Title:
Delay before you can type after switching input source

Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
In ubuntu 18.04 I installed different keyboard languages: spanish
latin american, japanese, japanese-ibus. To change the input method
you press the selected key, and an indicator menu appears on-screen to
indicate which language is selected next. The menu disapears after
2~3 seconds and during which time typing is blocked. If you type
while the language input method menu is displayed, the menu will not
disapear and stay as long as you type.

The language input menu should not block typing, and the disapearance
of the menu should not be delayed by typing.

Have you tried removing default 400 ms switcher delay?

gsettings set org.freedesktop.ibus.general switcher-delay-time -1

Status in “rhythmbox” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
When playing a song with Rhythmbox, I can pause and resume the played
song using the controls on the Gnome-Shell indicator. However, pausing
a song does not toggle the control to resume (normally a triangle),

bars). Pressing the control resumes the playback normally, which means
the functionality is not broken, just the icon changing that does not
  happen.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 696773] Re: Rhythmbox Play/Pause button not working correctly

2012-05-12 Thread Timur I. Davletshin
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 795765 ***

Though 10.10 is no longer supported, I've got the same issue in 12.04
and Gnome Shell.

Title:
Rhythmbox Play/Pause button not working correctly

Status in “rhythmbox” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Ubuntu 10.10 32bit standard live CD used to install system on a Dell
  Studio Laptop 1555.

Rhythmbox Play/Pause button not working correctly, in both mini (from main
Gnome bar sound icon) and main Rhythmbox GUI window, and with laptop hot-key
Play/pause, worked correctly in Totem Movie Player (v2.32.0), both the button
in the Totem GUI and the laptop play/pause hot-key.

If you open Rhythmbox, and select a track. You can start the track
playing using one of the play buttons, main/mini/hotkey, but after
that pressing any one of the play/pause buttons does not pause the
track. If you quit from the Rhythmbox you can then repeat (ie start a
track using one of the play buttons).

Note that pressing the pause icon in the GUI causes the button to change to
a Play button, but the track continues playing. If the Play button is now
pressed nothing changes, ie it remains as a Play button.
If you quit from Rhythmbox, re-start Rhythmbox, this behaviour can be
repeated. The same is seen if you press the mini player Pause icon once a
track is playing.

Suspect (guess) that this issue started after installing the unity
(netbook) window manager? I cannot be sure as I have also installed the various
updates that have been available. The issue above is occuring with the standard
Gnome window manager. The same behaviour also occurs if I use the netbook
window manager.
To confirm that the play/pause buttons had worked previously booted up using
standard Gnome 10.10 32bit live CD. Rhythmbox play/pause and laptop hotkey
buttons worked corrected.

Other buttons (ie the previous and next track) work correctly both in
the main GUI, mini player, and using the laptop hotkeys.

Title:
Firefox 10.0.1 crashes when trying to enter a command on the Web
  Console

Status in “firefox” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Bug first appeared last week after updating to Firefox 10 using
Synaptic. Original symptom was crashing Firefox when navigating a site
I'm developing (which logs a lot to console in development
environment). Further discovery indicated that I could crash Firefox
by clicking on the DOM tab in Firebug. At that point, I re-installed
Firefox, created a new profile, re-installed Firebug and could still
reproduce the crash. I created a new user on my system, repeated the
prior steps, same result. After some searching, I found these
  discussions:

  https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=725619

At which point, I tried simply opening the Web Console and typing
print, which would crash the browser before finishing typing the
command, even with a clean install and no plug-ins.

This bug affects only Ubuntu build (both 10 and 10.0.1). Works OK in
official build (both ESR and standard releases).
