[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1510339] Re: 5GHz network is not available after suspend by closing lid

2016-07-06 Thread Charles Profitt
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1585863 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1585863

1) If anything bug #1585863 is a duplicate of this bug -- this one was
reported first. This bug reported 2015-10-26 and #1585863 2016-05-25

2) This is different hardware than #1585863 so even though the result
is the same I am not certain that this should be a duplicate.

Bug description:
  Hello

since some days (tuesday, at least), each mail sent with evolution and
containing an attachment file in PDF format is not really sent. It is
saved into my SENT box but it is not really sent (no recipient
  receives the message).

I do some tests with different file formats and the problem seems to
appear only with PDF files (new or old files). The size of the files
seems to play no role in the problem.

  My config:
  - ubuntu 15.04 64 bits
  - evolution 3.12.11
  - gnome

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1306843] Re: Lenovo X230 Mute Button Does Not Mute Sound

2014-04-12 Thread Charles Profitt
It could be... hard to tell from the description. During 14.04 testing I
have had fully working sound and sound controls, no sound, and now sound
is working, but mute doesn't actually mute sound. Volume up and down
work. All sound control displays the proper notification on the screen,
but mute does not actually mute the sound.

I just updated my testing box and the behavior now is that the screen

I agree with Jim - this is a critical component IMHO. I will not upgrade
to this version unless the issue is fixed. This is especially true in an

gnome-screensaver is installed and it is version 3.6.1

However instead of getting the normal dialog box user name and password

lightdm doesn't load correctly on Ubuntu 12.10

Status in “lightdm” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Ubuntu 12.10 doesn't load correctly because lightdm shows only a mouse
pointer and a blinking command-line cursor.
I don't know if this is only Ubuntu 12.10 specific bug, because a similar
error appeared on my friend's computer back in 2011 on Ubuntu 11.10. However,
switching to a command line and restarting lightdm solves the problem per
instance. Also rebooting the device solves it, but also only for the specific
boot. Another reboot ends with the same black screen with a working mouse
pointer and a blinking cursor.

I am using Asus Zenbook ux32vd (Intel HD Graphics 4000 + not used
  Nvidia GT620M - Optimus technology).

2012-10-20 Thread Charles Profitt
In order to complete this you will need to have the following python-
launchpadlib installed.

sudo apt-get install python-launchpadlib

that will install and allow apport-collect to function.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 855620] Re: calendar applet: double-clicking on a date no longer opens Evolution to that date

2011-10-19 Thread Charles Profitt
To clarify it is the small calendar that is the wrong date. However if I
select the 'add event...' option the small calendar is accurate. I was
thinking this was an issue with the applet until I found this report
that is on standard Gnome.

I used software center and verified that it does report version 10 and
used Synaptic to check what was installed and it was marked as the 32bit
package.

version as version 11.0.1.152-0oneiric1 in the description but the
title says Adobe flash 10 which is another bug in software centre.

To actually obtain Adobe flash 64 bit version 11 for Ubuntu 11.10 go
