Re: [DISCUSSION] Collab for Spring 2016

2016-01-27 Thread John Burwell
All,

+1 to a collab in Montreal. I like the idea of 2-3 days of coding organized as
a series of birds-of-feather type sessions. People post
features/enhancements/topics of interest for a particular area, and those that
are interested join them to hack through it. No slides to prepare, no passive
sessions — active collaboration and coding.

Thanks,
-John

Any more thoughts on this?

It sounds like Brazil in September is coming along nicely.

As Pierre-Luc asks here, should we do one sooner, too?

Yeah, I'd love to pursue the idea of having a CloudStack conf in Montreal
if we feel there's enough interest.

Ian - Aside from e-mails to dev, users, etc. (which is definitely good to
do), any thoughts on how we might go about finding the answer to that
question?

Re: [DISCUSSION] Collab for Spring 2016

2016-01-26 Thread Ian Rae
I think we would put together a summary of what we are going to do, pick
the dates, and send out a signup form.

If we take a lean approach it should not be expensive to run. I will get
this on my marketing team’s list of things to do in the next week or two.

Re: [DISCUSSION] Collab for Spring 2016

2016-01-18 Thread Mike Tutkowski
I'd be interested in a couple events this year pretty much wherever they
are. I have a couple ideas for new presentations that I think will be of
interest to people.

It's typically easier for me to get permission for longer-distance trips if
the event is longer (I expect that is common). We might want to consider
two-day events for these get-togethers this year.

Talk to you later,
Mike

I like this idea as well because it gets more of the participants focusing
