Re: SMS Gateway failing to run

2022-03-16 Thread Mexina Daniel

Hello team

We were able to identify the cause of SMS gateway failing to run. The
issue was with the connection to the datasource. It seems there were
already enough connections so the gateway was not connected.

One thing which is strange is when we checked to "show processlist" on
the database to see how many connections are in use, we saw databases
(tenants) made five connections each which are in sleep state and this
lead to many connections.

Can anyone help to understand why more than one connection made in one
database and how to fix this?

Kind Regards

Hi James

We have been using tomcat 7 even when the SMS was working.

The MaxSpareThreads is provided in the connector that runs the platform
and I tried to remove the variable and the result is the same, SMS
gateways gives the same errors.

Our SMS gateway was running okay with configurations of Infobip and
was sending sms just fine. But after some days it stopped to run (SMS
wasn't sent and the dropdown for service provider wasn't available)

We decide to restart the tomcat server so that it can restart the
messagegateway but now it throwing an error (attached the

I have also attached the server.xml file and application.yml file for
message-gateway to see the configurations.

Thank you in advance.

Hi everyone,

around Fineract's Git repo, his pull requests and his messages here in
the mailing list. Arnold added in a very short time not only a
significant amount of pull requests (10), but he tackled some long
overdue issues that all of us have already struggled:

* transaction safety
* database locks
* ... and most prominently database independence (well, at least
PostgreSQL support in addition to MySQL) by replacing Flyway with
Liquibase and replacing all database (MySQL) dependent expressions
with SQL standards

He has already more improvements lined up; he'll certainly let us all
know here on the mailing list about the details when he gets to it.
I'm already looking to see these contributions.

You'll see that one or the other pull request seems a bit larger than
usual, but Arnold's still paid attention that his changes can be
reviewed and that they are backward compatible (in itself already a
major challenge).

And finally, in this relatively small timeframe he somehow managed to
be responsible for 19% of 2022's contributions.

This is why I am proposing to add Arnold as a Fineract committer.

Please reply with your vote to this message.

Cheers,

The pentaho reports are designed by using Pentaho Report Designer, after
designing is when you can embed in mifos.

See the link

2019-07-31 Thread Mexina Daniel
Hello

I checked (undoLoanDisbursal and reverseAllTransactions) and didn't find the
relation between the changes i did and the mentioned methods.

Also i get the same error when i try to edit repayment transaction and the log
in both errors says the FailedObject is in the query found in file
o.a.f.p.a.d.AccountTransferRepository.

I have tested also another action which use method from
o.a.f.p.a.d.AccountTransferRepository. and give the same error. But i haven't
changed anything in this file.

2019-07-30 Thread Mexina Daniel
Hello Devs

I was adding some enhancement on transferring of fund and it worked find as i
planned.

However, now when i try to undo disbursal i get errors referring to the file
that i didn't edit anything.

Also, when i edit the repayment transaction, it also shows the error source is
the same file.

Can someone check on the error log (Tried to undo disbursal ) and see if he can
help.

Thanks in advance.

Re: [Mifos-developer] Need help with Mifos project

2019-07-09 Thread Mexina Daniel
Hello Davit

I have added the mail list that deals with the backend of the system (Apache
Fineract) where you can ask whatever you will have about the platform.

The source codes are available at https://github.com/apache/fineract and there
are instructions on how to build it after you have edited.

Hope this will be helpful.

Hello Valmira

When you cloned the repository that means you downloaded the whole file systems
of the codes of fineract.

Do you see the cloned repository on your computer?

Also you can pass through the link as a guide on contributing
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/FINERACT/Take+Your+First+Steps

Some of the loan reports of pentaho are not displaying

2019-05-29 Thread Mexina Daniel
Hello

It seems there are changes done in fineract that brought effect to display of
some of the pentaho loan reports ( seems it has to do with parameters)

I have tried with the same community app, to run platform of Fineract 1.1.0 and
Fineract 1.2.0 and found those reports was displayed when using 1.1.0 and not
displayed when using 1.2.0.

I checked on https://staging.openmf.org too since it fineract 1.2.0 and found
the same issue.

Can someone check and help what could be the change and how to solve it.

