Re: [POLL] update of ant's web site (and Ivy's?)

2010-02-26 Thread Antoine Levy Lambert

I am not forgetting this topic. I will work on it next week.

Regards,

Antoine

It is not like the current way of publishing would seize to function

True.

What would be the effort to using svnpubsub vs the current mechanism?

svnpubsub triggers updates on the live machines, so it not only
publishes any checkins immediately to people.ao, it also takes away the
up-to one hour delay.

What would be the effort to using svnpubsub vs the current mechanism?
(updating the frequency is a no-brainer, and doesn't take much
resources). The current frequency is daily, the website is updated
hourly so anything more frequent than that is not adding much speed to
the publishing process.
(count this as +1 for a separate branch, and a request for more info on
the benefits of using svnpubsub in our environment.)

I've changed the subject to include Ivy as well since it would probably
be a good idea to collect all content that goes under ant.apache.org in
a single place that way.

Such a branch would allow us to publish Ant user manual patches to the
website as well - currently the manual is fixed at a tag. For example
I've added the documentation for the sortfilter filterreader after 1.8.0
jas been released, so the doc not only didn't make it into the release,
it isn't visible on the website either.

If we put work into creating a branch for the website, then it should
save us at least some work (the update of the site), so, yes.

Count this at least as a +0.5 ;-)
