[Desktop-packages] [Bug 891440] Re: evince crashed with SIGSEGV in xcb_get_extension_data()

2012-01-14 Thread Evan Huus
I experienced this bug immediately after resuming from suspend. I had
two documents open in evince, one semi-maximized to the left side of the
screen and one semi-maximized to the right side of the screen. Both
documents crashed before I had interacted with them at all.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 891440] Re: evince crashed with SIGSEGV in xcb_get_extension_data()

2012-01-14 Thread Evan Huus
Based on an examination of the stack trace and some of the referenced
code, I believe this to be a bug in libutouch-geis and not necessarily
evince. I have opened a utouch-geis task for this bug so that the utouch
devs can take a look.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 891440] Re: evince crashed with SIGSEGV in xcb_get_extension_data()

2012-01-15 Thread Evan Huus
I reproduced the crash while running under gdb and captured a full core
file. The attached file contains the test pdf I used (unlikely to be
important, but better safe than sorry) and the xz-compressed core file.

The problem has, to date, been %100 reproducible on demand, so if
there's any other information you need just ask.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 891440] Re: evince crashed with SIGSEGV in xcb_get_extension_data()

2012-01-24 Thread Steve Langasek
So I haven't been able to reproduce this issue with the media keys
normally. What it actually correlates with is my bluetooth headset
pairing with my laptop; I thought it might have been the media keys
because whenever I pair the headset it spontaneously emits a media key
event (which is probably a bug in the bluetooth stack somewhere), but
when pressing any of the media keys, either on my laptop keyboard or on
my headset, evince doesn't crash.

But I had a hunch that it might be related to the registration of a new
input device. Disconnected my USB keyboard and reconnected it, and
evince crashed again. So that's the key here.
