[Bug 742931] [NEW] Universal Access Preferences icon in GDM (Natty) is not appropriate

2011-03-25 Thread José Lou Chang
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gdm

Currently, the Universal Access Preferences' icon in GDM shows a ban image (a
circle with a diagonal line).
I believe this is not appropriate since the current icon conveys ideas not
related to Universal Access.

I will attach a screenshot.

In the previous version of Ubuntu, Universal Access Preferences had another
icon:

2011-03-22 Thread José Lou Chang
I believe this bug report needs to be re-opened since I have experienced it
very recently.
The tittle of the error shows package gstreamer0.10-plugins-good
0.10.28-0ubuntu3 failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite
'/usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstshm.so', which is also in package
gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad 0.10.21-1ubuntu4

As you can see, it is different version number.

[Bug 422012] Re: Protected files hidden by Trash

2010-10-30 Thread José Lou Chang
I have experienced the same issues in Ubuntu 10.04 and Ubuntu 10.10.

I though that maybe the directory Expunged was a folder that stored
big files, since I saw that in one of the user's Expunged folder
included video files.

So, what can we do here?

1) Inform the user that their files might be moved to ~/Trash/expunged?
2) Change the trash behavior, so that if it is a big file it will get deleted
without moving it to another directory?
3) Move all files to the normal Trash directory?

But, first we need to know what kind of files and in what condition does the
files get moved to Expunged

[Bug 366379] Re: Deleted files does not show in Nautilus trash

2009-05-03 Thread José Lou Chang
ok. I have installed Ubuntu 9.04 32-bit on a 64-bit capable laptop. (Another
laptop).
The same problem occurred on this newly installed system.

It seems that this bug or problem is only reproducible on a newly installed
system.
The problems always goes away after a couple of restarts.

This will be a problem for people who never turns off or restart their

After running all updates and installing packages using Synaptic, the
problem is gone. I can see the deleted files at Nautilus trash now.

And yes, the deleted files are in ~/.local/share/Trash

Jackh, update using Update Manager and see it you still have the same problem.

That is not happening to me. The trash shows the empty icon after emptying-out