Some of the reports are :

Active Loans - Details(Pentaho)

Active Loans - Summary(Pentaho)

Active Loans by Disbursal Period(Pentaho)

etc

Quick response will be appreciated as our live servers are running fineract
1.2.0.

Thanks in advance.

Re: NPA Cron Trigger schedule time

2019-05-14 Thread Mexina Daniel
Hello Parth

Its true for getting good results of NPA, its job should run after scheduler
job of arrears i a same day.

You can edit the cron job to get the result you want by viewing the specific
job (Scheduler job for NPA) and edit its cron expression by clicking the button
"Edit".

Re: [Mifos-developer] Query about "Loans: 'Foreclosure' page" Issue

2019-04-15 Thread Mexina Daniel
Hello Fuh

The ready only amounts of principal, interest, penalty and fees are the
outstanding amounts of the loan at the date of payment.

The values are from the loan itself ( You can see them from the summary of the
loan, but for the case of interest, the system calculate the interest until the
payment date)

Hope this helps.

Re: problem with job schedular

2019-03-31 Thread Mexina Daniel
Hello Piyadassi

I have yet no idea of what could be the cause for them not to run ( Someone
from the community might help ) but you can try to run the schedulers manually
by selecting them and click the button "Run Selected Jobs"

if that won't do, restarting the tomcat server always restart all the
schedulers.

Best Regards

Email Service Configurations

2019-03-12 Thread Mexina Daniel
Hello

I would like an assistance on email service configuration by using a gmail
address and yahoo mail address.

when i configure email service by using the email of our domain, it
successfully send the auto-generated password.

But when i use my gmail account or yahoo account, it doesn't.

Gmail configurations i filled:

username: gmailu...@gmail.com mailto:gmailu...@gmail.com

password: mypassword

host: smtp.gmail.com

port: 587

useTLS: true

Yahoo configurations i filled:

username: yahoou...@ymail.com mailto:yahoou...@ymail.com ( my address use
@ymail.com and not @yahoo.com)

password: mypassword

host: smtp.mail.yahoo.com

port: 587

useTLS: true

Can someone help if my missing something on these configurations?

Re: Two Factor Authentication activation

2019-03-08 Thread Mexina Daniel
Dear Santosh

Thank you, It seems it was a message gateway issue as the token was sent later
after restarting the system.

Also i would like to confirm if it is already implemented in community app,
meaning if there is any configurations i have to do to get the token when login
through community app and then prompt the user to enter them. ( My testing
above was through the RestClient)

Thanks in advance.

Re: Repayment of Loans

2019-03-06 Thread Mexina Daniel
Dear Vishwas

I was inquiring on:-

1. What is the effect/use of configuring NPA fields on the loan product? am
aware that on the system, the recovery repayment is considered as income since
it was written off ( considered as expense)

Addition

2. After you have put aside some amount by provisioning ( by posting the
provisions on accounts) is there anything happens when a certain loan which was
provisioned get re-payed or written off?( since it won't be on arrears anymore)

Tnhaks in advance

Re: Two Factor Authentication activation

2019-02-27 Thread Mexina Daniel
Dear devs,

Both from Fineract and Mifos

I was able to successfully enable 2FA and access it through the Fineract APIs
though i have some things that i would like assistance for someone who has
started to use the feature so that i can be able to use it.

1. Upon login in the community-app, the system couldn't either send the token
or prompt for a user to fill the token ( in case if it was the issue of sms
bridge to send sms) but the release announcement says otherwise
https://mifos.org/blog/announcing-mifos-x-18-03/
https://mifos.org/blog/announcing-mifos-x-18-03/

2. When sent the token through API, they were saved in "m_sms_outbound"
database of messagegateway but wasn't delivered to the mobile while normal
campaign are delivered ( all using the same phone number)
https://mifosforge.jira.com/wiki/spaces/projects/pages/185277689/GSoC+2017+-+Two-Factor+Authentication

Also the super user to do configurations, you have to allow the permission of
"BYPASS_TWOFACTOR" before enabling it.

Help on the above issues will be highly appreciated.

