  5. search for the *pkgname* of the purchased app (e.g. vendetta-online)
  6. verify that there are three items now in the search results

  If you purchase an app (say, Braid) or click on reinstall previous
  purchases, then search for it from the main screen, you'll see 3
  results for it:

  1) One will have no icon, will have ratings, and no price
  2) One will look normal (icon, ratings, price)
  3) One will say (already purchased) and not have a price

I just compared with Rhythmbox 2.96 on Precise and the click
registration zone gets displayed between 2 horizontal lines (see my
mouse pointer on screenshot). Clicking elsewhere does nothing.

Again I don't know how the new design, where the progress bar has now
been moved to the right, intended to manage this. I suppose the same
mechanism is still in use and a click registration zone still exists
albeit not explicitly displayed. If this is the case, I would suggest to
use a similar behaviour as in the working Precise version, while keeping
the currently layout which arguably looks prettier.

Title:
playback progress bar gets stuck although song is still playing

Status in “rhythmbox” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
While doing the laptop tests for beta 1, I encountered a weird bug on
Rhythmbox's UI. I tried to move the playback forward using the
progress bar on the top right, but missed the bar and ended up
clicking a little bit too high.

The results were: 1) song kept playing as if nothing happened (good
since I apparently missed the progress bar click zone), 2) the
playback progress bar got stuck at the playback poisition at which I
made the click. The song eventually kept going until the end, with the
playback progress still stuck somewhere in the middle in the song. See
screenshot attached, that displays the invalid playback position
although the song playback had already finished.

Steps to reproduce this bug:
1) Launch a song with Rhythmbox. Mine was the one contained in the example
folder in my home folder.
2) Click the playback progress bar on the top right corner of the UI to move
the song forward. That should work as expected.
3) Click again but aim to a position lower or higher than the bar, your
pointer should turn into a hand for a fraction of second if the manipulation
succeeded.
4) The playback should resume but the progress bar should now be stuck.
5) Restarting the song does not unlock the progress bar, for me I had to
correctly register a click on the bar as in step #2 to get the progress bar
alive again.

Expected behaviour:
Not too sure about this one. If correct registration of the progress bar
click is assumed to be when one clicks ON the bar itself, then aiming a little
too under or upper should not do anything. However, if the registration zone is
expected to cover the height of the playback tool bar (i.e. the height of the
Pause button), then wherever I click in the progress bar zone should move the
progress bar at the right position (i.e. the registered relative x-position of
my mouse pointer) and keep the playback and its progress alive.

As usual, let me know whether further testing is required.

  Saving files over a cifs/smbfs server doesnt work.  You can open file,
  edit then save perfectly.  But repeated saves after give you this
  error:

  The file /home/dhonn/website/arrays.php has been modified since
  reading it.  If you save it, all the external changes could be lost.
  Save it anyway?

  The think is lying to me because I havent made any external changes.

  When I click Save Anyway, i get this error:

  Could not save the file /home/dhonn/website/arrays.php.

  But on the third try it works just fine.

will close now appears and inkscape prints the following lines on console:

  As I mentioned above the same error appears when I try to save a file

  I tried to run inkscape via gdb but gdb did not find debugging symbols
  for the ubuntu version of inkscape.  I also did not find a package
  called inkscape-dbg.

  [Impact]
  This causes frequent crashes of the colord daemon for some users. For most 
users, the visible result of this will be an apport popup. For users who have 
calibrated their monitors, this will unset the calibration, causing the screen 
colours to change.

  [Test Case]
  I'm not able to reproduce this myself. However, this crash (and crashes like 
it) are pretty much *all* of the colord crash reports for 0.1.16-2 on 
errors.ubuntu.com.

  This should cook in -proposed until we're reasonably certain that
  these crashes no longer show up there.

  [Regression Potential]
  Low. The upload adds a single call to dbus_threads_init_default() at the 
start of main. Given that colord is currently using libdbus without threadsafe 
support, enabling threadsafe support is unlikely to break anything.

  There is no explicit synchronisation between the dbus-using threads,
  so deadlocks are unlikely.

  The colord daemon is run as an unprivileged user, so even in the
  incredibly unlikely event that this opens a security hole it's a
  limited threat.

  This code is split out of the colord daemon in the development release; the 
same fix applies to colord-sane, however, and will be uploaded shortly.

I had search for dconf in search and unchecked 'ideal -activation-
enabled'

  In settings Brightings and Lock I'm setting not to turn off the
  screen, but it turns it off. Sometimes reboot will help, but when I
  set to turn off the screnn for ex. 1 minute - it don't turn it off.

Because the stacktrace on this is quite weird, I'm going to be
super-optimistic and hope that fixing the thread-unsafe usage of DBus in
colord-sane has magically fixed this.

Please pipe up if you see this crash with colord 0.1.21-1ubuntu1.

Bug description:
  Ubuntu wallpapers are low quality. They often are low resolution, have
  JPEG artefacts and/or visible noise. This degrades the quality feel of
  the desktop itself.

  The low resolution is self explanatory. Many people use a monitor
  resolution that is 1920 pixels wide. This should be easy to support as
  even the lowest quality digital camera is higher resolution than that.
  By comparison, gnome-backgrounds uses mostly 2560x1600 or 1920x1200.

  Often JPEG artefacts are visible in areas of very slight gradation.
  Though in precise I think there is a bigger problem with noise.
  Neither of these should be visible on the desktop. Please increase the
  JPEG encoding quality, and the image smoothness before that.

  Compare ubuntu-wallpapers with those from gnome-backgrounds. Though
  gnome-backgrounds are not great quality either, they are far better
  prepared than ubuntu-wallpapers.
