[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1029289] Re: Need to authorize my google account each time I boot the computer

2014-09-08 Thread Ruben Rocha
Just to add that i use 12.04 with evolution on my workstation and
everytime i reboot the evolution-data-server asks for the google
calendar password. So will evolution-data-server on 12.04 be fixed also?

[Test Case] Disable/re-enable your Google account. When affected by
this bug, a notification will appear and you'll be asked to enter your
Google password in the Online Accounts panel in System Settings.

[Regression Potential] Minimal: the fix is a backport of a patch from
the evolution-data-server code which is already in 14.10, and which
only touches the calendar code (which is currently broken).

[Test Case] Sometimes after one day, sometimes after one week, the

as needing reauthentication. Time can vary, but any period shorter
than one month is a symptom of the bug.

[Regression Potential] Minimal: the change to the Google plugin (in
account-plugins) simply changes the authentication method, in a way
that is well-documented. The change in signon-plugin-oauth2 affects
only those accounts/providers which use the OAuth refresh tokens --
which is only Google, at the moment -- and in a way that can't
possibly break any existing functionality; if the new code had some
mistake, the refresh token would be unusable and the system would
automatically fall back to requesting a new access token (which is
exactly what happens now, with this bug).

  I'll try to find why the account-plugins package was not uploaded;
indeed, both are required in order to fix this bug.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1029289] Re: Need to authorize my google account each time I boot the computer

2014-09-06 Thread Ruben Rocha
The upstream developers have fixed it

Shouldnt the LTS version be fixed first and get almost all the attention
from developers? Also 12.04.5 has a major flaw if you try to install
virtualbox... the kernel module isnt yet available. Another LTS fail.

Everything is going the wrong way with ubuntu...

Facebook's API has changed the data structure returned. There is no longer a
count of total number of likes provided. This causes a parse error in the
gwibber.

  [Test case]
To reproduce this bug, ensure you have a facebook account configured and
attempt a refresh. The parse failure prevents any new feed data from being
stored in gwibber.

To verify the fix, ensure there is a facebook account configured and
refresh the feed. You should see recent content in your feed.

  [Regression potential]
Very low, right now all refresh attempts will fail to parse the result
meaning nothing
gets stored. Any problems with the included fix would result in the same
failure.

There are problems again with gwibber and facebook. The facebook feed does
not refresh.

The error this time is that there is no "count" key when receiving the
  facebook feed:

  Traceback (most recent call last):
    File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gwibber/microblog/dispatcher.py",
line 81, in run

    File "/usr/share/gwibber/plugins/facebook/__init__.py", line 224, in

  m["likes"]["count"] = data["likes"]["count"]
  KeyError: 'count'

My solution was to edit the file
/usr/share/gwibber/plugins/facebook/__init__.py and from line 224 to
231 delete any instance of ["count"]. Save file and reboot. The
facebook feed now refreshes and appears in gwibber.

Twitter's API now enforces SSL for all requests, which makes the gwibber
account dialog fail to load the login page when adding an account.

  [Test case]
Open the accounts dialog and attempt to add a new twitter account.

  [Regression potential]
Very low, the change is required in order to load the authentication panel
for adding
an account. Without the fix it doesn't load at all, just displaying a line
of
text stating that SSL is required.

  Ubuntu 12.04.4
Adding a Twitter account from gwibber does not open the twitter authorization
page.

Twitter now only accepts SSL connections.

After inspecting the code on gwibber-service-twitter files i found the
  problem.

  File /usr/share/gwibber/plugins/twitter/gtk/twitter/__init__.py

Line 78 and 144 - Needs to be "https" where it states "http"

  File /usr/share/gwibber/plugins/twitter/__init__.py

Line 401 - Needs to be "https" where it states "http"

Editing these files with the previous fix makes adding a twitter
  account working again.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1287217] [NEW] Gwibber does not complete new facebook account authorization

2014-03-03 Thread Ruben Rocha
Public bug reported:

When adding a new facebook account gwibber does not complete
authorization on facebook page. It displays APP NOT SETUP.

I found a solution for this problem. Just use the Ubuntu facebook app
key instead of gwibber app key that is not setup.

Edit the file
/usr/share/gwibber/plugins/facebook/gtk/facebook/__init__.py

On line 101 replace FB_APP_KEY with 302061903208115

Save the file and then restart the add facebook account process. It will
add your facebook account without errors.

Title:
Gwibber does not complete new facebook account authorization

Status in “gwibber” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
When adding a new facebook account gwibber does not complete
authorization on facebook page. It displays APP NOT SETUP.

I found a solution for this problem. Just use the Ubuntu facebook app
key instead of gwibber app key that is not setup.

  Edit the file
  /usr/share/gwibber/plugins/facebook/gtk/facebook/__init__.py

  On line 101 replace FB_APP_KEY with 302061903208115

Save the file and then restart the add facebook account process. It
will add your facebook account without errors.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1287211] [NEW] Gwibber does not refresh Facebook feed

2014-03-03 Thread Ruben Rocha
Public bug reported:

There are problems again with gwibber and facebook. The facebook feed
does not refresh.

