[Bug 815710] Re: To-button: looking up contacts is very slow

2011-08-04 Thread Veger
I updated the description a bit to clarify it more.

** Changed in: evolution (Ubuntu)
   Status: New = Confirmed

** Description changed:

- Hi,
- when I start typing a contact name in the To box, It seems like the program
hangs, but after +/-30 sec, then the program does continue.
- Regards, Karel
+ When I start typing a contact name in the To box, It seems like the auto
completion is not working, but after +/-30 sec the auto completion works and
the email adress is completed.
+ During this period it is still possibl e to continue typing the email adress
(or do other things), the evolution itself does not hang.

[Bug 815710] Re: To-button: looking up contacts is very slow

2011-08-03 Thread Veger
I have a similar experience, although evolution does not *really* hang, as I
can continue typing the email adress.
If I wait for a while (might be about 30 seconds yes), the contact is found and
the emailadress is completed.

Is this the same for you, or does evolution really hang (and you are
unable to continue typing) while looking up the contacts?

[Bug 793381] Re: evolution crashes with segmentation fault

2011-06-13 Thread Veger
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

According to the title you are having a 'crash with a segmentation
fault', in your description you do not mention this anymore and provide
a lot of configuration settings/tries.

Could you update your description by telling when the crash occurs
(which configuration settings are at fault), and provide a backtrace so
we can (better) see what happend?

More instructions on obtaining backtraces can be found at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash specific information on
obtaining backtraces for evolution can be found at

Uncheck 'Use the same fonts as other applications'
Pick 'Monospace' as the 'Standard Font'

[Bug 791007] Re: Evolution crashed after sending an email with a link (https)

2011-06-05 Thread Veger
Thank you for your backtrace, unfortuately it is not very usefull when the
application did not crash.
So I guess we'll have to wait for another crash.

To help you get the backtrace properly you could enable apport. For more
information see https://wiki.kubuntu.org/Apport#How to enable apport
As your crash it not reproducable, it might be convient to keep apport enabled
until the crash occurred again (instead of enabling it once), so editing
/etc/default/apport seems your best option at the moment.

[Bug 317819] Re: Evolution shows false unread messages in folder

2011-06-05 Thread Veger
I can confirm as well, I have the same setup as bryncoles described in
comment #6

Additionally I read my email on two locations and I am wondering whether
it has something to do with reading email just to turn off the computer,
go to the other location (mail was still unread there as the first
location did not update a 'read flag') readthe email again. There going
back to the first lcoation, the unread counter seems to be off.

But I am not sure whether this is the real problem, but it kind of feels
this way.

2011-06-03 Thread Veger
Thanks for your reply. Unfortuately we do not have enough information to work
on this bug.
At a minimum we need:
- the actual error message when storing the send message in the IMAP account
fails
- the log file recorded when the error occurred (to generate the log file start
evolution from a terminal using evolution --debug=~/evo.log)

Hopefully this will result in a better understanding of the problem.

As an addition on my previous comment: in order to get more/useful log
information about the IMAP server communication, please start evolution

Also, it might be a solution to update to a newer version of evolution,
the natty repositories provide version 2.32.2. Maybe this will fix your

[Bug 791823] [NEW] Closing opened subfolders after moving a message

2011-06-02 Thread Veger
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

When moving a message to another folder (using the mouse), folders
automatically show their subfolders when hovering above them (very
convenient). But after the move was completed (or canceled) all opened
folders stay open instead to reverting to their original (closed)
states.

So when moving slowely over the folder list, they are all opened and it
is quite some work to close them all again

Choosing show 'Unread Messages', shows the 'unread' messages. But they are read
(and shown as read as well).
Selecting them and marking them as unread and after that marking them as read,
mostly fixes the wrong unread-counter
If that fails (sometimes) selecting all messages (in All Messages view) and
again marking them unread and read again, always fixes the wrong unread counter.

It seems that it has something to do with me having read the messages on
another computer at work (the unread messages problem then might happen
at home for the same email account)

[Bug 778543] Re: Evolution mostly (?!) fails to save sent email to IMAPs sent folder - the mail is saved in local folder instead

2011-06-02 Thread Veger
It is working correctly for me.

For example, for my GMail account I have set the 'Send Messages folder'
(in the Account editor) to 'GMail/[Gmail]/Sent Mail' and the sent emails
all are stored in that folder.

So could you provide some more information about your (account)
settings, so we can sort this out?

I can confirm this, it also happens when something is wrong with the
connection to the exchange server. I have left evolution trying to quit
for hours, but it was not able to...

[Bug 786245] Re: Cannot submit second task

2011-06-02 Thread Veger
I tried to reproduce your problem using the steps you provided, but
every thing seems to be working. I created 3 tasks using the 'fast entry
line' titled 'test', 'test2' and 'test3' in the local account (Personal)
without problems.

So could you try to give more information, what type of calendar
account(s) are you using, does creating tasks without the 'fast entry
line' work?

And hopefully we can find the cause of your problem.

Workaround of comment #19 fixed it for me as well, only the

ignoring no-arg, optional-arg or filename flags (8) on option of type 0

problems?

[Bug 775913] [NEW] gnome-settings-daemon cannot register type OxygenStyle

2011-05-02 Thread Veger
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-settings-daemon

In order to have the oxygen theme for the gnome applications as well, I
installed gnome-settings-daemon. Since updating to natty this does not seem to
work anymore:
- After starting gnome-settings-daemon the gnome applications still look ugly
(ie no theme is added).
- When starting gnome-settings-daemon on the konsole these errors/warning are
shown:

(gnome-settings-daemon:8606): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: plugin 'oxygen-gtk'
failed to register type 'OxygenStyle'
** (gnome-settings-daemon:8606): WARNING **: Grab failed for some keys, another
application may already have access the them.
(gnome-settings-daemon:8606): GdkPixbuf-CRITICAL **:
gdk_pixbuf_format_get_name: assertion `format != NULL' failed
(gnome-settings-daemon:8606): GdkPixbuf-CRITICAL **:
gdk_pixbuf_format_get_name: assertion `format != NULL' failed

I suppose that especially the first warning (about the OxygenStyle)
suggests the reason why the gnome applications do not have the proper
theme.
