Kristofer, I'm currently running Ubuntu 12.10. It seems that the bug has
only been fixed for that version. But I can't tell you for sure, I'm not
a developper.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1005495] Re: Change brightness keys don't work on Acer Aspire One D270

2012-07-15 Thread flrtx
I filed a bug report in the GNOME bugtracker and added the link.
Hopefully, this will help.

My videocard is 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation
Atom Processor D2xxx/N2xxx Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09)
according to lscpi and Intel GMA 3600 Grafik according to the website
I bought it from (http://www.cyberport.de/notebook-und-
tablet/notebooks/1CE7-05Q/aktion-acer-aspire-one-d270-weiss-plus-
philips-schutzhuelle-gratis-.html). Frankly, I don't understand why a
videocard can have two (or more?) names. Perhaps you understand it
better than I do.

I see a difference between this bug and bug #1020274: If I press Fn+left
I don't see a notification which I guess means Ubuntu doesn't understand
I want to reduce the LCD brightness. Here (http://dirs-
dissman.livejournal.com/13758.html) it says, Ubuntu wants to reduce
brightness but writes it to the wrong file. Not quite the same issue as
I understand it. But thanks nevertheless for looking into this,
Sebastian Bacher.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please
tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a
bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.
