Title:
print to file always saves to home folder

Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
When I try to print an email to a PDF by selecting the "Print to File"
option in the Print dialog, the PDF file is always saved to my home
folder even if I select "Desktop" or "Documents" in the "Save in
  folder" drop-down list.

However, if I choose "Other..." from the drop-down, and pick the
desired destination folder, this time the PDF is correctly saved in
  the choosen folder.

I tested the Print dialog with GEdit and it does not have this
problem. I noticed, though, that in that application, there's no "Save
in folder" drop-down list but only a "File:" button that, when
clicked, allows me to browse for the desired folder and type in the
output file name, so the mechanics are a little different there.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1181746] Re: print to file always saves to home folder

2013-09-06 Thread Paulo Sequeira
As an update: I found another application with the same issue: Asunder
CD Ripper. I no longer think this issue has anything to do with Firefox
specifically, but with the standard File Open dialog (is it from
Gnome?).

Title:
print to file always saves to home folder

Status in “thunderbird” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
When I try to print an email to a PDF by selecting the Print to File
option in the Print dialog, the PDF file is always saved to my home
folder even if I select Desktop or Documents in the Save in
  folder drop-down list.

However, if I choose Other... from the drop-down, and pick the
desired destination folder, this time the PDF is correctly saved in
  the choosen folder.

I tested the Print dialog with GEdit and it does not have this
problem. I noticed, though, that in that application, there's no Save
in folder drop-down list but only a File: button that, when
clicked, allows me to browse for the desired folder and type in the
output file name, so the mechanics are a little different there.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1181746] Re: print to file always saves to home folder

2013-05-19 Thread Paulo Sequeira
BTW, I forgot to mention that this just started happening after I
updated to Raring yesterday. While using Precise I didn't have this
issue.