Thanks on advance

Repayment of Loans

2019-02-26 Thread Mexina Daniel
Dear devs

I have the question like
http://mifos.cloud.answerhub.com/questions/794/what-is-the-consequence-of-npa-schedule-job.html

http://mifos.cloud.answerhub.com/questions/794/what-is-the-consequence-of-npa-schedule-job.html
 which was never answered.

Also if the loan has been in NPA for a long time and it has already been
provisioned as expense, shouldn't its repayment being considered as income?
does the system support that?

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards

If someone have a local credit bureau want to integrate, does the platform

PR Reviews

2018-08-28 Thread Mexina Daniel
Hello fineract'ers

Can someone help me to understand few things:

1. Should the PR be reviewed by someone (who can be a committer or not) before
being merged or a committer can merge his/her PR even if it hasn't being
reviewed by anyone?

2. Do we have reviewers of PRs (If yes, i would like to know even few of them)
or anyone can review?

Thank you and i was able to merge the PR.

Hey Mexina, Steve,

The best thing to do is to file a Jira ticket on the INFRA project, because
as a committer, Mexina *should* have access. If you need help with that,
let me know. But before you do that can you share with me the exact
commands you’re using, and how you’ve got the remotes on your local git
repo set up?

Thank you for your persistence,

Hello Steve

I managed to run integration test and only 7 were failing which i assume are
the few left that you are looking at, thank you for the help

I was merging a PR #437 which does not relate with the failing tests, but when
i push with my apache credentials it says "Invalid username or password" while
the same credentials can login https://id.apache.org/.

Am i using the wrong credentials?

Hi all -

I have promoted some fixes for integration tests. There is still one test
that is failing that I am looking at, but this should help enable
contributors to run integration tests every time they promote a change.

A few tips on running integration tests:

1) Make sure that you drop and re-add the mifostenant-default database
before you run tests.
2) You should still be using MySQL 5.6 or turn off ONLY_FULL_GROUP_BY in
your MySQL 5.7 installation
3) You may need to set the timezone in your MySQL configuration (usually
/etc/mysql/my.cnf) to 'Asia/Kolkata' - if you don't do this, you may see
some failures with non-matching timestamps.

Please let me know if you have any issues with running integration tests.
And please make sure that tests are running cleanly with each commit you
make.

Thanks,
Steve

Hello Myrle

Subject: Re: Code Committ Process for Fineract Committers

Hi Mexina,

Coming back to your questions

1.) Theoretically we should be making sure all the integration tests
work before we merge a PR. But we currently have no continuous
integration (CI) processes in place to build or run those integration
tests which means that it's up to individual developers to do it
themselves. Hence it is possible for a committer to merge something
which breaks an integration test. For this reason I suggest running
the integration tests on the changeset you want to merge your changes
with to get a baseline. This is an area we need to do better in, and
I welcome anyone who wants to put in the time.

By the way, the attachment you mentioned didn't reach the mailing
list. A lot of people use pastebin and post links, but I'm not a fan
of that approach since that stuff doesn't get archived. For pure text
files, you may be able to copy/paste out the interesting parts into
your email. Whatever approach you chose, if you want to be sure that
what you sent also reached the mailing list, you can check the
archives here: https://lists.apache.org/list.html?dev@fineract.apache.org

2.) You've already found the answer to your question, but I wanted to
make sure it was clear. The command you were looking for in the case
of pull request 444 was:
git pull https://github.com/wkk91193/incubator-fineract
extend-mifos-data-import-tool-branch-all-modules

Basically you're telling git where to get the code from. In this case
it's in the github account of the user who created the pull request.
This is not a standard case either since the its in a repo in that
account which has a slightly different name than the repo the pull
request was made to. The second parameter to git pull is the name of
the branch within that repository being pulled from.

I hope that helps. I'm going to try to find a way to make this less
of a stumbling block.

I'll be more responsive for the coming week. If you want to ask me
questions on the list, now is a good time.

Best Regards,
Myrle

Hi Mexina -

I did run into some issues with Integration Tests as well when I was
merging - it seems that some of the setup data files are configured for
Windows paths. I was able to work around that, but we should have someone
look into cleaning up the integration tests so that they run more easily.

