[l10n-dev] Info about translate of document about TCO of StarOffice, OpenOffice and MS Office.

2009-11-18 Thread Eduardo Alexandre
Hi,

My name is Eduardo and i write from Brazil.
I found a pretty cool document about TCO of StarOffice, OpenOffice and
MS Office 2007 at Sun website.
Your date of publish is recent (January 2009) and mentions Windows
Vista while S.O.
 This document is available at
https://www.sun.com/offers/details/StarOffice9_TCO.xml?intcmp=2971
But while i was reading, i perheaps your license:

*... This product or document is protected by copyright and
distributed under licenses restricting its use, copying, distribution, and
decompilation. No part of this **product or document may be reproduced in
any form by any means without prior written authorization of Sun and its
licensors, if any...*

I can translate this document to Porthguese-Brasil (pt_Br)? How can I
get permission to translate and distribute the text in pt_Br?
If i do, how I should proceed?
This document would very, very important to disclose the exchange of MS
Office to OpenOffice here, im Brazil.

*(Sorry for the mistakes in email. My English is not so good.)*

Thanks!
_

Thank you and the others for your warm welcome :) Gsicheck showed me no
errors, so I submitted my first tranlation issue: can anybody confirm
 me that all went OK?

 Great work !

Thanks Sophie for your help and kindness! :)

Your issue is ok and well filled, monitor it as Ivo has a lot of other
languages to manage, don't hesitate to remind him if you feel out of
his radar. But there should be no problem.

Also, it would be nice to know when the build will be available in order to
perform the testing process, as I intend to have Galician language included
in the official download sites of this release.

We will have a build on the 3rd of November. There will be a testing
period between 3rd of November to 19th of November, where you will have
the time to check your translation using the TCM if you wish and
provide a new .sdf file containing only your corrections.

We launched a public test calling in our community in order to ensure
good feedback from real users. We detected some errors and we have solved
those errors. But:

Before providing the updated .sdf, I'd like to get the opportunity to add
an extra sistematic verification joining the TCM tests process. I followed
the instructions sending a mail request to tcmrequ...@l10n.openoffice.org
but I still have no answer.

Should I do any other thing (more than just waiting :)? I suposse that
TCM is the preferred testing method here.

Then, after the last date, you won't be able to provide corrections and
see them on 3.2 release, this will be the release candidate time. And
the time for QA testing :) But we are not there, one step after another
 ;)

:) Now after the extension, then we last date is 26th isnt't?

 Kind regards
 Sophie
