[Bug 294032] Re: Nautilus crashes when mounting an ISO using mount archive
I made a backtrace for this two weeks ago but as I expected the bug report got closed a s a duplicate: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/316747 That's a big flaw of Launchpad because when you submit a bug through apport you can either open a new bug or subscribe to an existing one. When you do the latter, you lose alle the submitted data. If you do the former your bug will be closed as a duplicate (except if the bug didn't exist before but that's rarely the case in my experience). Then there is a third bug report here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/259343 which has been marked as fixed because Jaunty doesn't have the bug anymore. I nominated the bug for Intrepid but I have no idea whether this will get accepted or even who has the power to decide. All in all the whole process is not very transparent and complicated. I tried my best to report the bug and provide information but I don't excpect this to get fixed before Jaunty gets released (this is based on my experience with previous Ubuntu version and other bugs). Then I will upgrade my Ubuntu install and this bug will be gone, but there will be other regressions and the whole game starts from the beginning. Sorry for the little rant at the and but as much as I like Ubuntu, bug fixing in released versions is definitely none of the projects qualities. -- Nautilus crashes when mounting an ISO using mount archive https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/294032 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 217196] [NEW] Totem-gstreamer produces artifacts during encoding

[Bug 125075] Re: nm-applet: requests keyring password, doesn't use it
My keyring manager also behaves very weird/annoying, similar but still slightly different to the description of the OP. That's what happens when I start my computer: 1. A dialog pops up and asks for my keyring password which stores my WPA key. When I enter the password and press ok the same dialog pops up again. I can do this as often as I want. 2. I press deny to get rid of that useless dialog. 3. A dialog pops up that looks just like the first one except it has a little check box under the password entry which says something like Remember the password. While the checkbox doesn't seem to have any effect whatsoever this dialog actually accepts my keyring password and a connection to my wireless is established 4. A dialog pops up asking for my password again, it behaves just like the first one, i.e. it pops up again and again when I enter my password so I just click deny and I'm fine. It's also interesting what happens when I lose my wlan connection (which happens randomly every few hours, but that's an other story): 1. I choose my wlan network from the list. 2. A dialog pops up asking me for my keyring password. When I enter my password and press OK the dialog just ops up again. When I don't enter the password and click DENY network-manager connects to my wlan. Security-wise, this behaviour is.. errr... interesting. Even more annoying is the behaviour when I connect to a WebDAV share with nautilus: 1. I choose Places - Connect to server and enter the WebDAV details 2. I click on the new icon named after the connection on my desktop 3. Around ten dialogs pop up asking me for the password. 4. Whenever I do sth. in the nautilus window of the WebDAV connection, i.e. create a file, open a folder... 10 new dialogs pop up asking me for my password. It doesn't matter which of the options in the dialog (Forget password immediately, Save password for this session, Save password forever) I choose. So to sum it up: Using anything that accesses a keyring ib Ubuntu Gutsy is either annyoing or practically unusable, Any suggestions? -- nm-applet: requests keyring password, doesn't use it https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/125075 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gnome-keyring in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