As far as your specific question about the merge process, it can be a bit
confusing. As the instructions indicate, you will create a new new branch
in your cloned repo In this case, the PR doesn't have a ticket name. @Ed
Cable should we require any PRs to be attached to a
ticket? Otherwise, the name of the branch would be something like
wkk91193-bulk-impoort-fix-importhandler.

Hello Steve

This was really helpfully, thank you

The next question will be, how can i work around it so that i can merge this PR
that seems to fix some of the issues and other PRs that are really needed to be
merged.

Best Regards

It is important that whenever someone wants to submit a PR, they create a
branch that contains only the changes that are to be merged. In this case,

2018-08-01 Thread Mexina Daniel
Hello Myrle

Thank you for the clarifications you have provided,

I also was experiencing some challenges during merging of PRs,

1. Don't all integration tests has to be successfully for a committer to go on
with merging?, i see Steve was able to merge but when i run integrationTests in
my end there are some which still fails.

2. When i was trying to merge the PRs which fix the integratioTest
https://github.com/apache/fineract/pull/444 which failed by instructions from
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/FINERACT/Merge+a+pull+request+to+a+mirrored+Apache+repo
On step 3 of merging pull request, i don't understand the command

" > git pull https://github.com//fineract.git
"

How does it exactly pull from specific PR, unless am misunderstanding the
variable "forked-reponame" and "remote-branch-name"

Can you help?

Subject: Re: Code Committ Process for Fineract Committers

Hey Ed,

All Fineract committers have access rights to change all Fineract
repositories. They can merge their own or others PRs. Nazeer, Nayan, Steve,
Santosh, Ed, Avik are all committers. There are a total of 20+ committers.

The process for committing changes is different depending on the
repository. We have two kinds of repositories. Mirrored repositories and
gitbox repositories.

Mirrored repositories are:

fineract-site
fineract

As Steve pointed out, mirrored repositories are changed via the process
described here:

https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/FINERACT/Merge+a+pull+request+to+a+mirrored+Apache+repo

I personally find that process painful. It is possible that someone tried
that, failed at it, and came to the mistaken conclusion that he didn’t have
access rights.

Gitbox repositories are:
—-
All the Fineract CN repositories

(We are in the process of changing fineract-site to a gitbox repository.)

In gitbox repositories, PRs can be merged via the Github UI most of us are
familiar with. In November of last year, I explained what you need to do to
enable this here on the mailing list:

https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/dec82c43eddd37b2e90020120e285d5cffe04f1fe448e1dfa1b9c49b@%3Cdev.fineract.apache.org%3E

If you are a committer and have tried to merge a change-set and failed,
don’t suffer in silence. You are allowed to make changes. Tell us you’re
struggling so we can help you. I promise to never say RTFM to a committer.
And if someone else does it, I’ll call them on it.

Best Regards,
Myrle

Re: For new committers: how to merge a PR in Fineract 1x... and how to ask for help

2018-04-22 Thread Mexina Daniel
Hello Steve

That's a good initiative,

Sure this will help new committers to start participate in this task early

I would suggest the "welcome" email that you will be sending to include both
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/FINERACT/Committer%27s+Zone and
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/FINERACT/Merge+a+pull+request+to+a+mirrored+Apache+repo
and other infos that you think might be helpful

Best Regards

Thanks Myrle. I think it's a good idea to have someone send a 'welcome'
email to new committers with a link to that documentation. I am happy to
take on that role. I will look for any messages announcing new committers
and be sure to follow up with them and let them know they are free to merge
PRs, etc. And I will send the link to the documentation.

I'll let you know if there are any documentation updates that I think would
be helpful. Are we free to modify those documents, or is that something
that only the owner of the docs can do?

Thanks again,
Steve

Yes Mexina,

We get the same exception.

I don’t see any business logic in blocking transfer reversals.

Definitely, an enhancement is needed.

The current documentation about release management states that

"Release branches are created every two months at the beginning of the
following month from the changes that were merged by the last day of
the previous month" (1)

That's just a draft, and we haven't been keeping to that. To do that,
we'd need multiple volunteers to step up and take on the release
management role. It doesn't have to be just people who've already
done it, and probably even if those people were on board in principle,
they are not enough in number to keep it consistent.

> Nazeer, Avik, Nikhil, Vishwas and others who've been coordinating release

In addition to those who've already been involved in release
management, is anyone who is currently working on Fineract 1.x
interested in learning to do it?

