[Bug 230755] Re: nautilus ftp shows empty folder
the server seems to not list anything when being asked to do so, seems to be a server issue rather than a gvfs one, anyway to debug or send to bugzilla.gnome;org by somebody who has access to a such configuration and can reply to their comments ** Changed in: gvfs (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New -- nautilus ftp shows empty folder https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/230755 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 230755] Re: nautilus ftp shows empty folder
Ah, I looked into that command you gave me to try and saw my folly. I apologize for my ignorance. Here is what you were asking for: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ /usr/lib/gvfs/gvfsd -r Added new job source 0x807a800 (GVfsBackendFtp) Queued new job 0x807bc18 (GVfsJobMount) <-- 220 Microsoft FTP Service --> USER probityrules <-- 331 Password required for probityrules. --> PASS *** <-- 230 User probityrules logged in. --> TYPE I <-- 200 Type set to I. --> FEAT <-- 211-FEAT <-- SIZE <-- MDTM <-- 211 END --> SYST <-- 215 Windows_NT send_reply, failed: 0 register_mount_callback, mount_reply: 0x80759b0, error: (nil) backend_dbus_handler org.gtk.vfs.Mount:Enumerate Queued new job 0x8085810 (GVfsJobEnumerate) --> NOOP <-- 200 NOOP command successful. --> CWD / <-- 250 CWD command successful. --> PASV <-- 227 Entering Passive Mode (64,202,189,187,4,209). --> LIST <-- 125 Data connection already open; Transfer starting. <-- 226 Transfer complete. send_reply(0x8085810), failed=0 () The list command in the separate terminal window is empty as before. -- nautilus ftp shows empty folder https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/230755 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 230755] Re: nautilus ftp shows empty folder
Yeah, I tried that initially and it didn't appear to do anything. I just tried it again and it never gave me any notification or information at the terminal (see screenshot). Eventually (I let it remain there for two hours just to make sure it wasn't still processing something) I hit "ctrl-C" and it gave me back the prompt. Trying to list it gave me the same result as before: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ /usr/lib/gvfs/gvfsd -r [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ gvfs-mount ftp://domain.name/ [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ gvfs-ls ftp://domain.name/ [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ** Attachment added: "Screenshot" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/15653568/Screenshot-1.png -- nautilus ftp shows empty folder https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/230755 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 230755] Re: nautilus ftp shows empty folder
I'm not sure if I did it correctly, but it returns "command not found" [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ cd /usr/lib/gvfs [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/lib/gvfs$ gvfsd -r bash: gvfsd: command not found [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/lib/gvfs$ sudo gvfsd -r [sudo] password for derek: sudo: gvfsd: command not found -- nautilus ftp shows empty folder https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/230755 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 230755] Re: nautilus ftp shows empty folder
could you run /usr/lib/gvfs/gvfsd -r on a command line and then try to list the ftp content and copy the log to a comment? ** Changed in: gvfs (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: nautilus => gvfs -- nautilus ftp shows empty folder https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/230755 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 230755] Re: nautilus ftp shows empty folder
I am having the exact same problem with GoDaddy and nautilus ftp. I tried both gvfs-mount and gvfs-ls, but the latter command listed nothing. I am relatively new to linux, so my syntax may be incorrect. This is copied from terminal: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ gvfs-mount ftp://domain.name/ [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ gvfs-ls ftp://domain.name/ [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ -- nautilus ftp shows empty folder https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/230755 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 230755] Re: nautilus ftp shows empty folder
thank you for your bug report, could you mount it using gvfs-mount and then use gvfs-ls and see if gvfs has the same issue? what server do you use? ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low Assignee: (unassigned) => Ubuntu Desktop Bugs (desktop-bugs) Status: New => Incomplete -- nautilus ftp shows empty folder https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/230755 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
