Bug description:
If I open any image with eog (I tried several different .png and .svg
files), then click and drag with the left mouse button inside the
window, X immediately crashes and I get taken back to the login
screen. If no image file is open, nothing happens. The behaviour is
the same in Unity and Xfce.

  I'm running 64-bit Ubuntu 12.04, fully updated, on a Dell Inspiron 15R
5520 laptop with an AMD Radeon HD 7600M graphics card and the official
64-bit AMD driver (not sure how to tell which version - it was the
latest a couple of months ago anyway). xorg's version is
  1:7.6+12ubuntu1, and eog's is 3.4.2-0ubuntu1.1. If I redirect the
output from eog to a file, I get:

  (eog:22355): Gdk-WARNING **: eog: Fatal IO error 11 (Resource
temporarily unavailable) on X server :0.0.

Bug description:
From mesa package: libgbm1 depends on libgl1-mesa-dri

  From qtdeclarative-opensource-src: qtdeclarative5-qtquick2-plugin
  depends on libgl1-mesa-dri

Mesa is available on our default installations by virtue of
ubuntu-drivers-common, seeds or manual package selection.
Above two dependencies, result in nvidia & radion packages pulled into
ubuntu-touch seed which is undesired.

Talking on IRC mlankhorst provided a solution, which i'd like to try out:
   depend on libgl1-mesa-dri | libgl1
and include libhybris first so libgl1-mesa-dri doesn't end up
being installed

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1430888] Re: DRI_PRIME with radeon/intel windows do not draw

2017-03-05 Thread Timo Aaltonen
I'm going to assume this is fixed with mesa 12.0.6 and if you enable
DRI3 or uninstall xserver-xorg-video-intel (which lets it fall back on
-modeset which uses DRI3)

** Changed in: mesa (Ubuntu)
   Status: Incomplete => Fix Released

Title:
DRI_PRIME with radeon/intel windows do not draw

Status in X.Org X server:
  New
Status in mesa package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
I'm using Ubuntu 15.04 and Xorg version 1:7.7+7ubuntu2

  Step to reproduce:
start "DRI_PRIME=1 steam" (or any other complex 3D program like minecraft)

  What is expected:
the program should show it's window(s), those should have the same content as
if started without "DRI_PRIME".

  What actually happens:
most times the program just shows a "freezed" version of the background the
window appeared on.

  Additional Informations:
I have the newest BIOS version.

Title:
glGenFramebuffers fails when linked with OSMesa AND X11

Status in mesa package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Hi.

In latest update for Ubuntu Desktop 14.04.4 LTS, there is a serious
problem when calling glGenFramebuffers() in a program that links both
  libOSMesa and libX11.

Attached is a test program that can verify this. If the program is
  compiled with the following

  gcc check_glgenframebuffer.c -lGL -lX11 -lOSMesa

then glGenFramebuffers() will fail when current context is set to GLX
and the program will dump core upon exit. This is from gdb:

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
  0x72ef930e in ?? () from
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri/i965_dri.so

If the program is compiled with the following, then it works.

  gcc check_glgenframebuffer.c -lGL -lX11

This is a problem if you have a program that needs both libs such as
the Open Source Video Mixer Snowmix.

  Best regards
  Peter Maersk-Moller

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1670269] [NEW] Add com.ubuntu.usbcreator.format for usb creator action

2017-03-05 Thread Khurshid Alam
Public bug reported:

Usb creator still asks for password when formatting or trying to install
boot-loader. If user doesn't respond within a sepecific time, it fails
and user has to start the process all over again.

Adding "com.ubuntu.usbcreator.format" to Action solves the issue.

Status in jockey package in Ubuntu:
  Won't Fix

Bug description:
The Lenovo E435 was quirked during hardware enablement so that the
psmouse driver would be unloaded when going to Hibernate and reloaded
when coming back from hibernate. We should include this quirk in 12.10
so that we don't have a feature regression.

Summary: After s4 hibernate, on logging back into the desktop the
touchpad does not control the mouse cursor.

