Thank you for your bug report. In what directory do you try to open the

I install the daily image and dist-upgrade to latest packages.

The permission of these .desktop files in /usr/share/applications/ is
'-rw-r--r--', no execution permission.

2020-04-03 Thread Bin Li
on 18.04 it works fine, for example, gnome-terminal.desktop, it will
show the icon with 'Icon=utilities-terminal', when you double click it,
it will run gnome-terminal.

Currently we had some .desktop file for OEM, so that user could run it
with double click, but on 20.04 .desktop file will be open with gedit,
it's not connected with the application.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1870479] Re: .desktop files were open by gedit

2020-04-09 Thread Rex Tsai
The .desktop was supported by nautilus 1:3.26.4-0~ubuntu18.04.5 in
bionic.

The feature has been removed[1] from nautilus by upstream. There is no
progress from upstream to re-implement the feature[2].

Device Enablement team will need to find another approach to meet
customer's requirement.

@Seb128 The requirement was to create a launcher on the Desktop to help
end user open the user guide of the machine. The device enablement team
should be able implement the same feature with a symbolic link.
