With a little delay, you have the GO from the Italian team too: first
tests were OK and our localization group did not report any problems so
far.

The "string" actually is a backslash (doubled in the resource for
escapement). Anyway, it's a remainder of the legacy binary file format,
and having it translatable was an error. This, and probably other
STR_HFCMD_* string resources as well (to be investigated), isn't used
anymore, so the actual content doesn't matter. The resource string(s)
and the code using it should be removed in a future version.

Btw, if you didn't hijack this mail thread but would had started a new
thread using an appropriate subject instead, I might had come across
earlier..

Just a reminder: we once had the agreement, that localization cwsses
will be provided as simple tar.gz (or zip) packages, not asinstallation
archives.

This will make the different rpm and deb packages superflous.
Furthermore it would be easy to use such builds in parallel to any other
productive or developer installation of OOo.

Since this string is not translatable, I tried the "copy" function in

How should I proceed?

Dear All,

this is a reminder that the OOo 3.1.1 is approaching and in case you
have some important l10n fixes that you would like to see fixed in the
3.1.1 micro release, you have the possibility to submit them by June
12th http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/OOoRelease311.

Pootle users need to carry out the fixes in Pootle. Aijin will submit
diff files containing the fixes to release engineering on June 12th.

For all others, please follow the instructions below:

* provide sdf diff files that contain only the fixed strings (please
remove non translated strings or strings which have not been modified
since 3.1 release from the sdf file)

 * the sdf file should be intact containing both the corrected
translated strings and the corresponding en-US source strings. Remove
untranslated or unchanged strings from the sdf file. Please note that
the en-US strings have to be the same milestone like your translation.

   * please make sure that the GSI / SDF file format is not violated
(format errors like wrong amount of tabs, shifted columns, ... ) by
using "gsicheck". Please use the latest version at:
http://ooo.services.openoffice.org/gsicheck/ usage: gsicheck -c
myfile.sdf. In case of errors please use the log file to fix them.

   * file an issuezilla bug to "v...@openoffice.org", assign the issue to
"v...@openoffice.org", Target milestone to "OOo 3.1.1" , Component "l10n"
, Subcomponent "code" , Issue type "ENHANCEMENT". Please don't attach
your file directly to the issue, but provide an URL / link pointing to
your file. Please do attach only if you don't have any other web space
available (http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/project_issues.html)

If any questions, just let me know,

Is it possible to exlude italian language from this process?
The italian team made some terminology changes that involve both UI and OLH, so
applying only UI diffs will lead to some mis-translations for 3.1.1.
Should I let this know in IssueTracker?
Thank you.

Italian OLH diffs are also delivered via IssueTracker.