  Steps:
  1) Log into desktop.
  2) Click on the power button in the upper right corner of the desktop.
  3) Select Hibernate and close the lid.
  4) Once the system is in the hibernate state, open the lid.
  5) Log in the user.
  6) use the touchpad to move the mouse cursor.

Expected results: The cursor moves as expected.

Actual results: The cursor remains where it was before S4

WORKAROUND: Closing the lid to initiate s3, then opening the lid will
  bring back the touchpad functionality.

Yesterday I applied updates. Ubuntu software history shows these as:

  bsdutils(2.20.1-5.1ubuntu20.2,2.20.1-5.1ubuntu20.3)
  xserver-xorg-video-intel(2.99.910-0ubuntu1.2,2.99.910-0ubuntu1.3)

Previous to this I have had no problems with dual screen on 14.04.

WORKAROUND: Reverted to the Nouveau driver. The nvidia driver 331.38
previously worked but doesn't now after the above Ubuntu updates.

Bug description:
  Forwarded https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=775613

  Version: NetworkManager 1.4.2

This bug happens after power-on with probability about 1/50.
That means we need to reboot about 50 times to get into the buggy situation.
"nmcli d" shows the device type is ethernet:

  DEVICE TYPE STATECONNECTION
  wlp1s0 ethernet unavailable --
  lo loopback unmanaged--

The bug starts from a race condition. But it is not the root cause.
I've also attach 2 logs. One is in good situation. Another is in bad
situation.
This log is generated by applying a "log patch" to network-manager 1.4.2 so
we can see more stuff.

In the bad situation. The bug starts with race condition. But the race
condition is not the root cause. The race condition is:
   * During the renaming from "wlan0" to "wlp1s0". "wlan0" disappeared.
   * Inside the NM, it is still using "wlan0" in "_linktype_get_type()".
   * Since /sys/class/net/wlan0/uevent is disappeared. so the type matching
failed in _linktype_get_type().
   * Also wifi_utils_is_wifi() failed to because /sys/class/net/wlan0
disappeared.
   * And finally, devtype and kind are both NULL, so it returns
NM_LINK_TYPE_ETHERNET for wlan0.

Later, wlan0 is renamed to wlp1s0, and it seems to me that the Object inherit
the type so it is still type ethernet.
But from the log, I saw _linktype_get_type() is called several times later
and return the correct type (wifi). But just, "nmcli d" still shows type
ethernet.

I'm wondering if we are missing to update the type in the Object
created after renaming and re-detecting the type.

  fix need landing LP: #1645698

Bug description:
  [Impact]

This SRU would try to have the latest well-tested upstream point
release (1.2.6) of 1.2.x land in Xenial, which is the successor of the
current 1.2.2 version, fixing quite some bugs that's suitable to land
  in the stable branch.

  https://cgit.freedesktop.org/NetworkManager/NetworkManager/tree/NEWS?h=nm-1-2

  [Test Case]

After installing the updated version, users should be able to avoid
some mem leaks in some cases and have generally improved DNS related
  experiences.

Also, as this is a general point release update, cases described in
  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/NetworkManager/DistroTesting should be used
  for smoke testing.

  [Regression Potential]

This is a bug/regression fix for 1.2.2 and 1.2.4, which is quite
  complete.

  [Other Info]
The first attempt at SRUing this to xenial was for 1.2.4 but it failed
verification. This second attempt matches yakkety with 1.2.6.

Parallel building was enabled in xenial to keep the diff between
xenial and yakkety minimal since they are basically in sync now.
Parallel building was enabled in the yakkety package in May 2016 so
it's been working fine for a while.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1670216] [NEW] Cannot load radeon drivers

2017-03-05 Thread Mário João Gonçalves Ferreiro
Public bug reported:

lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS
Release:16.04

apt-cache policy xorg
xorg:
  Instalado: 1:7.7+13ubuntu3
  Candidato: 1:7.7+13ubuntu3
  Tabela de Versão:
 *** 1:7.7+13ubuntu3 500
500 http://pt.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/main amd64 Packages

