First, I tried to delete my facebook account from online accounts and than uninstall and reinstall gwibber. Then, I removed ubuntu from facebook app settings after doing all of the above. Then I checked my proxy settings, and my proxy is on none. When I open gwibber, I see feeds that are 12-13 days old and when I try to refresh, it does not do anything. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1084325] Re: Gwibber's Facebook receive operation fails
After some searching the problem is related to the facebook api and how gwibber works with facebook. I think the Ubuntu facebook app limit has been reached. Same thing happened and is happening in previous versions of ubuntu with gwibber because the Gwibber facebook app limit has been reached. The solution is to create a new app token on facebook, change the code on gwibber facebook service and it will work for some time until the limit is reached again. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gwibber in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1084325 Title: Gwibber's Facebook receive operation fails Status in Gwibber: New Status in “gwibber” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Fresh install of ubuntu 12.10 as of today, all updates installed. The problem lies on the facebook app. This app was removed on facebook and because gwibber need this facebook app to do sign in and update people status, it doesnt work. In ubuntu 12.10 it works because gwibber or gnome uses other facebook app to do the job. The fix is changing the gwibber code to use the new facebook app as it happens on ubuntu 12.10. Public bug reported: Noticed the icons "Privacy" and "Backup" in System Settings are swapped. Dont know if this is really a bug but it makes more sense the backup icon being the one with the "back in time clock" and the backup icon being the "safe" icon.
