[Bug 194702] Re: nautilus does not provide command-line arguments to applications when used as ftp browser
Changing the gvim desktop would be a gvim request Nautilus should handle the %U correctly, do you have an example of buggy case? Nautilus doing the interface for other applications would be tricky, that should be fixed in hardy since gvfs does fuse mounts and applications which don't use nfs can use those transparently -- nautilus does not provide command-line arguments to applications when used as ftp browser https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/194702 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 194702] Re: nautilus does not provide command-line arguments to applications when used as ftp browser
Thanks Sebastien for the .desktop-hint! Yet another nice mechanism by freedesktop.org, it seems... Knowing these I can split this up in three concerns: Feature request: I think that in /usr/share/applications/gvim.desktop the Exec=gvim -f %F should be replaced by Exec=gvim -f %U, so that gvim does the ftp-handling. (Ok that's quite another package and does not belong here) What ist your opinion? Bug: Nautilus seems to handle the %F and %U parameters in the entry-field for user defined commands when working on local files but disregards them when working on ftp-hosted files. Feature Request: Could/Should nautilus download files and watch them for modifications in case a non-ftp-capable editor is used on them? -- nautilus does not provide command-line arguments to applications when used as ftp browser https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/194702 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 194702] Re: nautilus does not provide command-line arguments to applications when used as ftp browser
Thank you for your bug report. The command nautilus calls depends depends of the .desktop of the software you are using, your issue is not a nautilus bug but likely due an incorrect command there ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low Assignee: (unassigned) => Ubuntu Desktop Bugs (desktop-bugs) Status: New => Invalid -- nautilus does not provide command-line arguments to applications when used as ftp browser https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/194702 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
