It could be... hard to tell from the description. During 14.04 testing I have had fully working sound and sound controls, no sound, and now sound is working, but mute doesn't actually mute sound. Volume up and down work. I just updated my testing box and the behavior now is that the screen locks with inactivity for the specified time limit, but no screen blank. I don't know if this is only Ubuntu 12.10 specific bug, because a similar error appeared on my friend's computer back in 2011 on Ubuntu 11.10. However, switching to a command line and restarting lightdm solves the problem per instance. Also rebooting the device solves it, but also only for the specific boot. Another reboot ends with the same black screen with a working mouse pointer and a blinking cursor. I am using Asus Zenbook ux32vd (Intel HD Graphics 4000 + not used Nvidia GT620M - Optimus technology). To clarify it is the small calendar that is the wrong date. However if I select the 'add event...' option the small calendar is accurate. It reports the version as version 11.0.1.152-0oneiric1 in the description but the title says Adobe flash 10 which is another bug in software centre.
