Ah, yes. Sorry but your bug 1726600 is a duplicate of bug 1505409. And I think this one is different to those two. It just means the wrong .crash file was sent... Please try following the steps in #15 again, or repeatedly, and we'll see if we can find an instance of this one. ** Changed in: gdm3 (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1697450 Title: Gnome Shell hangs at startup Status in gdm3 package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I'm trying to install from the daily Artful desktop image (20170612). [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1716654] Re: [System Product Name, Realtek ALC1220, Pink Mic, Rear] Underruns, dropouts or crackling sound
I wanted to add to the above, while the crackling was heavily present for youtube, an mp3 played in clementine, and an mp4 video file in smplayer, I ran ubuntu-bug -s audio, and the test tones were all clear, except for a brief moment of static at the very last second. I ran the test twice to confirm, and I reconfirmed that the crackling status was still present in all other sources. As above, typing pulseaudio -k and waiting a few seconds before restarting audio sources fixes it for an indeterminate amount of time. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to alsa-driver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1716654 Title: [System Product Name, Realtek ALC1220, Pink Mic, Rear] Underruns, dropouts or crackling sound Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Have checked under windows (same computer in dual-boot & same headset), and the sound is crystal clear, so 99% sure this is not a hardware problem. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1716654] Re: [System Product Name, Realtek ALC1220, Pink Mic, Rear] Underruns, dropouts or crackling sound
I am also affected by this bug. my system uses these codecs /proc/asound/card0/codec#0:Codec: ATI R6xx HDMI /proc/asound/card1/codec#0:Codec: Realtek ALC1220 on an Asus Prime x370a Pro motherboard with a ryzen 1600X. This problem was first observed in Ubuntu 16.04.3, with kernel 4.4 and the 1201 bios for this board. The board is now running 3401, and Ubuntu 17.10, in order to have access to a more recent kernel. I installed the hwe update to 16.04 first, bringing my kernel version to 4.10 or 4.11, but it made the login screen and all terminals distorted and unreadable, so I was unable to test in that state - a state repeated after the clean install of 17.10, but which I found was due to ubuntu trying to set an ultra wide resolution to my 4k monitor, and being unable to display 4k i I corrected by switching from HDMI to Display Link Cable. In the prior configuration I confirmed that the distortion occurred over the HDMI to my monitor speakers, as well as over the analog jack output. In my case, the distortion sounds identical to the recording made by Gargoyle above, and seemed to come and go in 16.04.3. using pulseaudio -k in a terminal gets rid of the problem for 10 minutes to several hours (or, perhaps it comes and goes away on its own and i miss it). In addition, if it is of consequence, I had been running Ubuntu 16.04 since launch on a Gigabyte X58A-UD3R board's sound with no problems. After swapping the board to the Asus prime X370a pro 3 weeks ago, this problem appeared. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1740746] [NEW] No ethernet after installing ubuntu 17.10 due to MAC address problem
Public bug reported: When doing a fresh install of Ubuntu 17.10 I notice that the installer didn't detect my wired ethernet correctly. I went through with the installation and I could still not connect to the internet. In the network settings I found that the MAC address was incorrect. It was set to ED:0B:00:00:E0:00 which is not the correct MAC address. My previous installation of Ubuntu 16.04 could find the correct MAC address automatically. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1720594] Re: Right click Files in launcher unity ubuntu 18.04
Yes, it's a known issue. The quicklist bookmark plugin only works if the application is running. In previous versions Nautilus and nautilus- desktop were combined into a single package. But two are different processes and only nautilus-desktop is running. Dynamic quicklist can only work on Nautilus the app itself. One possible solution is to use static quicklist for bookmarks. But Unity may not use nautilus in future versions. So I am marking it as low importance. ** Branch unlinked: lp:~unity7maintainers/ubuntu-seeds/ubuntu- unity.bionic ** Summary changed: - Right click Files in launcher unity ubuntu 18.04 + Dynamic quicklist doesn't work without nautilus running 18.04 ** Package changed: unity (Ubuntu) => nautilus (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1720594 Title: Dynamic quicklist doesn't work without nautilus running 18.04 Status in Unity: New Status in nautilus package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Unity don't work like expect since gnome turn default. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1553669] Re: Annoying "call from" message when connecting Bose devices
This problem is still present in Ubuntu 17.10. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to pulseaudio in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1553669 Title: Annoying "call from" message when connecting Bose devices Status in bluez package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I have a bluetooth Bose OE SoundLink working on Kubuntu 15.10 but each time I initially connect to listen to an audio or video, I hear an annoying "Call from" on my headset. My headset seems to think a connection to a phone call is taking place. This is annoying because the audio will start to play and after a little while the "call from" voice talks over the audio.
