[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1854877] Re: External HDMI display not working with Intel GPU, only works with Nvidia
attached xorg.log. Thanks for the explanation. However I do think that since both Windows 10 and Ubuntu use same Nvidia driver, and Windows can handle HDMI with Intel GPU only, then Ubuntu should be able to do the same. ** Attachment added: "xorg.log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1854877/+attachment/5310911/+files/Xorg.0.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1854877 Title: External HDMI display not working with Intel GPU, only works with Nvidia Status in xorg-server package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I have Asus UX580 laptop with intel and nvidia 1050 video cards under Ubuntu 19.10. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1854877] Re: External HDMI display not working with Intel GPU, only works with Nvidia
I'm not sure Windows is telling you the full truth there. Even if you tell it to prefer the Intel GPU it can't get around the fact that on most hybrid laptops if there's only one HDMI port then it will be physically wired to the secondary GPU, not Intel. Even if the Intel GPU was doing the work Nvidia would usually be handling the port itself. ** Summary changed: - External HDMI display not working with Intel GPU + External HDMI display not working with Intel GPU, only works with Nvidia ** Package changed: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) => xorg-server (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1854877 Title: External HDMI display not working with Intel GPU, only works with Nvidia Status in xorg-server package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I have Asus UX580 laptop with intel and nvidia 1050 video cards under Ubuntu 19.10.
