yes I did. I customized my box because there are a lot of components (installed by the metapackage ubuntu-desktop) I never use. Anyway I was able to remove libgnomevfs2-extra with gnome-applets still installed. Hello, actually "apt-get remove libgnomevfs2-extra" tries to uninstall the package "ubuntu-desktop".
