[Desktop-packages] [Bug 2038656] Re: Proxy settings are changed after switching off

2023-10-06 Thread Jarek Jaryszew
It does seam similar to that GNOME bug.

I am using the 23.04, so I guess I will be able to test the fix soon.

Title:
Proxy settings are changed after switching off

Status in gnome-control-center package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Preconditions:
  - Having an access to a actual http(s) proxy would allow to perform test with
actual network traffic, but the bug is reproducible without it.

  Steps to reproduce:
  1. Go to Settings -> Network -> Proxy
  2a. Switch on the proxy
2b. Change proxy configuration to manual
2c. Set http and https proxy ip and port
2d. Make sure there are multiple entries on a list of ignored hosts, for
example: localhost,127.0.0.0/8,::1
  2e. Press end.
  3. If it is possible make sure that the proxy settings have been apllied
  4a. Turn off the proxy.
4b. Please tests with proxy settings page left open in a background and with
settings closed.
  5. Wait. I have not got the time to measure how much time is exactly needed.
5 minutes should be alright.
  6. Go to proxy settings and switch ut on.

  Expected reult:
Settings remain the same. Configuration is set to "manual" and ignored host
list did not change.

  Actual result:
Proxy settings were changed. Configuration is again "automatic" and there are
extra commas on ignored hosts list.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 2025079] [NEW] Entire Wayland session crashes when sharing screen during videocall

2023-06-26 Thread Jarek Jaryszew
Public bug reported:

Preconditions:
- Connect external monitor (not sure if necessary)
- Have a Google Chrome o Microsoft Edge installed (did not test it with
Chromium and Firefox)
- Have access to at least 2 Gmail accounts to be able to use Meet (did not yet
experience it with other videoconference systems)

Steps to reproduce:
- have a Google Meet call with someone else (does not reproduce when only I
join the meeting)
- click share the screen
- select entire monitor
- select external monitor

Symptomps:
- Entire Wayland session freezes and after few stutters the entire system
reboots

Does not reproduce after uncommenting WaylandEnable=false in
/etc/gdm3/custom.conf.

Pretty certain that amdgpu is the culprit as never experienced this on
Intel/Nvidia. Attached journal from the boot that ended in system crash.

I suspected this should go to AMD Kernel team. Lots of people
complaining about changes AMD has been making for some time.

Can you redirect this error, or should I report it somewhere else?

My optimism was to early. Journal dump attached. Took it after
unplugging one of the monitors and waiting few flickers for desktop to
stabilize.

Btw, were should I report that Slack crashes when I right click inside?

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 2023647] Re: Screens go into flicker cycle after going blank with external monitor(s)

2023-06-15 Thread Jarek Jaryszew
I'll try to find some time during the weekend to reproduce it with
Wayland. I am using this PC for work during the week and Wayland keeps
crashing with entire session whenever I am in a videocall. :)

Title:
Screens go into flicker cycle after going blank with external
  monitor(s)

Status in Mutter:
  New
Status in mutter package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
This happens whenever screen goes blank after inactivity with external
  monitors.

When there is only one external monitor after few cycles the system
  recovers from the bug.

When there are more than one monitors the system almost never recovers
until unplugging extra monitor, as shown in video:
  https://photos.app.goo.gl/td6coEKFQd3DKe9C7

Happens on desktop and login screen. The same result with Wayland and
X11. Does not depend on size of the monitor, cable (HDMI or USB-C) or
is it connected via USB-C hub or directly.

2023-06-14 Thread Jarek Jaryszew
As requested attaching a result of a journalctl -b0 command.

This happened after renaming monitor.xml and monitor.xml~ so
unfortunaltely that does not help.

** Attachment added: "journal.txt"
