[Bug 2072568] [NEW] In Lock Screen the password input is not focused
Public bug reported: Sometimes in Lock Screen the password entry is unfocused. (I didn't determine how to reprise the bug.) Probably, the only workaround is mouse click (Tab key doesn't help). [Bug 1970984] Re: Can't save files in a Folder in a Folder 22.04
I tried downloading files using google chrome and firefox and the behavior is the same. If I try to save the file to my homedir the file is downloaded, if I try to save to /tmp it also works, but if I try to save to any other folder it doesn't work, the download doesn't start. I downloaded firefox in version 91.0.0-esr https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/91.8.0esr/linux-x86_64/en-US/firefox-91.8.0esr.tar.bz2 And I was able to save files in any folder. I also noticed that when opening the download window I get the following log using sudo journalctl -f Apr 30 13:27:14 vortex gnome-shell[135810]: Can't update stage views actor [:0x559239a7c370] is on because it needs an all occasion. [Bug 1665144] [NEW] nautilus reports that an NTFS drive is read-only while it is writeable
Public bug reported: By default, Nautilus seems to mount an NTFS partition read-only when a Windows system that has Fast Boot enabled accesses the partition, is shut down and I boot back into Ubuntu. However, when I umount the partition, run ntfsfix on it, and mount it again, Nautilus does not let me move, paste or create folders and files, but surprisingly allows me to delete anything. Such behavior is quite strange. More formally: Steps to reproduce the bug: - Boot Windows and shut it down with Fast Boot enabled (so the NTFS partitions will be in an unsafe state) - Boot into Ubuntu - Open an NTFS partition with Nautilus (not the one that contains Windows). As expected the partition is mounted read-only and menus don't allow the user to modify anything (items disabled). - Unmount the partition (I used the umount command from a terminal) - Run "sudo ntfsfix /dev/sdXX" - Reopen the NTFS partition What was expected: I should be able to create, move or delete files with Nautilus. What happened: The menu items used to create, move or delete files are enabled but when I actually try to create files or folders, or move any to the NTFS partition, Nautilus complains about the destination being read-only. Deleting files or moving them away from the partition works flawlessly. I can also modify everything with other tools, like a text editor or terminal commands. Restarting Nautilus (i.e. running "nautilus -q" then "nautilus") solves the problem. [Bug 223636] Re: gvfs should unmount remote mounts on network disconnect
For users who use gvfs exclusively in a desktop environment: This kind of issue is apparently somewhat addressed by a program called Gigolo (http://www.uvena.de/gigolo/index.html) It makes it easier for me to do the reconnecting. More specifically, it doesn't care if the mount was left dangling; it's smart enough to sort that out simply by being asked to connect. As for those who might be using gvfs to support CLI operations... maybe Gigolo's source code can reveal some potentially useful insights that can be carried into gvfs... http://git.xfce.org/apps/gigolo -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/223636 Title: gvfs should unmount remote mounts on network disconnect To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gvfs/+bug/223636/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 844081] Re: Unity Greeter - Background of the Unity Greeter should reflect the background chosen by the user that is currently selected
I'm very late to this party, but: We have FAR more pressing problems on the discretion front. Top of my list is the fact that we don't map notifications away from projectors. That's far more risky - you can control your choice of wallpaper, but you can't control what someone might IM to you while you are making your critical presentation. So, please help us address that issue. I'm sure we all agree that's more important, and perhaps, by the time we come back to this less important issue, we will all have evolved our positions. OK? By your logic, a perfectly acceptable solution to this is to just uninstall notifications. Or uninstall their IM program. Simple right? Or just not use Ubuntu! Or the regular user could just patch it themselves! Oh how simple. All your reasons for ignoring this option are perfectly applicable to the more pressing issue you described. In my experience, the amount of people who have offensive (or private as I'd much rather call them, because offensive is surely a very small subset of private) wallpapers is much greater than the amount of people who use projectors while their IM program is running. And what! I think I just solved your pressing problem -- just turn your IM program off? Could it be that simple? Otherwise, uninstall it. I'm sorry for any unwarranted sarcasm or spitefulness, but this bug report thread made me really, really sad about Ubuntu's attitude and priorities at the top of the mound. :-\ With love, Victor -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/844081 Title: Unity Greeter - Background of the Unity Greeter should reflect the background chosen by the user that is currently selected To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/accountsservice/+bug/844081/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
