[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1769893] Re: CUPS Unauthorized when using Chrome browser in Ubuntu 18.04

2019-01-09 Thread Terrance
I have found that version 2.2.8 that comes with Ubuntu 18.10 works fine.
I downloaded and installed it into Ubuntu 18.04 from
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups/2.2.8-5ubuntu1.2 and it asked
for login and all admin functions were working as expected.

Title:
Incorrect licenses listed in the GNOME Software for Snap Apps.

Status in gnome-software package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I am using Chromium as an example right now. The license for
applications like Chromium are listed incorrectly in the GNOME
Software store. On the snapcraft.io site Chromium is listed as "Other
Open Source", but in the GNOME Software store it is listed as
  "Proprietary".

On a side note, is there a way to filter the Snap Apps with the plug-
in as well in the GNOME Software center?

One way around this is to run `ssh localhost` in the terminal window
then it works.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1747198] [NEW] who or w command produces no tty information about terminal

2018-02-03 Thread Terrance
Public bug reported:

~$ lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS
Release:16.04

~$ apt-cache policy gnome-terminal
gnome-terminal:
  Installed: 3.18.3-1ubuntu1

  Version table:
 *** 3.18.3-1ubuntu1 500

100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

When running the `who` or `w` commands in a gnome-terminal window, it is
not shown. Nor can you send a write username [tty] command to the
gnome-terminal that is open.

>From the gnome-terminal:

~$ tty

~$ write terrance /dev/pts/7

~$ tty

~$ write terrance /dev/pts/6

This seems to be only showing problems in the gnome-terminal. Any other
terminal I have tried has worked successfully.

Re: [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1051935] Re: Fails with SystemError when too many files are open

2013-08-27 Thread Terrance Curry
What? it looks like this was submitted September 2012
almost a year ago..?
I have moved on ubuntu 13.04 or whatever...

But I still cannot get Wine to work well with Windows applications
like Slingbox. I cannot even use Slingbox via the web browsers under
Linux. I have to use Windows or Mac OS... which is fine with me.
Ubuntu is just for play anyway, nothing serious.

@Jason, your branches look good to me. Would you mind submitting a
