[Bug 387957] Re: Improve Save As Dialog Box (focus issues)
This is a very irritating thing, and should be easy to solve. The fix is just changing initial focus! Hard to understand this has been open for 12 years now. [Bug 922299] Re: Mouse-wheeling sliders moves them the wrong way.
Actually, with the new audio dialog, the Volume slider at the bottom doesn't react to scrolling at all. Neither does Balance in the right pane of the Output tab. The slider in the Effects tab also doesn't react. And not per-application audio. [Bug 929577] [NEW] Appearance > Behavior > Reveal sensitivity should work opposite
Public bug reported: The reveal sensitivity slider in Appearance > Behavior gave me the impression that it went from slow to fast. After carefully reading the labels, I eventually figured out that it was opposite. But if the immediate reaction counts, and I think it should, then it seems to me that it should work the opposite way, so that left is most sensitive. I understand why that might sound odd. However, I think most users won't look at it as sensitivity, but how long it takes to reveal the launcher. In that case, it makes sense that right will decrease sensitivitym since you're increasing the time it takes to reveal it.. Of course, this is my subjective experience. But if I were surprised – I actually thought it didn't work at first – then I think others might too. At the very least, this should be tested on innocent users. It might've been easier to understand if the default was at the middle. The fact that this wouldn't necessarily be mathematically correct, is less important, I think. [Bug 879456] Re: Typeahead functionality for nautilus is broken
I have the same problem with the backspace (navigating backwards instead of deleting the last character). I installed the nautilus 1:3.2.1-0ubuntu1 package from ubuntu proposed and all packages related and I still experience the following behavior: Expected behavior: - Open nautilus in ANY folder. - Start typing name of folder/file. - Nautilus selects folders/file matching as you type (one file at a time matching what is in the search/typeahead box). - Type backspace - Deletes the last character typed in search/typeahead box Actual Behavior - Open nautilus in ANY folder. - Start typing the name of a folder/file. - Sometimes the search box opens and sometimes it does not. (BUG) - If it does open, after a letter or two the search box disappears. (BUG) - If you change folders sometimes the box reappears as you start typing other times it disappears. (BUG) - If the box re-appears typing in Back-space does not delete the text present in the box, instead it navigates backwards (Unexpected behavior) - If it disappears It does not re-appear until you close and re-open nautilus. (BUG) This happens in ALL views (Icon, List, Compact) with or without status bar enabled (Some suggested that the status bar fixes this, it does not). [Bug 793381] [NEW] evolution crashes with segmentation fault
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution I have a typical situation I am across my office proxy using ubuntu 11.04. I have set the static ip and also the network proxy to entire system through network proxy settings. I use and like evolution as my mail handler and i am using it for almost 5 years now. This problem which i will tell you was not there before ubuntu 11.04. To update i use to use apt-get command from command window. it was not working after upgrade to ubuntu 11.04. from ubuntu community i found out to add lines given below in my /home/`/.bashrc export http_proxy=192.168.90.94:8080 export https_proxy=192.168.90.94:8080 export ftp_proxy=192.168.90.94:8080 In evolution I have set network preferences as use system defaults. Now when io try to use evolution to send and receive mails it does not work it gives error of time out. Next when i set network proxy system wide to direct connection and then run evolution from user prompt in command window then the evolution starts fetchin mails and sending them. I tried with removing the lines from .bashrc and then using system proxy settings it never worked. i ried to set proxy in evolution separately it still didn't work. This has become a great unconvinience as if i use direct connection settings in network proxy settings it stops browsers and other applications from using internet across proxy and only evolution fetches mails. and vice a versa. Am i amking any mistake. can this be set right. Please help. [Bug 777661] Re: gnome-volume-control doesn't /always/ remember sound theme between sessions
I think I've found the problem. It seems that the settings aren't flushed to disk immediately, so if you log out quickly after changing a setting in gnome-volume-control, then it is forgotten. If you wait a couple of minutes after selecting sound theme before you log out, then it is remembered. But this is inconsistent with the rest of the dialog, because the volume selection in the same tab is remembered regardless. Steps to reproduce: 1) select a new sound theme in the preferences dialog. 2) log out immediately afterwards and log back in. 3) observe that the new theme is not remembered. 4) in the same tab in the dialog, set a new sound level 5) log out immediately and back in. 6) observe that the volume _is_ stored. 7) perform steps 1-6 again, but this time wait two minutes before logging out. 8) observe that everything works as expected. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-media in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/777661 Title: gnome-volume-control doesn't /always/ remember sound theme between sessions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-media In 11.04, if you select a sound theme in gnome-volume-control, it isn't always remembered between sessions. It is a very strange bug. Sometimes, it is remembered, other times it isn't and I don't know why. I use Unity. Steps to reproduce: 1) Click the audio icon indicator. 2) Select preferences. 3) In the first tab, select a sound theme different from the currently selected one. 4) close the dialog and repeat steps 1-3. 5) Observe that your choice is remembered. 6) log out and back in. 7) repeat steps 1-3: your choice of theme should now be forgotten. 9) if it is remembered, repeat steps 1-8 a few times and observe that the setting is sometimes forgotten. ** Affects: gnome-media (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-media in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/777661 Title: gnome-volume-control doesn't /always/ remember sound theme between sessions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
