[Bug 37985] Re: Canon PIXMA iP4000 Printing Issues
Hi Guys, I can recommend a perfect driver which supports ALL of the features of the printing devicve. Just install Windows XP over any existing Linux partition and go back to work instead of waisting your time in the engine room. [Bug 37019] Re: When multiple language Gutenprint drivers are installed, they can not be differentiated by indices
Hello Matthias, we have stopped the Ubuntu Evaluation over here. You may download the package from here http://superb-east.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/gimp-print/gutenprint-5.0.0-rc2.tar.bz2, complie and install. As far as I recall they are all inserted under /usr/share/cups/model and correctly named. The full set is useable when adressed with the CUPS through localhost:631, only the gnome-cups-manager can't handle. -- When multiple language Gutenprint drivers are installed, they can not be differentiated by indices https://launchpad.net/bugs/37019 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 37019] Re: When multiple language Gutenprint drivers are installed, they can not be differentiated by indices
Hello Matthias, this will only happen, when CUPS is compiled from source and multiple language drivers ( 1 per language selected per printer included ) are generated. They all show up as "standard" through the gnome-cups-manager, while CUPS via localhost:631 shows them with language indices. Apart from that, Dapper offers me only the EN version, although I have set the language to DE right from the start. The printer I experience this with is a Canon PIXMA iP4000 -- When multiple language Gutenprint drivers are installed, they can not be differentiated by indices https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/37019 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 37985] Re: Printing a test page to Canon PIXMA iP4000 not possible
Hello Mathias, 1)I just did an update / upgrade on all packages ( 20060413-16:20 ), the results are unchanged. I deleted the printer, rebooted ( just to make sure there are no leftovers ) and created a new one with gnome-cups-manager. The test printouts for 600DPI as well as 300DPI look garbled as before.(gnome-cups-manager-600dpi-300dpi.png) 2) Removing the printer and reinstalling it with cupsys (localhost:631) yields a nearly correct test page ( some of it at the bottom is missing ) at 600 DPI (cupsys-600DPI.png) and a quarter sized page at 300DPI with skewed colours. (cupsys-300DPI.png) While the printer is visible in gnome-cups-manager printing to it is not possible at all in 600 DPI ( the printer just blinks with the power light and has to be reset by powering off. ) Printing to it at 300DPI with gnome-cups-manager yields another garbled page, but somewhat different from the one produced in step 1) (cups-gome-manager-to-cupsys-300DPI.png) ** Attachment added: "Test pages as of 20060414-17:12" http://librarian.launchpad.net/2117549/cups-gnome-manager-20060414.tar.gz -- Printing a test page to Canon PIXMA iP4000 not possible https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/37985 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 37985] Printing a test page to Canon PIXMA iP4000 not possible
Public bug reported: Affects: gnome-cups-manager (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed Description: This is for Dapper Drake flight 5, updates as of 2006-04-04 After setting up the printer ( Canon PIXMA iP4000 ) with the gnome-cups- manager, test pages as well as printouts are garbled. After deleting the printer and setting it up with CUPS ( localhost:631 ) a test page from CUPS is printed correctly at 600DPI while printing the test page from the gnome-cups-manager stops at one fourth of the page ( the row titled "Green" is just started ) and never continues. -- Printing a test page to Canon PIXMA iP4000 not possible https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/37985 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Public bug reported: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/37019 Affects: gnome-cups-manager (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed Description: While installing a printer via cupsys shows all details for the drivers to be chosen from, this is not true for gnome-cups-manager.
