For example Figure 1 shows the Passswords and Encryption keys manual program
window having 4 tabs. This is not true. In Ubuntu 12.04.1 and even in Ubuntu
10.04.4 the program window has only 3 tabs, and there are no "First time
options" on it.

I expect an up-to-date manual and not a manual that is more than 2
  years old and outdated.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 996732] [NEW] LibreOffice Base 3.5.2.2 freezes when exporting a very large table to a Calc spreadsheet

2012-05-08 Thread Detlef Lechner
Public bug reported:

LibreOffice Base 3.5.2.2 and Calc freeze after ~14 mins when exporting data of
a very large (~100 MB) table from an embedded HSQLDB to a LibreOffice Calc
spreadsheet. For this, I am using the procedure outlined in LibreOffice Help.
I can move the cursor after the LibreOffice freeze though.
Top showed a processor load of 102% on average. Memory usage increased slowly
from ~9% to 14%.
Exporting a small (~10 kB) table works all right though.
For closer analyzing this bug please let me know if I need to install the DEB
program package libreoffice-dbg and repeat the export,
or what should I do to support debugging.

Title:
LibreOffice Base 3.5.2.2 freezes when exporting a very large table to
  a Calc spreadsheet

Status in “libreoffice” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
LibreOffice Base 3.5.2.2 and Calc freeze after ~14 mins when exporting data
of a very large (~100 MB) table from an embedded HSQLDB to a LibreOffice Calc
spreadsheet.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 994753] [NEW] LibreOffice Base Help text is missing icons (regression)

2012-05-04 Thread Detlef Lechner
Public bug reported:

LibreOffice Base Help text does not show icons. Instead, it shows at
each place a rectangle. the rectangle encloses a designator
»vnd.sun.st«. This is a regression as OpenOffice Base in Ubuntu 10.04.4

I expect that the LibreOffice Base Help text will show icons just when I
press the Help > LibreOffice Base Help menu item.

mounted. Banshee simply displays contents of its internal database without
checking if Banshee can play these pieces of music. The user is perplexed that

to call the Track Editor > File Size: and look for "-1" to find that the music

I expect that Banshee only shows the names of pieces of music which it

I'd appreciate if Banshee made suggestions as to what could cause that pressing
the button »Play current element« will be futile.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 912501] [NEW] Banshee uses a delicate OGG decoder

2012-01-05 Thread Detlef Lechner
Public bug reported:

I downloaded an Ogg Vorbis [AO; aoTUV b4b 20051117] based on Xiph.Org's
libVorbis)]: 104 kbps, 44100 Hz, stereo audio radio stream. Banshee does not
play this file correctly: It has drop-outs of rather long durations (longer
than 100 ms) while Audacious plays this file without objections.
I expect that Banshee will use a similar robust OGG decoder as Audacious.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 906419] [NEW] Banshee's album browser does not show the album's thumbnail although it is shown above to the right of the progress bar

2011-12-19 Thread Detlef Lechner
Public bug reported:

Banshee's album browser does not show the album's thumbnail but the album's
thumbnail is shown above to the right of the progress bar for each file of the
album.
The .jpg thumbnail file exists in the album's directory.
I expect that Banshee does show the album's thumbnail too unconditionally.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 887009] [NEW] 'man 1 gnome-keyring-daemon' is not informative

2011-11-06 Thread Detlef Lechner
Public bug reported:

'man 1 gnome-keyring-daemon' is not informative. It fulfills only the
requirement that thereis a manpage for this executable. But it gives not enough
information for a user to use this daemon intelligently and efficiently.
I expect that this manpage contains useful information for an intelligent usage
of gnome-keyring-daemon.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 876309] Re: Banshee 2.2.0-1ubuntu2 in active "Background" mode does not show any symbol on the screen image

2011-10-17 Thread Detlef Lechner
** Description changed:

My Banshee 2.2.0-1ubuntu2 is playing music pieces one after the other but
does not show any symbol of its activity on the screen image, neither when
tabbing Alt+Tab nor in the top screen line to the right nor in the bottom right.
In contrast, even NetworkManager leaves a symbol on the screen image.
I expect that Banshee shows a small symbol on the screen image if actively
playing music even if Banshee is in background mode.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 866110] Re: Banshee 2.2. does not import the requested files but others instead

2011-10-06 Thread Detlef Lechner
> Could you provide more details, for example, what files were added

I run Banshee > Media > Import Media > (Import Media to Library) > Import from:
Files > Choose Files > I selected '/media/WD1.5_1/Music/Essential Mozart
CD1/02-Serenade in G Major, II. Romance,andante.ogg' through
'/media/WD1.5_1/Music/Essential Mozart CD1/13 - Posthorn Serenade in D
major,VII. Finale presto.ogg' {11 files altogether} > Import.
Surprisingly, Banshee did not import these 11 files but other 12 files. The
names of these 12 files I can find also in ~/Musik/.
So this command not only has imported 12 files to the Banshee library but also
copied to ~/Musik/ .
The first file which Banshee imported to its library was '/Mozart: Serenaden
KV525,239, 320/Serenade in G Major, II. Romance,andante'.

> , and what files were excluded?

I do not know what do you mean by this question. All files that I tried
to import, have not been imported. Others have been imorted instead.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 864723] [NEW] Banshee does not show imported music files.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 864482] [NEW] Banshee's time arithmetic is in error

But at another place (progress bar) Banshee reports about the same file: "time=

At a third place (last row = status bar) Banshee reports: "220 songs - 116 days

Several of these numbers are inconsistent due to a wrong time arithmetic.

Opening a new bug because this seems to be the first Oneiric beta1