The following error occurs at genymotion start
libGL error: unable to load driver: radeonsi_dri.so
libGL error: driver pointer missing
libGL error: failed to load driver: radeonsi
libGL error: unable to load driver: swrast_dri.so
libGL error: failed to load driver: swrast

it occurs to in android AVD emulator before applying the following workaround,
a bit different now since the folders names changed:
cd $ANDROID_HOME/android-sdk-linux_x86/tools/lib64/libstdc++
$ mv libstdc++.so.6 libstdc++.so.6.bak
$ ln -s /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.6
$ANDROID_HOME/android-sdk-linux_x86/tools/lib64/libstdc++
seen in here
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/36554322/cannot-start-emulator-in-android-studio-2-0

It seems to be something about hardware acceleration since if it is
disabled in android AVD emulator the emulator work fine. If is started
from the command line with the option -use-system-lib: emulator -use-
system-libs -avd YOUR_VIRTUAL_DEVICE_NAME it work too.

A process to replicate the bug is install Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS, then
virtualbox with apt and then install genymotion-2.8.1_x64.bin, at least
it was that I used. This way the emulator works. After this if you
update the Ubuntu with sudo apt update | sudo apt upgrade the error
appears.

  [Original Description]

When IPv4 Method is set to Automatic VPN, DNS address recieved from
OpenVPN server do not update resolv.conf.

This can be achieved when using a standard openvpn config file by
  adding the lines:

  script-security 2
  up /etc/openvpn/update-resolv-conf
  down /etc/openvpn/update-resolv-conf

In Network-manager there seems to be no option to run connection
specific scripts and the DNS data from the server is ignored.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1642966] Re: package cups-daemon 2.1.3-4 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess new pre-removal script returned error exit status 1

will not shut down by having a stuck job in the queue. The upgrade
completed correctly.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1603600] Re: NetworkManager ignores pushed openvpn routes

2017-03-05 Thread Michal Hlavac
I tested this behaviour and discovered this:

Routes are pushed correctly with "Use this connection only for resources
on its network" settings when there is only one client from same network
connected to openvpn server. If there are more than one clients
connected from same network (router) it doesnt work.

Title:
  NetworkManager ignores pushed openvpn routes

Status in network-manager-openvpn package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Relevant information that may or may not have been included by ubuntu-
  bug:

  Ubuntu release 16.04
  Package network-manager 1.2.0-0ubuntu0.16.04.2
  Package network-manager-openvpn 1.1.93-1ubuntu1

NetworkManager ignores pushed openvpn routes when "Use this connection
only for resources on its network" is checked. This is a behavior
  change since 14.04.

  To repeat:

  1) Use an OpenVpn server that pushes routes. I suggest using a server
that pushes several routes since this makes their absence obvious.
Set up a NetworkManager VPN of type OpenVpn to this server. Select
"Use this connection only for resources on its network" in the
"Routes" section of the IPV4 options.

  2) Set up a raw OpenVpn connection to the same server.

  3) Connect to the server using the raw OpenVpn connection. The pushed
  routes are all there.

  4) Connect to the server using NetworkManager. The only route added
is a n interface level route to the tunnel device network.

Using the same setup on 14.04, all pushed routes are added.

The missing routes are also "Resources on the VPN network", and should be
added in the absence of further direction. Ignoring pushed routes should be
controlled by the "Ignore automatically obtained routes" checkbox.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1670193] [NEW] No audio on headphone ubuntu 16.04

2017-03-05 Thread Raúl Vidal
Public bug reported:

I upgraded from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS to Ubuntu 16.04 and I lost audio on the
headphone jack. Speakers work fine though.
I installed pavucontrol and that program has a sound level bar which moves
while playing sound with the headphones plugged in. So, PulseAudio effectively
detects sound. In addition to the files attached by the ubuntu-bug program I
have attached the output of alsa-info.sh.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1670177] [NEW] Cannot reconnect to my hidden network with plasma-nm on KUbuntu Trusty 14.04.5 LTS

2017-03-05 Thread Seb Bonnard
Public bug reported:

Hi,

After my ISP home router is being rebooted, my KUbuntu Trusty 14.04.5
LTS does neighter reconnect to my hidden wifi network automatically nor
manually with the Plasma NM applet.

