Thanks Bernd, that explains the effekt of the environment variable.

You're right. I have assumed a bug in GTK.

[Bug 442078] Re: Buttons in Eclipse not working correctly with GTK+ 2.18.1-1

2009-10-29 Thread Patrick Cornelissen
When the bug is in gtk that is provided by ubuntu 9.10, how should I get this
bug fixed in this case?
The eclipse packages from the net work fine with older GTK versions for example
from ubuntu 9.04. How du you expect the ubuntu users in the world to react?
Abandon all software that is not from ubuntu repositories because there is a
bug in gtk that has a workaround in some ubuntu packages?

Using eclipse from the repositories is not an option for me because you
get dependency problems with many plugins from update sites.

It would be sad if this bug wouldn't be fixed. There are many eclipse
users out there that use ubuntu, which now have trouble to run it
properly.

[Bug 442078] Re: Buttons in Eclipse not working correctly with GTK+ 2.18.1-1

2009-10-28 Thread Patrick Cornelissen
The bug is still present in ubuntu and kubuntu 9.10 on eclipse 3.4 and 3.5
either installed from eclipse.org or zend.org.
zend studio even brings his own jre to run eclipse.

eclipse from the ubuntu repository works, but is unable to install any
php dev extensions due to version problems of dependencies...

When I use the export statement then In can start eclipse in the shell
without the problems

[Bug 164971] Re: Gnome freezes after moving or deleting many files

2007-12-15 Thread Patrick Cornelissen
I can confirm this bug.
It first happened when I tried to gather all the files for the cdburner to
create a mp3 CD. It was a real pain because it was not possible to burn the cd
or save the stuff I configured for this cd. So I had to start from scratch and
all work of 2h music selection was gone. Now I am copying the file and I will
burn the cd at once when all files are there.
During this preparation I have encountered the "Too many open files" Bug
several times and I solved it with logging in/out.

This bug is really a pain in the ... uhm ... (!) back :-)

Maybe I should use midnight commander for the copy actions ;)

2007-12-07 Thread Patrick Cornelissen
I am encountering the same bug in gutsy :-(
First games went ok, then the dialog stopped showing. High scores are grayed
out.
I tried to reinstall the game and delete all config files of it in my home
directory. Nothing worked. I even searched gconf for more entries without
success,

[Bug 60868] Re: gparted does not detect sdb

2006-09-28 Thread Patrick Cornelissen
I just tried the graphical edgy installer and it didn't detect /dev/hdb!
It's listed in the possible install sources and if you select "use whole disc"
it works, but you can't set the partitions by hand. It only finds hda in this
case. (which is my windows HD ...)

[Bug 50988] Re: Evolution crashes when printing dayview

It looks like you can't reproduce the bug if you enter something by
hand. So to reproduce the bug, better import some ical stuff from
somewhere.

[Bug 50988] Evolution crashes when printing dayview

2006-06-26 Thread Patrick Cornelissen
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

This also works for fresh new users:

Start evolution, import for example the programm of the froscon
(www.froscon.de) and try to print the detailed day view.
The Print dialog appears and when you press the print button, evolution crashes
and throws this assertion:
***MEMORY-ERROR***: evolution-2.6[10487]: GSlice: assertion failed:
sinfo->n_allocated > 0

(Maybe you can skip the import part and just enter something by hand)

** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Untriaged
 Status: Unconfirmed
