[Bug 642958] Re: window very wide in Japanese locale

2010-10-21 Thread Fumihito YOSHIDA
I want to make the point clear,

1) this issue caused by "undo" (=> 元に戻します) translating, not "clear".
see comment 2.

2) We have to wait updating language-pack-gnome-ja-base.
$ dpkg -S /usr/share/locale-langpack/ja/LC_MESSAGES/gcalctool.mo
language-pack-gnome-ja-base:
/usr/share/locale-langpack/ja/LC_MESSAGES/gcalctool.mo

3) It caused by upstream translations, I'll contact gnome-ja translators
and fix root-problem.

[Bug 197537] Re: [MASTER] Can't read PDF file with CJK (Chinese/Japanese/Korean) text

2010-10-05 Thread Fumihito YOSHIDA
Hi all, I want to marshal this bugs status.

It seems this bug's primary work had spread into below bugs.
 - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/616321

I believe below status, and this bug is obsoleted/duped, isnt it?

1) the Poppler project's bug(freedesktop-bugs #7093) is solved by
Adobe's new license policy. Its solved. And poppler-data has been MIRed.

2) the Ubuntu Japanese Kaizen Project's bug is solved by "Japanese
Remix", that released with poppler-data in Lucid phases.

3) language-selector bug is dup of LP#623825.

[Bug 625696] Re: Nautilus crash when ibus is running

2010-09-22 Thread Fumihito YOSHIDA
I test with attached patch, I could not reproduce problem. And, i put to my
ppa for test purpose.
https://launchpad.net/~hito/+archive/ppa/+packages?field.name_filter=&field.status_filter=published&field.series_filter=maverick

Could you please test it?

This patch is simple, nautilus_icon_container_search_preedit_changed()
rollbacks to lucid.
IMHO, maverick's that routine does not has im-context, but im-context is
essential for pre-edit phase.

[Bug 553162] Re: Unset $LANGUAGES if the user picks a different locale in gdm, so that language-selector and gdm stop disagreeing

2010-05-11 Thread Fumihito YOSHIDA
This bug has yet another affection of i18n breakage,

 - GDM read ~/.dmrc 's "Language" value and set LANG/LANGUAGEenvironment
varibale.
 - ~/.dmrc has "Language=(langname).utf8" form by language-selector in some
cases.
(such as Lucid clean install without "no touch" boot. after install,
~/.dmrc has ".utf8" values)
 - So, LANG/LANGUAGE environment varibales sets "Language=(langname).utf8" by
GDM.

But, LANG/LANGUAGE environment varibales expected
'LANG="(langname).UTF-8"' style, not "(langname).utf8".

This LANG/LANGUAGE settings behavior brakes some i18n codepages related
applications (such as xarchiver, file-roller with archiver that has
"codepage handling").

We must recover(or mitigate) dmrc's "Language" value too.

[Bug 443133] Re: gedit could not detect valid text-encodings(Lack of gedit.schemas)

2009-10-05 Thread Fumihito YOSHIDA
** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: gedit

Gedit's deb package lacks localization schemas.

  Karmic's gedit_2.28.0-0ubuntu1_i386.deb contains a below file.
  "/usr/share/gconf/schemas/gedit.schemas"
  But it contains ONLY .
In case of Debian sid's gedit_2.28.0-1_i386.deb,
  it contains , , ..., a
number of source package's po file.

  -Note--
This schema file is important part of encoding detection,
- (a) gconf:/apps/gedit-2/preferences/encodings/auto_detected
- and
- (b) this schema(/usr/share/gconf/schemas/gedit.schemas)
+ (a) gconf:/apps/gedit-2/preferences/encodings/auto_detected
+ and
+ (b) this schema(/usr/share/gconf/schemas/gedit.schemas)
provides "encoding auto detection" features. But (a) is not
localized(="UTF-8, CURRENT, ISO-8859-15, UTF-16"). So, if you have none UTF-8
encodings text files(such as Windows's. e.g: In Japanese locale, Windows
notepad create "CP932" encodings multi-byte files.)
  ---

As a result, Ubuntu's gedit does not open Windows's text files
  correctly.

- This is Ubuntu's diff or build problem(maybe).
+ This schema file is created by build process. But current ubuntu's gedit
+ does not contain any valid default schema(yes, non-i18ned file is not
+ valid).
+
+ IMHO, this is Ubuntu's diff or buildd problem(maybe).
+
And this bug also affects jaunty's gedit_2.26.1-0ubuntu1_i386.deb.
