[Bug 1922952] Re: issue about diskspace 21.04
But can you tell? What should linux operatingsystem do if i only get 60 GB free space or less home folder should i expect crash and programs did not works? I think its hard to find out why linux did not boot. Only issue that can get on diskspace: OSError: [Errno 28] none diskspace. But i know its issue with fedora 34 beta too that some programs crash if home folder is used up. I also know its issue about kubuntu on some system with AMD but did not find out why, because its works with gnome and some other desktop system. But i did not get much answer how to test. Did you agree Apt-get install kubuntu-desktop Or some other did have poor tools to fix broked KDE desktop? Some other say reinstall System if only KDE or Unity failed but i hope you can give help. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-terminal in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1922952 Title: issue about diskspace 21.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-terminal/+bug/1922952/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 762306] Re: Doesn't follow XDG_CACHE_HOME
file-roller should use $XDG_CACHE_HOME or have an option to select a different directory for caching. When users' home directories are on a remote machine and mounted via NFS, then file-rollers' habit of creating ~/.fr-* directories, extracting there and moving back the result creates huge i/o-loads. If $XDG_CACHE_HOME would be used, one could direct ~/.cache to some local directory (which we already did). If that's not possible maybe there is a possibility to define a different extracting directory, e.g. by start variable or in the menu. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to file-roller in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/762306 Title: Doesn't follow XDG_CACHE_HOME To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/file-roller/+bug/762306/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I have a similar zoom issue with Ubuntu 17.10 (Xorg). Since I have a HiDPI display, I use the 200% scaling option and assume that this might be correlated with the issue. When I open a screenshot of 1246x878px, it is displayed in EOG at about the correct size, however is looks anti-aliased and EOG says it is 50% zoom and not 100%. [Bug 1488344] Re: dbus rejected send messages
Indeed, accountsservice sends a reply even when the client talking to it doesn't want one. The dbus daemon doesn't remember messages that have NO_REPLY_EXPECTED set, so the replies from accountsservice look like unsolicited messages to it and it denies them. Gnome bug #755421 argues that this should be fixed in gdbus, and I agree. gdbus automatically sets NO_REPLY_EXPECTED when no callback is given, so it makes sense that it also handles the server side by discarding replies for such messages. [Bug 1495173] Re: compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in g_bit_lock()
This is not a bug in glib. UploadBlacklist() loops through a list of strings with for (auto item : blacklist_) // do something with item.c_str() which makes a copy of each string in every iteration. This means that item.c_str() is not valid anymore after the loop finishes. g_settings_set_strv() then rightly complains about invalid utf8 from whatever is lying around at those memory addresses then. While this is not needed in newer versions of gnome-terminal (it has --app-id now), it makes sense to support this for backwards compatibility. ** Affects: gtk Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Affects: gtk+3.0 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Bug watch added: GNOME Bug Tracker #747634 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=747634 ** Also affects: gtk via https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=747634 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Branch linked: lp:~larsu/gtk/lp1443273 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gtk+3.0 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1443273 Title: gdk_set_program_class breaks --class To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gtk/+bug/1443273/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I can confirm this bug in 14.04 with a german keyboard. In my case it only effects gedit. The search field closes by pressing alt or alt gr therefore nothing can be entered in the search box based on those keys. The solution to copy paste is not practicable for me since I search many [... or @... strings. [Bug 1381804] Re: whoopsie test failure since glib2.0 2.41.2-1 uploaded
Posting on behalf of Ryan, who cannot log in right now. He found out that the problem is in the test case itself. It uses g_main_loop_quit() as a source callback from test_callback_never_triggered. Source callbacks are supposed to return bool for if they get issued again or not. Apparently on amd64 we randomly end up with 0 in the return value register so the source function gets unregistered. On x386 it's random junk, so the callback gets run again, with the already freed mainloop. Also, g_timeout_add_seconds (0.5) is bogus - the first argument is a uint. Please change that to g_timeout_add(500). ** Package changed: glib2.0 (Ubuntu) => whoopsie (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: whoopsie (Ubuntu) Assignee: Ryan Lortie (desrt) => (unassigned) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to glib2.0 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1381804 Title: whoopsie test failure since glib2.0 2.41.2-1 uploaded To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/whoopsie/+bug/1381804/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

The main problem is that the Evince apparmor settings does not honor site wide dconf settings as described in dconf(7). I'm currently preparing a multiuser setup where we need some site wide configurations, one of which affects Evince. Problem (1): As described in dconf(7) system wide settings can be made by creating and editing /etc/dconf/profile/user, which will be read if it exists. However if we do echo 'user-db:user' | sudo tee -a /etc/dconf/profile/user sudo dconf update evince We get the following warning (evince:9145): dconf-WARNING **: Unable to open /etc/dconf/profile/user: Permission denied and the following message in SYSLOG kernel: [ 1129.931888] type=1400 audit(1407843498.164:65): apparmor="DENIED" operation="open" profile="/usr/bin/evince" name="/etc/dconf/profile/user" pid=9145 comm="evince" requested_mask="r" denied_mask="r" fsuid=1000 ouid=0 Indeed if we search through all files in /etc/apparmod.d , /etc/dconf is not mentioned anywhere. Possible solution: Add /etc/dconf/** r, to /etc/apparmor.d/abscractions/evince (I've added it at the end of the /etc/ list already there), and run sudo apparmor_parser -r /etc/apparmor.d/usr.bin.evince Then there are no complaints anymore Problem (2): Again reading dconf(7) it is recommended to change the settigns if /home is NFS mounted. Thus in /etc/dconf/profile/user we should replace /user-db:user' by 'service-db:keyfile/user' This causes a new permission denied problem. Remember to run 'sudo dconf update' and log out and ind again. (evince:19187): dconf-WARNING **: unable to open file '/run/user/1000 /dconf-service/keyfile/user': Failed to open file '/run/user/1000/dconf- service/keyfile/user': open() failed: Permission denied; expect degraded performance from syslog: kernel: [ 5430.597984] type=1400 audit(1407848788.264:81): apparmor="DENIED" operation="open" profile="/usr/bin/evince" name="/run/user/1000/dconf-service/keyfile/user" pid=19188 comm=64636F6E6620776F726B6572 requested_mask="r" denied_mask="r" fsuid=1000 ouid=1000 The apparmor files does mention '/run/user/' (in usr.bin.evince): # Maybe add to an abstraction? owner /{,var/}run/user/*/dconf/ w, owner /{,var/}run/user/*/dconf/user rw, however, this does not match 'dconf-service'. [Bug 1296615] [NEW] seahorse hangs when adding subkey

[Bug 1130722] Re: [ffe] Restore a traditional menu under Unity
Hi Attila. The patch only enables the menubar when the "Gtk/shell-shows- menubar" xsetting is set. That means, only on desktop environments that show the menu bar outside of the application's window. I don't think it is wise to check for the desktop environment to decide whether to show the menu bar in the window or not (we'd need to do that because we wouldn't want the menus in windows in gnome shell). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1130722 Title: [ffe] Restore a traditional menu under Unity To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ayatana-design/+bug/1130722/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1277370] Re: Now used Aiatana design blocks Evince accessibility usage if the current session is not Unity
Unity will show the more traditional menu bar layout (File, Edit, View, ...) in its global menu bar. Pressing F10 should open those menus. GNOME applications are moving towards a gear menu on the right side (in ltr-layouts) of the toolbar. Evince does this as well (it has two new buttons on the toolbar that open menus: view and actions). You will see those when using GNOME shell. Pressing F10 will not open them right now. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1277370 Title: Now used Aiatana design blocks Evince accessibility usage if the current session is not Unity To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/1277370/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1277370] Re: Now used Aiatana design blocks Evince accessibility usage if the current session is not Unity
Attila, that patch removes the use of a function that isn't available in gtk+ 3.10 (we won't upgrade to 3.12 in this cycle). Gtk should pick up the accelerators from the menu xml, but doesn't for some reason. I've added a workaround to the patch at lp:~larsu/evince/fix-accels.
