingRemovableDevices

results in nothing. The process won't start at all.

The proper g-v-m package appears to be installed:

$ apt-cache policy gnome-volume-manager
gnome-volume-manager:
  Installed: 1.5.15-0ubuntu10
  Candidate: 1.5.15-0ubuntu10
  Version table:
