[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1393902] Re: GOOG search credit flag isn't always in search queries
I think that the sometimes factor is actually whether the profile is currently logged into Google Services. If I log out of Google and do the search, I get the client string. If I log back in, when I search again, there is no string. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to chromium-browser in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1393902 Title: GOOG search credit flag isn't always in search queries Status in “chromium-browser” package in Ubuntu: In Progress Bug description: We expect client=ubuntu or client=browser-ubuntu in every GOOG search query URL. Changing to High because this does not impact RTM hardware ** Changed in: pulseaudio (Ubuntu) Importance: Critical = High -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to pulseaudio in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1318360 Title: Poor microphone quality (mako) Status in “pulseaudio” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: After months of complaints from people talking to me on the phone (mako ubuntu touch), I finally got around to use multiROM to dual boot Ubuntu Touch and Android. Several people can confirm that there is a noticable difference in terms of sound/microphone quality between Android and UT in phone calls. With UT, my voice gets distorted to an extent that person at the other end have real difficulties to hear what I am saying, while with Android call quality is much better with no distortion. I have had a suspicion for a long time that this might be a software and not a hardware issue. After trying Android and Ubuntu on the same hardware I believe this suspicion is proved correct. This issue has persisted in all the builds I have tried since at least the beginning of the year, but probably longer. I am now at r17 of Utopic. SW center was showing the screen for the app I tried to purchase/install (Command Conquer Tiberium Alliances). From that screen I clicked Reinstall Previous Purchases from the FIle menu. I was presented with a screen asking me to login to Launchpad. I chose cancel instead of logging in to LP. Expected results: I expected to see either the screen I was looking at (the app I was looking at previously) or the home page of SW center Actual results: The main SW center UI was cleared out, no longer showing the screen for my app. Instead it's a blank, grey panel with the large spinning 'wait' cursor (see attached screenshot). It's stuck in this state, and has been for a couple minutes. The app clearly isn't going to do anything on its own, despite the wait cursor. To get SW center out of this state I clicked the Installed button then the All Software button. The UI is now back to normal. The UI was never blocked, it just wasn't doing anything. Oddly, if I took a screenshot, the applications and background show up in the screenshot. Opening display preferences and mirroring the displays did not change this, the second display continued to show a black background and nothing but a menu bar, however reverting to the previous configuration rather than keeping the mirrored configuration fixed the problem. The machine is set to lock the screen after inactivity; the screen was locked for most of this time. When I returned to the machine and unlocked the screen, I had *82* (I counted...) identical Authorization required dialogs onscreen (see attached screenshot). Each dialog contained a request to connect to a network that I had previously connected to. Each request was for the same network - n-m was asking about the same network 82 times, not asking to connect to 82 different networks. I have observed the same or similar behavior in in 11.10: When roaming to a new network, network-manager finds a new network then asks for permission to connect to it, even if you've already connected to that network in the past. If you do not answer the prompt, network-manager displays a new prompt after a minute or two. I believe this is a result of scanning for networks while not associated - n-m seems to put up a new dialog if (a) it's not associated and (b) it finds a network to connect to. This happens regardless of whether a dialog is already onscreen. network-manager should avoid throwing up an authorization dialog if a dialog is already onscreen. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 923749] Re: New push mouse offscreen feature really difficult to get
I've tested this feature with a mouse and 2 trackpads, in single screen and multi-monitor situations. This feature is easiest to use when set to High sensitivity. I think it would make sense to make High the default, and allow users who are getting too many false positives to back that off if necessary. Works best means: 1. It's easiest to reveal the launcher, and I think more discoverable (won't have as many people thinking the launcher is broken). 2. It's fastest to reveal the launcher. With the default setting, it is a long process to make the launcher reveal. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/923749 Title: New push mouse offscreen feature really difficult to get Status in Unity: Triaged Status in Unity Distro Priority: Fix Committed Status in “gnome-control-center” package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Status in “gnome-control-center” source package in Precise: Fix Released Status in “unity” source package in Precise: Triaged Bug description: In unity 5.2 RC1: - revealing the launcher by putting mouse on the edge and pushing seems very hard (the distance to push it long). Especially when you drag a window using the trackpad. Also, when you put your mouse on the central point slowly to go to monitor 2, you get stuck even if you believe that the mouse is already on the monitor 2 (because there is one pixel left on monitor 1 and the whole cursor is drawn on monitor 2) This is on a dell Latitute XT2, with default mouse velocity option. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 921520] Re: Locally stored application icons don't scale well, literally and figuratively
This bug report seems to be more of a discussion, so setting it as such in the Ubuntu project ** Changed in: software-center (Ubuntu) Status: New = Opinion ** Changed in: software-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Low -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to software-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/921520 Title: Locally stored application icons don't scale well, literally and figuratively Status in Online service used by software center: New Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu: Opinion Bug description: Currently USC uses icons delivered by app-install-data-ubuntu for applications in Main and Universe, app-install-data-partner for applications in Partner, and the icon_url property in the Json for commercial applications. Unfortunately, the app-install-data* packages don't include icons that would be appropriate for the 96*96px space on the software item screen, because that would increase the size of those packages. So it shows a small icon scaled up, which looks ugly. It would be simpler and more scalable if USC got the icons for any package, regardless of source, from a server in a consistent way. Perhaps USC would request something like http://software-center.ubuntu.com/icons/ubuntu/dists/precise/main/s/stellarium?size=96 or http://software-center.ubuntu.com/icons/96/ubuntu/dists/precise/main/s/stellarium, and the the server would return the icon of the nearest size to what was requested. If USC requested any size that there wasn't an exact icon for, but there was an SVG icon available, maybe the server would redirect to the SVG one (so that USC could realize oh, I have that cached already). [Desktop-packages] [Bug 923749] Re: New push mouse offscreen feature really difficult to get
I discovered today that the speed at which I point with the trackpad is a critical factor. If I do it slowly, it causes the launcher to appear more easily. Also, I am using a Dell Mini 10v, with a bog standard, trackpad.