The ONLY workaround I have found so far is by typing the following
command :

$ nmcli con up id MyWifi

knowing that "MyWifi" is my hidden wifi connection name in the applet
(my "ESSID" is different)

Btw, I'm using kernel "4.4.0-64-generic" and "plasma-nm" version
"0.9.3.3-0ubuntu1" :

$ lsb_release -sd
Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS
$ uname -r

$ apt-cache policy plasma-nm

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1670171] [NEW] Import SVG in Libreoffice Impress fails

Besides that some applications (for example the image viewer), when
asked to delete a photo only proposes the trash and not the immediate
deletion. So, we find these photos in the "pseudo-basket" and it must be
removed then to actually release the place

Bug description:
This is a similar 'bug' to #12893 but what I think there should be is
a check-box in the nautilus configuration that just says 'Disable the
  trash and delete files immediately'

I realize you can shift delete, but there should be a way to just
disable the trash all together. You can do this in both windows and
OSX so there is no reason it shouldn't be possible in Linux.

I believe the ideal situation would be the nautilus configuration as
it is now with two additional check-boxes:

  1. Disable the trash and delete files immediately.
  2. Disable the trash for removable media and delete files immediately.

Option two check-box would get greyed out when option 1 was checked.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1281250] Re: VNC accessible from non-linux machines only with encryption disabled

2017-03-05 Thread Varstamni Q
Iordane (Dancho), it is not a bug at all. It is inconvenient for me too,
but they are the developers of vnc clients for windows who do not do the
appropriate thing (add TLS support or so). To have default behavior not
to require encryption is a very bad idea basically. And you can disable
it by hand at any time.

Bug description:
Since a recent update, it is impossible to connect to my Ubuntu box
using VNC from a Windows machine unless I disable encryption on the
  vino server.

I tested up-to-date tightVNC client and TigerVNC client on the Windows
machine, with the same result. As soon I try to connect, I receive the
  following error:

  [ 5872/ 6448] 2014-01-20 12:11:18:247 List of security type is read
  [ 5872/ 6448] 2014-01-20 12:11:18:247 : Security Types received (1): Unknown

security types supported. Server sent security types, but we do not support any
of their.

So it seems that the update changed the security type of vino to a new
one. I searched for a way to go back to the old one (until the clients
  catches up) with no avail.

A solution is disabling the encryption completely, by

  gsettings set org.gnome.Vino require-encryption false

...but this is subotpimal. Is there a way to switch the encryption
  back to the old one?

  Test Case:
  - log into an unity session
  - copy a not too small file (so you have time to interact with the copy
dialog)
  - minimize the copy dialog
  - right click on the corresponding unity-launcher's icon, and pick "show copy
dialog"
-> the dialog should be displayed

  Regression testing:
Check that there is no focus issue with that dialog and the launcher

  --

While copying a large (8 gig) file across an SMB network, I minimized
it. The right click on the Nautilus Unity bar showed a "Show copy
dialog" item. Clicking on that item did nothing. The only way to get
the dialog back up was to open one of the two minimized Nautilus
windows and then minimize the one on top. After that minimize, then
the copy dialog was displayed on top of the other Nautilus window. I
couldn't find any way to get the copy dialog back on screen without
clicking around somewhat aimlessly displaying and minimizing Nautilus
windows until it appeared. The "Show copy dialog" right-click menu
  appeared to have no affect.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1657092] Re: deja-dup refers to "Files" instead of "Caja"

2017-03-05 Thread Naël
I'm still not convinced that this is worth a SRU, or qualifies for one.
The provision about "bugs which [...] (1) have an obviously safe patch
and (2) affect an application" in the SRU guidelines applies only to
bugs which have "high potential for improving the user experience", and
I'm just not sure this particular bug has high potential for that (just
potential).

Nevertheless, the debdiff looks good to me, if I understand it
correctly. Shouldn't you subscribe ubuntu-sponsors? Or they won't notice
it. (Again, IIUC.)

The Backups application's Overview screen says "You can restore the
entire backup with the Restore... button or use Files"

It should say "or use Caja", since the file manager in Mate has been
  renamed Caja.

