Matthias, I can confirm this bug when using GNOME on Ubuntu 17.10 with GNOME Software 3.24. I even rebuilt GNOME Software with the PackageKit backend instead of Ubuntu's apt backend but I could still reproduce the bug. Looks like a compulsory_for_desktop tag is missing then: https://www.freedesktop.org/software/appstream/docs/chap-CollectionData.html#tag-ct-compulsory_for_desktop Or it's set incorrectly.