The error this time is that there is no "count" key when receiving the
facebook feed:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gwibber/microblog/dispatcher.py", line
81, in run
message_data = PROTOCOLS[account["service"]].Client(account)(opname, **args)
File "/usr/share/gwibber/plugins/facebook/__init__.py", line 253, in __call__
return getattr(self, opname)(**args)
File "/usr/share/gwibber/plugins/facebook/__init__.py", line 268, in receive
return [self._message(post) for post in data["data"]]
File "/usr/share/gwibber/plugins/facebook/__init__.py", line 224, in _message
m["likes"]["count"] = data["likes"]["count"]
KeyError: 'count'

My solution was to edit the file
/usr/share/gwibber/plugins/facebook/__init__.py and from line 224 to 231
delete any instance of ["count"]. Save file and reboot. The facebook
feed now refreshes and appears in gwibber.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1286639] [NEW] Gwibber not adding Twitter account

2014-03-01 Thread Ruben Rocha
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 12.04.4
Adding a Twitter account from gwibber does not open the twitter authorization
page.

Twitter now only accepts SSL connections.

After inspecting the code on gwibber-service-twitter files i found the
problem.

File /usr/share/gwibber/plugins/twitter/gtk/twitter/__init__.py

Line 78 and 144 - Needs to be "https" where it states "http"

File /usr/share/gwibber/plugins/twitter/__init__.py

Line 401 - Needs to be "https" where it states "http"

Editing these files with the previous fix makes adding a twitter account
working again.

Bug description:
Since around November 28th, Gwibber stopped updating my Facebook
feeds. First, I tried to delete my facebook account from online
accounts and than uninstall and reinstall gwibber. Then, I removed
ubuntu from facebook app settings after doing all of the above. Then I
checked my proxy settings, and my proxy is on none. When I open
gwibber, I see feeds that are 12-13 days old and when I try to
refresh, it does not do anything. I mean it does not even write
refreshing... at the bottom of the screen. When I check if gwibber-
service is running correctly I get no mistake in the terminal. I've
looked a lot around bugs sections in many sites but none of them had
  an answer.

  Steps to verify this SRU:
  [Test Case]
Ensure gwibber-service has restarted since the update by either a
logout/login or "killall gwibber-service", then verify there is feed data for
your facebook account.

  [Regression Potential]
Regression potential is really low, it simply checks that the dict returned
has a key, and if it doesn't use an empty value for the result.

I installed 12.10 yesterday on one machine and after the updates there
is no stream on facebook with gwibber. Did the fixes go to main update
or are they on proposed?

Ensure gwibber-service has restarted since the update by either a
logout/login or "killall gwibber-service", then verify there is feed
  data for your facebook account.

Regression potential is really low, it simply checks that the dict
returned has a key, and if it doesn't use an empty value for the
  result.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1088775] Re: gwibber does not refresh Facebook feeds

2012-12-14 Thread Ruben Rocha
This problem is affecting all versions of ubuntu with gwibber. The
problem with adding the facebook account also is related to the facebook
api allocation limits and there was no need to fix that issue. When the
facebook api allocation is fixed for the gwibber and ubuntu app on
facebook, all the issues are fixed.

Its a very annoying problem since its happening on an application
shipped by default with the OS.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1084325] Re: Gwibber's Facebook receive operation fails

2012-12-13 Thread Ruben Rocha
After some searching the problem is related to the facebook api and how
gwibber works with facebook. I think the Ubuntu facebook app limit has
been reached. Same thing happened and is happening in previous versions
of ubuntu with gwibber because the Gwibber facebook app limit has been
reached.

The solution is to create a new app token on facebook, change the code
on gwibber facebook service and it will work for some time until the
limit is reached again.

Gwibber was working fine with facebook until last week on 12.10 as
opposed to 12.04 that the facebook account would not add to the accounts
list.

On 12.10 no data is being received on gwibber from the facebook account
but if you post something from gwibber it will send ok.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1058672] Re: Can't add my Facebook account

2012-12-08 Thread Ruben Rocha
The problem we have with the facebok accounts is that on 12.10 gwibber
connects to the new "Ubuntu" app on facebook to stream content. On
previous versions (12.04, 10.04...) gwibber connects to the "Gwibber"
app on facebook wich doesnt exist anymore.

Is there any way to change the code so that gwibber on 12.04 connects to
the new "Ubuntu" app on facebook? This will solve the problem.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1058672] Re: Can't add my Facebook account

2012-10-25 Thread Ruben Rocha
The problem lies on the facebook app. This app was removed on facebook
and because gwibber need this facebook app to do sign in and update
people status, it doesnt work.

In ubuntu 12.10 it works because gwibber or gnome uses other facebook
app to do the job.

The fix is changing the gwibber code to use the new facebook app as it
happens on ubuntu 12.10.

If there is a fix i hope it will be across the board for all gwibber
users, including me on lucid 10.04.