  Screenshot attached.

  [Impact]
  * Users of Mate which use Déjà Dup get confused by the wrong terminology
regarding their file manager.
  * The upstream fix detects Mate desktops using XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP and fills
a new variable with "Caja" or "Files". That variable is included in the string
afterwards.

  [Test Case]
  * Open Déjà Dup inside Ubuntu Mate (launch "deja-dup-preferences" from a
terminal)
  * Install the necessary software by clicking the "Install..."-button.
  * Create a backup:
  - Choose a location on the "Storage Location" tab (or use the default
local folder)
  - On the "Overview" tab perform a backup using the button "Backup now"
  * On the "Overview" tab: Look at the description above the restore button.
  * It refers to Files instead of Caja

  [Regression Potential]
  * None that I am aware of. The worst case should be limited to a broken (or
untranslated) string in Déjà Dup itself.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1576394] Re: deja-dup package dependencies in 16.04

2017-03-05 Thread Naël
Yes, the suggested packages should not be made dependencies or
recommended packages (for Python 2 reasons).

However the OP and comments raise the issue that as of now, on-demand
installation of duplicity (or deja-dup-backend-gvfs) is only triggered
when one opens the deja-dup-preferences GUI and clicks the button that
says to install additional software. Other use cases, e.g. setting up
Déjà Dup by using gsettings on the command line or by restoring a
previous dconf database, are not covered and result in unfriendly error
messages. That should be fixed (with a friendly error message).

I think this bug report should be marked a duplicate of bug 1641423.

  deja-dup package dependencies in 16.04

Status in deja-dup package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
After a fresh install of Ubuntu 16.04 amd64 desktop, deja-dup did not
work with some existing backup settings.

I discovered duplicity was not installed... After manually installing
"duplicity", deja-dup still did not work (reporting error
"BackendException") and I discovered I needed to manually install
"python-gi" as well. Once these were installed, deja-dup began to work
  as expected.

Listing the dependencies of deja-dup (34.2-0ubuntu1) in Ubuntu 16.04
  gives the following:

  $ apt-cache depends deja-dup
  deja-dup
    Depends: libatk1.0-0
    Depends: libc6
    Depends: libdbusmenu-glib4
    Depends: libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0

  dconf-gsettings-backend
    Depends: adwaita-icon-theme
    Recommends: policykit-1

    Suggests: deja-dup-backend-cloudfiles
    Suggests: deja-dup-backend-gvfs
    Suggests: deja-dup-backend-s3
    Suggests: duplicity

As one of the popular backends to deja-dup, it might be helpful to
classify duplicity not as "suggests" but a "depends" package (even
though its nice to see other backends are also supported).

In addition, the deja-dup package should include the "python-gi"
package as a "depends" as well.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1577197] Re: Pulseaudio bluez5-util.c: TryAcquire() failed - Operation Not Authorized

2017-03-05 Thread lagerimsi
Hi there!

still got this problem with the KDE Neon distribution based upon Ubuntu
16.04.

Solved this problem with a little shell-script based on this thread:
http://askubuntu.com/questions/765233/pulseaudio-fails-to-set-card-
profile-to-a2dp-sink-how-can-i-see-the-logs-and

The script is attached.

FIRST OF ALL:
Change the devices MAC-address in the variable inside the script! (can be found
with "bluetoothctl" --> Device)

- Made a "chmod a-x bluetooth_headphone_reactivation.sh" to make it executable.

For automatic execution _at startup_ (only works if headset is already turned
on):

- Added the script to the start/shutdown scripts in KDEs' control panel

For fast manual execution:
- Added an entry to the application-starter (you can also set a keyboad
shortcut like "CTRL+ALT+H" and/or pin this starter to the window bar)

** Attachment added: "kde bluetooth headphone set a2dp_sink profile script
workaround"

broadband connection helped but it is not the right bugfix. Problem is
that network interface for wwan card is registered as wwp0s20f0u2i12 –
and exists file /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/wwp0s20f0u2i12/use_tempaddr. On
the other hand network manager sees device (according to “nmcli device”)
cdc-wdm0. Disabling consistent network device naming did not help – wwan
interface had name wwan0 after that. HW: Dell Latitude e5570, WWAN –

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1670036] Re: 4.0.6-2ubuntu01 has problems reading and writing JPEG compressed images

2017-03-05 Thread John Cupitt
Even Rouault on the libtiff mailing list has looked into this as well --
he says the cause is a misapplied patch.