Best Regards,
Myrle

Mexina,

Because you are a committer, you have the necessary permissions to
merge your own pull request. If it's important enough to you to hold
up the release, you can say so. If you need information on how to
merge a pull request check here:
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/FINERACT/Merge+a+pull+request+to+a+mirrored+Apache+repo
If you have any questions or suggestions for improvement, please feel
free.

Everyone,

In general though I'd like us to move away from holding up a release
for a specific feature and towards more frequent releases. This would
get everyone's features and bug fixes out faster.

Do you share my opinion about release frequency? What would we need
to change to release more frequently?

Best Regards,
Myrle

It would be very appreciated if it will be among of the merged PRs in the new

Can you review existing PRs... that haven't been merged? or the close has been

Thanks for the fix Steve ! The same has been merged.

@Santosh / Ed : https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FINERACT-574
 is probably an issue which
has been existing for a while now ? Given that the large majority of fineract
users do no use the share management module, I would suggest that we proceed
with this release without waiting for the same to be fixed.

Adding +Mohit into this loop.

Looking at the error log and description given by Mexina, do you think it's
front-end issue? Because I faced such issue previously in different
scenario where Submit button not working, not throwing any validation or
even 'Network Response'. It was fixed from front-end side.

Apache against OpenMF Fineract repository

2018-01-02 Thread Mexina Daniel
Hello Devs

For someone who is doing development under the repository which was cloned from
https://github.com/apache/fineract and want to deploy the changes to user but
still allow the access of pentaho report.

How can he go about it.

Because i see that the new pull requests are merged in
https://github.com/apache/fineract and not
https://github.com/openMF/incubator-fineract which allow pentaho.

Thanks in advance

Hey Mexina,

I don't know the Mifos release numbers, but the newest version of
Mifos also contains Fineract 1.0.0, and therefore has the
SQL-injection bugfix. I assume that's the reason your asking?

Best Regards,
Myrle

Hello Mexina,

Change ROOT/scripts/routes-initialTasks-webstorage-configuration.bbf48eff.js

Go to the line var baseApiUrl = "https://demo.openmf.org";; and change the demo
URL to your default URL say [ https://demo.singo.africa/ |
https://demo.singo.africa ] .

Also change domain name on this line to your own: if
(mainLink.hostname.indexOf('openmf.org') >= 0)

Restart server and you should be good.

Sub-domain to access a tenant

2017-11-15 Thread Mexina Daniel
Hello Devs

I have one server which have Mifos of version 16.12.01, i created different
tenants and was able to create subdomains which was directed to specific
tenant.

But now i have another server which is running Mifos 17.07.01, i have created
different tenants, but when i created subdomains and try to access them
(tenant1.yyy.co.tz), they access the default tenant.

Is there any changes in the new Mifos, somewhere i can change configuration?

Assistance will be highly appreciated

Regards

Hello Santosh

I suggest to be resolved in both ends as deleted holidays will not be
used/needed any more

Hi Mexina,

I am also inline with your opinion. Do you think it should be resolved from
front end only or back end as well?

Thanks
Santosh

Deleted holidays

2017-11-07 Thread Mexina Daniel
Hello devs

Is there any logic to leave th deleted holidays to be displayed in the system
while no any other action can be done against them?

I see in the demo account, there are holidays display with the status "Deleted"

Schema Version 328 is missing

2017-10-12 Thread Mexina Daniel
Hello Devs

I have built the source codes of apache/fineract successful and updated the
fineract-provider.war of my system [ of Version 17.07.01.RELEASE ] that was
running locally with the new one i built.

Now when i want to access Mifos system i get an error of "Couldn't connect to
server, make sure you are using correct setting"

I tracked the error in the error log and found it is caused by "Migration of
schema `mifostenant-default` to version 328 failed!"

Well i know this could be solved by using
https://mifosforge.jira.com/wiki/spaces/docs/pages/97615907/Failed+Upgrade+Tips+Mifos+X
but the version which is failing is not even in the database folder of the
downloaded Mifos of Version 17.07.01.RELEASE

How can this be solved

Will appreciate the assistance

Regards
