Re: [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1514474] Re: package tex-common 6.04... Safe legit patch?
Hey thanks so much for your rapid response. Just the response makes me feel better. Hmm but that is strange about your acct on 16.x being used with Google when you been using 18.x. That is strange. I hope no one injected anything malicious somehow. I don't see how an email from Google would imply that, but heck what if someone cloned an old machine or logged in as you from an Ubuntu 16.x machine. Idk. Anyway you have a great day thanks again so much for the reply and not getting angry with me. Nothing is safe these days so I hope I can be viewed as being vigilant, opposed to just annoying lol. See ya later!! Im greatful for the fix, so thank you. I'm just curious, I seen you have a new acct at launchpad. Like just today your acct was created, with what looks like the sole purpose to push this patch. I don't mean to be accusatory and I certainly don't know how to read source code, but I've read stories of malicious patches getting pushed thru under the radar, so I'm hoping you can just explain why this acct was created today, same day to push the patch. I'm sure I'm being paranoid so im sorry. Surely theres a perfectly good explanation for all this. Thanks for your time and info. Thank you so much for helping the Linux community. I think this bug broke my desktop when upgrading to Ubuntu 17, but I'm not sure if it's the originally reported component that has the bug as I don't know if the re-write for gnome 3 that was mentioned above actually happened. In any case, why are the compiz packages available for new installations if they are clearly broken and won't be fixed? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to libwnck in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/150690 Title: Can't drag a window to another workspace Status in Compiz: Fix Released Status in One Hundred Papercuts: Invalid Status in libwnck: Confirmed Status in compiz package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in libwnck package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: Binary package hint: gnome-compiz-manager When using metacity, I could do the following in the gnome workplace switcher apllet (bottom right corner of the screen): - drag windows to another virtual desktop - cycle virtual desktops by using the mouse wheel on the switcher applet. Bug #150443 Both are very useful, neither of them works in compiz. I'm using the "cube" plugin in CCSM, but using "plan" doesn't change the behavior. Running gutsy with all updates. Public bug reported: I didnt see a bug for the 6.04 tex-common, so im submitting this. I did an in place upgrade from ubuntu 14.04 to 16.04. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1704664] [NEW] fglrx-core crashes when installing dependencies
Public bug reported: The command line that cause this was: sudo apt-get install lib32gcc1 libc6-i386 dkms I downloaded AMD's latest and tried to install them. Upon running those installers, something with fglrx crashed in the background and caused apport to appear. Not quite sure how and why or if this is even critical. I'm not even sure if the AMD drivers were even running. I'm just very confused right now. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1054557] Re: Chromium 20.0.1132.47 and 21.0.1180.89 keep crashing silently
Hi, Is there any update to this crash problem? I am still experiencing the issue of chromium crashing with no error report. In the previous post on the 9th of September it was said that something would be happening within 8-10 days. I am keeping my system upto date but maybe im not downloading the correct files to fix this issue? Thanks -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to chromium-browser in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1054557 Title: Chromium 20.0.1132.47 and 21.0.1180.89 keep crashing silently Status in “chromium-browser” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: At seemingly random times, though often after launch, chromium exits with no error message. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 867682]
I don't get this. The line where an assertion is clearly not satisfied is wocky-c2s-porter.c:1377. Yet, in gabble 0.13.5 this is the line: 1374 if (!wocky_xmpp_connection_send_close_finish (WOCKY_XMPP_CONNECTION (source), 1375res, &error)) 1376{ 1377 g_simple_async_result_set_from_error (priv->close_result, error); 1378 g_error_free (error); 1379 1380 goto out; 1381} So g_simple_async_result_set_from_error, but that's a real symbol (not inline or a macro) and we don't get a frame for g_simple_async_result_set_from_error in the backtrace so it seems to be failing in close_sent_cb? However, there's no typecheck there? so I don't understand what's actually failing here. If we could see what assertion is actually being logged failing that would be useful.