Unfortunately i can't link to his mail as the libtiff mailing list
archive index has stopped being updated, but I copy-paste his mail
below:

Actually to reproduce, you need to apply the patches in a precise order
with

for i in `cat ../debian/patches/series`; do \
patch -p1 <../debian/patches/$i; done

I've then compared the patched libtiff/tif_dirread.c with the official
one from CVS, and I understand now what happens in Debian/Ubuntu.

It appears that the following snippet

  if( dp->tdir_count > 0 && data[dp->tdir_count-1] !=
'\0' )

{

TIFFWarningExt(tif->tif_clientdata,module,"ASCII value for tag \"%s\"
does not end in null byte. Forcing it to be null",fip->field_name);

data[dp->tdir_count-1] = '\0';

}

that in official libtiff is applied in the TIFF_SETGET_C16_ASCII cases
(line 5017 in HEAD) and in the TIFF_SETGET_C32_ASCII cases (line 5194 in
CVS HEAD) has been wrongly applied in Debian in the
TIFF_SETGET_C16_UINT8 case (line 5008) and TIFF_SETGET_C32_UINT8 case
(line 5180)...

This explains the warning about the JPEGTables...

Unfortunately "make check" in the Debian patched libtiff still passes,
so they have some excuse. Not so surprised since the test suite is
rather small.

Title:
4.0.6-2ubuntu01 has problems reading and writing JPEG compressed
  images

Status in tiff package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
The patches applied to libtiff 4.0.6 in 4.0.6-2ubuntu01 seem to break
  JPEG tiff read and write.

  To reproduce:

  $ tiffcp -c jpeg k2a.tif x.tif

(where k2a.tif is a simple uncompressed RGB strip tiff) appears to
work. However, x.tif, the output, will now not read without warnings:

  $ tiffcp x.tif y.tif
TIFFFetchNormalTag: Warning, ASCII value for tag "JPEGTables" does not end in
null byte. Forcing it to be null.
JPEGLib: Warning, Premature end of JPEG file.

This was working fine until a couple of days ago, so I guess it's one
  of the most recent patches.

Some packages using libtiff seem to be broken too. For example,
openslide, which uses libtiff to load jp2k-compressed slide images, is
  no longer working:

  $ openslide-write-png CMU-1-Small-Region.svs 0 0 0 100 100 x.png
TIFFFetchNormalTag: Warning, ASCII value for tag "JPEGTables" does not end in
null byte. Forcing it to be null.
TIFFFetchNormalTag: Warning, ASCII value for tag "JPEGTables" does not end in
null byte. Forcing it ... repeats 8 more times
openslide-write-png: Premature end of JPEG file

and x.png is not a valid PNG image. The test .svs image may be
  downloaded here:

  http://openslide.cs.cmu.edu/download/openslide-testdata/Aperio/

Title:
evince should display CSD headerbars for budgie-desktop

Status in evince package in Ubuntu:
  In Progress

Bug description:
budgie-desktop should display GNOME based CSD headerbars.

Due to the patching, it displays non GNOME based menus.

Attached is a patch to resolve this. It has been tested on multiple
  desktop environments;

It correctly displays a traditional menu bar for Unity.

For both GNOME-Shell and budgie-desktop CSD is displayed.

Note - I have taken the clean and consistent approach as the patching
  for gedit.

The extant traditional and unity patches are confused -
  DESKTOP_SESSION comparison is hard-coded for GNOME - budgie-desktop
uses the DESKTOP_SESSION of BUDGIE:GNOME. The traditional menu bar
patch is inconsistent and uses a completely different algorithm that
  doesnt work with budgie-desktop.

I have simplified the logic to just apply CSD for GNOME based desktops
  as per gedit patching.
