Re: Test ALL screens automatically?

Hi Jacques,

Using packages like Selenium WebDriver which is the successor of Selenium
remote control or Selenium Grid which controls and distribute test cases
load on many Selenium remote control needs a lot of configurations and
environment settings.
Do you think project like this will be part of the ofbiz distribution or
will only done on the server holding the demo-trunk?

[jira] [Created] (OFBIZ-5178) Add Configurable Product to Quote does not open "Configure Product Before Adding to Cart"

2013-04-14 Thread Medhat (JIRA)
Medhat created OFBIZ-5178:
-

Summary: Add Configurable Product to Quote does not open
"Configure Product Before Adding to Cart"
 Key: OFBIZ-5178
 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OFBIZ-5178
 Project: OFBiz
  Issue Type: Bug
  Components: order
Affects Versions: SVN trunk, Release Branch 12.04
Reporter: Medhat

When you create a Quote, and try to add Configurable Product like "PC001 -
Configurable PC" to Quote, it is added directly to the Quote without opening or
go through "Configure Product Before Adding to Cart" page.

"Look up Product and Price" Displays many empty options in the Combo Box "Primary Product Category Id"

2013-04-13 Thread Medhat AbdelBadie
Hi,

When open "Look up Product and Price" Look up which is reached by the
following Steps:

Order >> Quotes >> find Quote or create new Quote >> Quote Items >> Create
New Quote Item >> open look up beside "Product Id"

The Combo Box "Primary Product Category Id" Contains many empty options
when scroll down inside the Combo Box.

This is because Combo box displays data in the "DESCRIPTION" field in the
entity "ProductCategory" Which maybe contains empty values in many records.

To solve this issue, I am suggesting the following:

In the File : /applications/product/widget/catalog/FieldLookupForms.xml

at lines 144 - 150,

144
145
146
147
148
149
150

Add the following line after line 146

**

Then the above code snippet becomes:

144
145
146
147**
148
149
150
151

This will remove any empty "DESCRIPTION" field's value from being listed in
the Combo Box.

This behavior is existing on "demo-trunk" and ofbiz version 12.04.01.

What you think about that ?

Regards,
Medhat

Add Configurable Product to Quote does not open "Configure Product Before Adding to Cart"

2013-04-11 Thread Medhat AbdelBadie
Hi,

When you create a Quote, and try to add Configurable Product like "PC001 -
Configurable PC" to Quote, it is added directly to the Quote without
opening or go through "Configure Product Before Adding to Cart" page.
Also, when this Configurable Product is added to Quote, no way to configure
this product.

This behavior is existing on "demo-trunk" and ofbiz version 12.04.01.

Does this behavior is Desired or not ?

Medhat

Re: Moving Jetty component from framework to specialpurpose

2013-04-02 Thread Medhat AbdelBadie
Hi,

If the default installation will run ofbiz using tomcat, then i agree with
moving Jetty to specialpurpose, because it is an alternative web server.
If there is no default web server used to run ofbiz after build using the
default configurations, then it is OK to move both Jetty and tomcat to
another place, maybe it will be specialpurpose but after restructuring it.
e.g .. to have a directory inside specialpurpose called webservers
contains any webserver used with ofbiz.

Medhat

Re: Moving the "appserver" component from framework to specialpurpose

2013-04-02 Thread Medhat AbdelBadie
Hi,

I think it is place in framework is suitable.
If you want to move it from framework, it is OK, but i think specialpurpose
is not the suitable place, because we talked about specialpurpose as a
place for additional components or optional components, which is not the
case with the application server.

I think it is a good idea to reorganize the structure of the framework, so
we can place application server in a suitable place inside framework.

Medhat

Re: In preparation for the 13.04 branch

2013-03-23 Thread Medhat AbdelBadie
Hi,

No matter where you keep ecommerce component in releases, but the point is
to exist in the release.
>From my prospective, it should exist as part of the main product.
Functionality like link to the "PRODUCT PAGE" in the Product page in
catalog manager, will not exist if ecommerce component does not exist, and
if it is added as a separate component, it will need a lot of work to
integrate it again, taking into consideration we do not have a vision now
regarding how additional component will be added to the main product or
core functions.

I think we need a thread discusses how additional or separate components
will be installed/integrated with the main product.

Medhat

2013-03-22 Thread Medhat AbdelBadie
It is OK,

But Does this mean ecommerce application will be removed to another
directory, or will be entirely suppressed from the new release and
released separately?
Does this mean we will have main release with core components, and any
other components will be treated as plugins or something like that?

Medhat

Re: Releasing 12.04.01

2013-03-09 Thread Medhat
Hi,

Does this release preserves all commits and bug fixes in Release 11.04.02 ?
Does this release preserves existing tables in data model implemented in
Release 11.04.02, so the upgrade will be safe, no matter if new tables are
added ?

If Both are Yes, so, I am waiting for it, many enhancements exist on Trunk
and i hope they are included in the official release.

I am appreciating your Great Efforts and role.

Regards,
Medhat
